Thomas Carl Long, 83, of Bogota, died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at his residence. He was a retired farmer and mechanic, an avid hunter and fisherman and a baseball player for Bogota and Miston teams. Services were Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Brother Lawrence Tittle officiating. Burial was in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Walter Edwin Hill, 64, of Rutherford, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at his residence. He was a minister pasturing several churches in Northwest Ohio and preached occupation in several churches in Northwest Tennessee, was industrial engineer at Plastech in Bryan, Ohio and quality engineer at the Kenton plant.

Freeman Eugene Cooper (06/30/05)
Freeman Eugene Cooper, 76, of Newbern, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at Dyersburg Manor. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of the  Vietnam War, a member of Newbern Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite and a 32nd Degree Mason. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Dr. John Bay, 61, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Billy Russell Williams (07/05/05)
Billy Russell Williams, 72, of Whitemore Lake, Mich., formerly of Friendship, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at his residence. He was a retired employee of Michigan Seamless Tubing Company and was a U.S. Army veteran. Services were Sunday at Friendship Funeral Home with the Rev. David Green officiating. Burial will be in Young-Williams cemetery near Friendship.

John Calvin Lomax (07/05/05)
John Calvin Lomax, 77, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at his residence. He was a retired machinist with Collins Auto Parts after 46 years. Graveside services were Saturday in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg with Doctor Phillip Cook officiating. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Carole Marie Etheridge, 52, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Bells Nursing Home. Graveside services were Friday in Fairview cemetery.

Homer Anderson, 89, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a factory employee and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Services were Saturday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Rev. Harvey Yance, 71, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired security guard for Murray Guard, a minister of the Church of Jesus Christ and a veteran of U.S. Air Force. Services were Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bishop Jimmy Ennis Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Ronnie Wilson, 62, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was an employee of Ermco Manufacturing for 28 years, a Navy veteran and a Baptist. Services were Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Mac Daniels and Brother Tommy Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove cemetery in Henning.

Evelyn Owsley (07/05/05)
Evelyn Owsley, 86, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center. She was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of Hawthorne Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg with Brother Jim Ennis officiating.

Ogie McGuire, 57, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Colonial Rubber. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Dyer County Memorial Garden with the Rev. Lloyd Davis officiating.

David Wayne Perry, 41, of Dyersburg died Friday, July 1, 2005 in Henderson, KY. He was a self-employed painter and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Dyersburg. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at New Haven cemetery in Ridgely. Dr. Joe Wright will officiate.

John Windfield Hunt Jr. (07/05/05)
John Windfield Hunt Jr., 67, of Jackson died Friday, July 1, 2005. Hunt served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. He operated the Keglar Lanes in Dyersburg in the 1970s. He was employed by All-Wear Manufacturer of Newbern and Consultech as an independent computer programmer until his retirement in 2002. An accomplished bowler, he bowled semi-pro and was on several traveling teams. He was also a member of Brown's United Methodist Church.

Timothy R. Copeland Sr., 49, of Decatur, Ala., formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at his home following a six-month illness. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and recently became a proud grandfather. He was president of Copeland Metals Sales Inc. in Decatur. He was an accomplished artist and musician.

Dr. John Ralph Bay, O.D., 60, of Ridgely died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. He was an optometrist at Wal-Mart, a graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and a member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church.

Colton Ian Deven Smith, the infant son of Robert and Sarah Smith of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were Wednesday in Church Grove cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Danny Klutts officiating. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Amos Earl Scott, 64, of Halls, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at his residence. He worked in industrial maintenance for 14 years at Lasco Tomkins. Services were Monday at Murrys Chapel Methodist Church, where he was a member. Halls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Beadie Ann Vaughn Cole, 95, of Milan, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at N.H.C. Health Care in Milan. She was a retired employee of Cole's Department Store and a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Milan. Services were Tuesday at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with the Rev. Mary Mitchell and Robert Lambert officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery in Milan.

Ocil W. Hipps, 77, of Friendship, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in the chapel of Halls Funeral Home. Burial took place in Boens Chapel cemetery in Friendship.

Gerald Kenneth "Ken" Daniel, 41, of Bolivar, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center of Memphis. He was a machinist at Vandiver's Sawmill, a carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1981-83 and was a member of Toone Baptist Church.

Eddie Goins, 72, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired truck driver for Terra Fertilizer Co. in Dyersburg and a U.S. Navy veteran. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 11, at Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, located in Dyersburg, with the Rev. Ronald Bowers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jewell Irene Clanton, 93, of McKenzie, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at McKenzie Health Care Center. She was a homemaker. Services were Friday at the McKenzie Church of Christ, where she was a member, with Brother Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie. Brummit Funeral Home in McKenzie was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in McCorkle cemetery in Newbern.

James Franklin Parnell, 63, of Obion, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. He was a former employee of Brown Shoe Co. in Union City and of All Steel in Milan, a U.S. Army veteran, a retired member of the Union City National Guard and a member of First Baptist Church in Obion.

James Nelson Keathley, 85, of Dyersburg, died Monday, July 11, 2005 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center. He was a retired master plumber for Radnor Plumbing and Colonial Rubber Works, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and attended the Tusculum Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
