Floyd Agee

Services for Floyd Agee, 93, Hickman, who died Sunday, Feb. 8, at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Home here, were held 2 p.m. today at Hickman Baptist Church with burial in Charles Baird Memorial cemetery, Hickman. Robert Dewitt Agee and James G. Williams officiated.

His parents were the late Exum Agee and Josie Bates Agee, and his wife was Posye Cornelia Agee, who died April 7, 1997. He was preceded in death by a son, William Floyd Agee, in 1934.

He is survived by two daughters, Fausteen Hodge of North Charleston, S.C., Myra Jones Davenport of Murfreesboro; three granddaughters, Kim Smith of Hickman, Janet Hodge of Charleston, S.C., Carla Penner of St. Joseph, Mich.; and a great-grandson.

A member of Hickman Baptist Church, he was owner and operator of J.F. Agee General Merchandise Store in Hickman for 25 years.

Visitation was held Monday at the Funeral Home and will also be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the church today.

Bass Funeral Home, Gordonsville Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest C. Pruitt

Services for Ernest C. "Dogman" Pruitt, 73, Eagleville, who died Monday, Feb. 9, at York VA Medical Center after an extended illness, are set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens here. The Rev. Tim Fisher and Jimmy Jernigan will officiate.

His parents were the late William and Omega Young Pruitt, and his wife was Eunice Catherine Pugh, who died in 1996.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Jernigan of Murfreesboro, Rita Haskins of College Grove; three sons, Bobby D. Pruitt of Murfreesboro, Billy C. Pruitt of Smyrna, Ernest C. Pruitt of Eagleville; five stepdaughters, Connie Giles of College Grove, Mary Warren of Bell Buckle, Betty Perry of Arrington, Carolyn Shockey, Kathleen Brown, both of Murfreesboro; stepson, Charles Waters of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Alline McCall, Tassie Bolden, both of Eagleville; six brothers, Alton Pruitt of Rover community, Ben Pruitt of Nashville, Gene Pruitt of Eagleville, Haley Pruitt of Nashville, Raymond Pruitt of Gallatin, Will Pruitt Jr. of Council Bluff, Iowa; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

A native of Smith County, and a U.S. Army veteran, he was a disabled truck driver. He was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Roy Campbell Jr.

Services for Roy Dalton Campbell Jr., 64, of Sagefield Court, Smyrna, who died Feb. 9, were held Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home, followed by burial in Greenwood cemetery in Giles County, with the Rev. Mike Eady officiating.

A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Emma Henderson and Roy Dalton Campbell Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Campbell; a stepdaughter, Darlene DeHart of Smyrna; two stepsons, Billy Jo Aldridge, Gary Aldridge; a sister, Hazel Smith of Lawrenceburg; eight stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Mr. Campbell was the manager of E-Z Storage in Smyrna.

A memorial service was held Sunday at Living Springs Baptist Church on Weakley Lane in Smyrna.

Clara McNabb Duggin

Services for Clara McNabb Duggin, McMinnville, who died Friday, Feb. 13, at River Park Hospital, were held 1 p.m. Sunday at High÷s Chapel with burial in Riverside cemetery, Woodbury. The Rev. Carl Smith and Nestor Stewart officiated.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Hailey of Nashville; son, Thomas H. Duggin of McMinnville; two sisters, Lois McKnight of Murfreesboro, Mina Bass of Decatur, Ala.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Her husband was the late Walter Draydon Duggin. She had operated Clara÷s Restaurants since 1947 in Woodbury, McMinnville, Sparta, and Cookeville. She had also operated six Kay÷s Ice Cream Food Shoppes and had still operated Dairy Hill Restaurant on the Beersheba Highway in McMinnville. She developed and managed the McMinnville Shopping Center.

Visitation was held Saturday at the funeral home.

Lynn Parton Barrett

Services for Mrs. Lynn Parton Barrett, 59, of Lofton Road, Lascassas, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, after an extended illness, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lascassas Church of Christ with burial in Milton cemetery, Milton. Paul Gray Cooper and Wymer Wiser will officiate.

