Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Stillwater with Dr. William S. Inglish and the Rev. Rick Hendricks officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater was in charge of arrangements.

Willie "Sonny" Etheridge, 69, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at his residence. He was a machinist. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Murlon Love, 80, of Halls, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis. He was a retired employee of Red Ball Freight Line and a member of Hales Point Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Halls cemetery.

Elzora Watson Mayberry, 91, of Newbern, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Union City Manor Nursing & Rehab Center. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern with Brother William O. Armstead officiating. Burial will be in Newbern cemetery. Thompson's Mortuary in Ripley is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will take place today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg. The Rev. Jerry Stafford will officiate.

Samuel "Sam" Tate, 24, of Greenfield died on Friday, May 14, 2004, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a member of Cooper's Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services are today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Curry Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Haven cemetery. Brother Randy Vowell will officiate.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Dyer County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. John Alexander Floersh, 52, of Rutherford died Friday, May 21, 2004. A well-respected general practitioner and had many patients from the Dyersburg and Dyer County area. Funeral services took place on Saturday, May 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson. Karnes and Son Funeral Home of Dyer was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Rutherford cemetery.

Ruby Caudle Grizzle, 90, who was born in Dyersburg March 21, 1914, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, in California. She was married to the late Shelly Floyd Grizzle. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at the Lima Family Cedar Lawn Mortuary in Fremont, Calif. The Rev. Calvin Smith and Rev. Leo Nunn will officiate.

Bobbie J. Hill, 63, of Dyersburg died Friday, May 21, 2004, at the Med. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was an insurance agent for Modern Woodmen of America. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress, a lifetime Hall of Fame member in the Dyersburg Bowling Association and a member of the First Christian Church. He was also an avid fisherman and duck hunter.

Betty Jean King, 70, of Newbern died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at her residence. Born in Blytheville, Ark., in 1933, she was a homemaker. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 24, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ, where she was a member, with burial to follow in Yorkville cemetery in Yorkville. The Rev. Jerry Stafford will officiate.

Edison Mathis, 85, of Dyersburg died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at his residence. He was a retired Ft. Campbell civil service worker and a member of the Baptist church. He was born in Stewart County, Tenn. Funeral services took place on Saturday, May 22, at 3 p.m. at the Anglin Funeral Home of Dover with burial in Heflin cemetery of Dover. The Rev. David Whitehead and the Rev. Morris Lee officiated.
