Services were Sunday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joey Morgan and the Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Burial was in Mount Carmel cemetery in Newbern.

Valgene Rice, 79, of Devils Elbow, Mo., died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood. He was a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Graveside services were held July 16 at Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg. Waynesville Memorial Chapel in Waynesville, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.

Doris McCoy Russell, 69, of Trenton, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her residence. She was a employee of Sylvania and Tennessee Department of Corrections. Services were Saturday at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Bluespring, Miss. with the Rev. Bogen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Rebecca Ann Stem, 65, of Hornbeak, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. She was owner of Crown Manufacturing and a member of Samburg Baptist Church. Services were Sunday at Samburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Mayo officiating. Burial was in New Haven cemetery in Ridgely. White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maxine Breeden Clements, 69, of Ridgely, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Ridgely Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was a retired factory worker of Rolane Manufacturing and a member of the Wynnburg Baptist Church. Services were Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home, Tiptonville Chapel with Rev. Ernest Mayo officiating. Burial was in New Haven cemetery of Ridgely.

Birdie Mae Thompson, 64, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Oakwood Community Living Center. She was a retired factory worker a member of the Baptist faith. Services were held Saturday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Ballinger officiating. Burial was in the Meacham cemetery in Newbern.

Martha Louise Walton, 83, of Newbern, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of Fair Havens Church of Christ. Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. today at Fairview cemetery in Newbern with Wendell Cary officiating. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Sudbury Wylie, 90, of Friendship, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and retired hairdresser. Services were Monday at Friendship Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Melton and the Rev. Wayne Foropoulos officiating. Burial was in the Bellevernon cemetery. Friendship Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Services were held July 28 in the chapel Highland South Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations with the Rev. Dallas Gibson and the Rev. Chris Partain officiating. Burial was in Highland South Memorial Park.
