Leon Mack Tucker, 71, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at his residence. He was a retired insurance agent having worked for Life of Georgia for 20 years. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

William Floyd Pierce (06/13/05)
William Floyd Pierce, 78, of Hornbeak, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Baptist Hospital East of Memphis. He was a retired construction worker and heavy-equipment operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Ridgely Church of Christ.

Rylyn Cole King, infant son of Casey and Leigh-Anne King of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Graveside services were Monday at Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg with Rev. David Pace officiating.

Mary Sue Ross, 74, of Newbern, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Union City Manor. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Services were Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Clay officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Newbern.

Donald L. 'Red' Hanley Sr. (06/13/05)
Donald L. "Red" Hanley Sr., 62, of Newbern, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Transitional Care Center in Jackson. He was a truck driver, attended Newbern Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was a 26-year member of The Loyal order of the Moose, served as trustee of Dyersburg Moose Lodge and was a member of Legion of the Moose.

Peggy J. Whitt Decker, 67, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Ridgely Care & Rehabilitation. She was a homemaker. Graveside services were Friday in Neely's Chapel cemetery in Nauvoo with the Rev. Wayne McClain officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was a retired businessman, member of First United Methodist Church, mayor of Tiptonville for six years, an Army veteran of World War II and Tennessee National Guard, owned Caldwell's Department Store and chairman of Tiptonville Red Cross.

Robbie Lou Ellen Grief, 63, of Trimble, died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Trimble First Baptist Church. Services were Tuesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Doctor Bill Oakley officiating. Burial will be in Pierce cemetery in Trimble.

Elmo Ray Crump, 86, of Jackson, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Maplewood Healthcare Center in Jackson. He was a former insurance executive and owner of Crump Insurance Agency, a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher of First Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the U.S. .

John L. Yarbro Sr., 84, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and landowner, a member of First United Methodist Church of Dyersburg, He was a UA Army Air Force veteran serving as a lieutenant (20th Army Air Force, 315 Bomb Wing,16th Bomb Group) during World War II as a bombardier on a B-29. He participated in many of the final missions over Japan including the now famous, Last Mission.

Services were Tuesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Naylor and the Rev. William Roberts officiating. Burial was in Zion cemetery in Elbridge.

James Harold Wilson, 67, of Dyersburg, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at his residence. Born in Crockett Mills, he was a retired employee of Turner Dairy. Funeral services were Sunday, June 19 at East Dyersburg Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial followed in Fairview cemetery of Dyersburg. The Rev. Dale Mills and the Rev. Glen Elliott officiated.

Tim Williams, 40, of Newbern, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at his residence. He was a former deputy with the Madison Parish Sheriff's Department in Louisiana where he served as a K-9 officer. Funeral services were Sunday, June 19 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home of Tiptonville. Burial followed in nearby Lake Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Wolfgang officiated.

James T. "Jim" Moser Sr., 82, of Jackson, Miss., originally of Decaturville, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He was a representative for Combined Insurance Co. from 1965-2002 and retired from the United State Air Force in 1963 with 21 years of service.
