Rosie Epperson Bailey, 68, of Drummonds, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, April 29, 2005 at her residence. She was retired from Albertson's Grocery Store in Memphis and a member of The Fellowship Baptist Church. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday in the Millington chapel of Munford Funeral Home. Burial was in Quito Memorial cemetery in the Quito community.

Charlie Dunivant (05/04/05)
Charlie Dunivant, 94, of Newbern, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 in Slidell, La. He was the owner of City Coal & Seed Company in Newbern for more than 50 years. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Lee England, 79, of Ridgely, died Monday, May 2, 2005 at her residence. She was a retired employee of HIS and a clerk for Council Five and Ten and a member and Sunday school teacher for Ridgely First United Pentecostal Church. She attended Enville Elementary School and completed school at Adamsville School.

Earl Smith, 59, of Hayti, Mo., formerly of Tiptonville, died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Union City. He was a retired roofer and a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. W.E. Strout officiating. Burial will be in New Haven cemetery in Ridgely.

Lillie Patterson (05/04/05)
Lillie Patterson, 73, of Dyersburg, died today at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Curry Funeral Home.

Violet 'Jeri' McCarley (05/05/05)
Violet "Jeri" McCarley, 80, of Mayfield, Ky., died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Mills Manor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Services were Wednesday in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. C.W. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.

Guy Olen 'Jr.' Quillions (05/05/05)
Guy Olen "Jr." Quillions, 72, of Tiptonville, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home in Tiptonville. He was a retired truck driver, a Baptist, a former member of the Tennessee National Guard and a member of the VFW. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Tiptonville chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Houston Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in New Haven cemetery in Ridgeley.

Jack W. Tipton, 81, of Trenton, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Milan General Hospital. He was a retired hospital administrator, employed with Pemiscot Memorial Hospital from 1966-1973 and at Memorial Hospital in Trenton until his retirement in 1986; a veteran of World War II serving as a pharmacist's mate aboard the LSM 182; and a member of First Baptist Church in Trenton where he served as deacon.

Virginia Nooan, 78, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Oakwood Community Living Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cosmopolitan Funeral Services.

Leora Kimmons (05/06/05)
Leora Kimmons, 84, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. She was a domestic worker. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dyersburg with Elder Leroy Scates officiating. Burial will be in M.C.C.O. cemetery in Newbern. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

J.C. Lee (05/06/05)
J.C. Lee, 79, of Finley, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris. He was a farmer, a member of Chic Baptist Church and a Navy veteran. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Pearl Patterson, 72, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at her residence. She was a retired business owner. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Elmo Holmes, 85 of Dyersburg, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a retired accountant for Tupperware, a member and deacon of Fowlkes Baptist Church, helped organize Dyersburg Saddle Club and was an avid rose gardener.

Robert Allen Terry, 76, of Gleason, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was a retired machinist. Services were Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Newbern.

Ivie Lee Privett Bessent, 93, of Friendship, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with visitation today from 4 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Wayne Foropoulos and the Rev. J.W. Abney will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevernon cemetery in Friendship. Friendship Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia M. Noonan, 77, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Oakwood Manor. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the People's Chapel C.M.E. Church with visitation at the same location from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery of Dyersburg. The Rev. Charles F. McCright will officiate.

Carolyn McCullough Pearson, 65, of Dyersburg, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was a retired homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church, a leader of Gibson Girls, and a member of the administrative board. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with visitation prior to the funeral at the church beginning at noon. Dr. Phillip Cook and the Rev. Wade Cox will officiate.

Ruth Ray, 81, of Newbern, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at her residence. She was a retired worker from Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of the Pentecostal church. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Dyer County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ray Winstead will officiate.

Willie Maurice Reynolds, 83, of Friendship, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a farmer and retired from Colonial Rubber Works. He was also a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and the Friendship Masonic Lodge.

Troy Richard Trim (05/10/05)
Troy Richard Trim, 83, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Ridgely Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired electrical engineer. He was a 1943 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Claxton during World War II.

Stephen Fisher Tucker (05/10/05)
Stephen Fisher Tucker, 64, of Dickson, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was affiliated with the wine industry for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, the military Order of the Stars and Bars, and the Dickson Masonic Lodge No. 468. He achieved the rank of a 32nd-degree Mason.

Dennis Lee Fisher, 58, of Odessa, Texas, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A memorial service was held May 4 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with James Bishop officiating.

LaVerne Haynes, 90, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at her residence. She was a member of Tucker Street Church, Ridgely Women's Club, Hornbeak Women's Circle and enjoyed painting. Services were held Saturday at Tucker Street Church with the Rev. Robert G. Miller and Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg. H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde J. Riley, 73, of Gates, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Ripley. He was a retired employee of Marimont and a deacon and member of Woodville Baptist Church. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Concord cemetery in Gates.

He was a retired hairstylist, a member of Southside Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and Korean Conflict. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Naylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Betty Jo Johnson (05/12/05)
Betty Jo Johnson, 71, of Tiptonville, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at her residence. She was a homemaker, a member of Wynnburg Baptist church, former owner of Betty Johnson's Candy Kitchen, former manager of Airpark Inn Restaurant, a food service employee for 10 years at Obion County General Hospital and was cafeteria manager at Lake County High School.

William David Pike Jr. (05/12/05)
William David Pike Jr., 43, of Dyersburg, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a former park naturalist at Reelfoot Lake, a member, deacon and former Sunday school teacher at Finley Baptist Church and a 1995 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor of science in wildlife biology.

Mary Louise Mangum Ryals (05/12/05)
Mary Louise Mangum Ryals, 90, of Millington, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at Millington Health Care Center. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Munford Funeral Home. Burial will be in Helen Crigger cemetery in Munford.
