He was an engineer at Slim Fast Nutritional Foods, a member of the First Christian Church of Dyersburg, where he also served as a deacon, and an assistant coach for Dixie Youth Baseball.

Frances Marbueritte Duncan Rice, 91, of Dyersburg died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Dyersburg Manor. She was a homemaker, a former employee of Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at noon Monday at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Thomas Hendrix (11/29/04)
George Thomas Hendrix, 69, of Halls, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Germantown Methodist Hospital. He was a retired construction worker with Forcum Lannom for 30 years and a U.S. Army veteran. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon cemetery.

Virginia Arrington Mayberry, 78, of Ridgely, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at McKenzie Rehabilitation & Healthcare. She was manager of Lara Kendall School Cafeteria and a member of the First Baptist Church in Ridgely. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Ridgely First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Coleman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elton Hervey, 76, of Jackson, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cosmopolitan Funeral Services.

Mary "May Jack" Parr, 62, of Halls, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a former employee of Tupperware Manufacturing.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Henning Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Halls with the Rev. Percy Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Henning Grove cemetery in Halls.
The family will receive visitors at noon-6 p.m. Saturday at Currie's Funeral Home in Henning.

Julia Imogene Bullard (12/01/04)
Julia Imogene Bullard, of Linden, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004. She moved to Linden in 1995 from Lapeer, Mich. and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hohenwald. Services were Nov. 24 at Young Funeral Home in Linden with David Saguan and Ray Barger officiating. Burial was in Dr. O.A. Kirk Memorial cemetery.

Lisa Rene Atchley Rodgers (12/02/04)
Lisa Rene Atchley Rodgers, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was manager of Hoods Discount Home Center in Dyersburg. The family will receive visitors tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. with her brother, Charles Atchley, officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Victorean Robison, 82, of Ridgely, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. The family will receive visitors Saturday, Dec. 4, from noon until 1 p.m. at Ridgely Chapel Baptist Church in Ridgely. Services will be held Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Tom Sanders Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Citizen cemetery in Tiptonville. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home in Dyersburg is in charge of arrangements.

Ella Bernice Scott, 102, of Nebo, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at Gibson County General Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Nebo United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville cemetery.

L.V. Taylor (12/03/04)
L.V. Taylor, 85, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired factory worker and employed with Pattersons Lumber, Bowen Lumber, Forcum Lannom and Colonial Rubber. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. .

Mayola Hart (12/06/04)
Mayola Hart, 78, of Ripley died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at Jackson General Hospital. She was a retired nurse's aide. Services will take place Monday at noon at the Spiller Hill Church of God in Christ, located in Ripley, with burial to follow in St. Luke cemetery. Elder L.S. Hayslett will officiate. Thompson's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Jones, 88, of Ridgely died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at her residence. She was a retired factory worker at H.I.S. Manufacturing and a homemaker. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cunningham Methodist Church in Ridgely, where she was a member, with burial to follow at Zion cemetery. The Rev. Dean Emerson will officiate. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Herndon Pettersen (12/06/04)
Dorothy Herndon Pettersen, 97, formerly of Trimble, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 in Nashville. She was an accountant with Tennessee Retirement Systems and a member of the Harpeth Heights Baptist Church in Nashville. Graveside services took place Saturday in New Salem cemetery at Mason Hall. Dr. Chuck Frazier officiated.

Johnny Ray Pirtle, 49, of Bolivar, who lived at 119 Jones St., in Newbern, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 at Jackson General Hospital. He was disabled. Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem MB Church in Bolivar. Dixie Funeral Home in Bolivar is in charge of arrangements.

A.J. Grills, 80, of Newbern, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 at Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt. He was a farmer, a member of mount Carmel United Methodist Church, a member of The Day World War II of the U.S. Army receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Service Star.

David Carne Butler, 53, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. He was a retired self-employed air conditioner installer, National Guard member for 13 years and attended Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

John C. Sanford, 79, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a business owner. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Dyersburg City cemetery with Brother Torin Brooks officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at H.H. Hudson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
