He was a retired employee of Budd Company in Gary, Ind. and from the Bedford Public Library, he was an elder at the Lake Station Church of Christ and was serving as a deacon at Central Church of Christ in Bedford.

He was a retired minister, trustee at Union University in 1954-1956, assistant to the President at Union University in 1962-1964, board member of Tennessee Baptist Children's Home for five years, member of Executive Board of Tennessee Baptist Convention for 15 years, member of Board of Trustees of Tennessee Baptist Foundation of Tennessee Baptist Convention for nine years, and a member of other state convention boards and committees, a member of Rotary Club, Lions Club, Boy Scouts of American, Board of Volunteer Hospital in Martin, chaplain ministry in hospitals and chaplain for Tennessee Highway Patrol.

She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Ala. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Tiptonville City cemetery with the Rev. Samuel Price officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. today at Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg with the Rev. Joe Naylor officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was a retried employee of Asbridge Florist and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Springhill Baptist Church, where she was a member of for 83 years, with the Rev. James Branscum and the Rev. James Kinsey officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon cemetery in Friendship.

Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Rector officiating. Burial will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Jerald Hamm, 57, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at his residence. He was the owner of Hamm Investigative Agency and an apprentice funeral director with Curry Funeral Home. A 1965 graduate of Dyersburg High School, he attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 in Germany.