Her parents were the late Foster Russell Parton and Grace Rucker Parton.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Barrett of Lascassas; two sons, Phillip Barrett, Russ Barrett, both of Christiana; daughters, Lisa Jenkins of Lewisburg; sister, Gail Montgomery of Lebanon; stepfather, William Tegarden of Lebanon; and three grandchildren.

A native of Wilson County and an employee of Linebaugh Library, she had lived in Rutherford County most of her life and was a member of Lascassas Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Linebaugh Library.

Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the Lascassas Church of Christ where it will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.

James Bozarth

Services for James Bozarth, 77, of Glendale Drive in La Vergne, who died Friday, Feb. 13, at St. Thomas Hospital are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with Ed Anderson and the Rev. Milton Hicks officiating.

A native of Decatur, Ala., he was the son of the late John and Fannie Mae Bozarth.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bozarth; four daughters, Carolyn Haney of La Vergne, Vivian Thomas of Murfreesboro, Betty Fae Villa and Theresa Anglin Godbee, both of La Vergne; a son, Charles Bozarth of Jasper; a brother, Monroe Bozarth of Pontiac, Mich.; a sister, Ruby Warren of Nashville; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was an evangelist, and the owner of La Vergne Welding Shop. He also was retired from Iron Workers Local 492, and a member of Jefferson Pike Church of Christ in La Vergne.

Visitation was held Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Eula Pearl Rucker, 77, Franklin, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, at Williamson County Medical Center, are incomplete and will be announced later by Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

Ivan Brown

Services for Ivan Brown, 88, Southeast Broad Street, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Cotey and the Rev. Mark Gregory will officiate.

A native of Lascassas, his parents were the late Herbert and Hattie Bass Brown.

He is survived by a stepson, Wendell Spicer of Dunlap.

A co-owner of Brown Shoes on the Square for 50 years before he retired, he was a member and former secretary of RutherfordÀCounty Chamber of Commerce, member and past secretary of the One Gallus Fox Hunters Club of Eagleville, and a charter member of Rutherford County Sportsmans Club.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church music department, 200 East Main St., Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mattie Pearl Baskett

Services for Mrs. Mattie "Tulam" Pearl Baskett, 71, Murfreesboro, who died Sunday, Feb. 8, at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Home, are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Graveyard. The Rev. John Ratliff and the Rev. James Vann will officiate.

She is survived by her husband, James Baskett; two brothers, Tom Gray, Ernest Orr of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Ada Gaines, Buelah Hathaway, both of Murfreesboro, and Frances Jordon of Nashville.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. The remains are at Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

James Leath

Services for James "Jim Dandy" Leath, 66, Lascassas, who died at home Sunday, Feb. 8, are set for 7 p.m. Friday at Scales & Sons Funeral Home with burial 10 a.m. Saturday in Emery cemetery.

He is survived by three brothers, John Leath, David Leath, Emanuel Leath; two sisters, Alberta Verge, and Robertha Henry.

The body will lie in state Friday from 5-6 p.m. with visitation from 6-7 p.m. at Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

Lucinda Akins

Services for Mrs. Lucinda "Cindy" Akins, 63, Murfreesboro, who died at home Tuesday, Feb. 24, after an extended illness, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Rucker Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. John Minter will officiate.

Her parents were the late Abe and Fannie Frazier.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Akins; two sons, Donald Akins and Ronald Akins of Murfreesboro; a stepson, Howard W. Pope of Christiana; three daughters, Gwen Drennon, Patricia Akins, Beverly Akins, all of Murfreesboro; sister, Bessie Marlin of Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A member of Brandon View Baptist Church, she was a retired homemaker.

The body will lie in state from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.

Troy Givens

Services for Troy Givens, 31, Forrest Oaks, who died at home Thursday, Feb. 26, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Murray Mathis officiating.

He is survived by his father, Mike Givens of Murfreesboro; mother, Helen Hollingsworth of Murfreesboro; stepfather, Don Hollingsworth of Murfreesboro; and sister, Angie Wesson of Murfreesboro.

A member of Third Baptist Church and a 1985 graduate of Riverdale High School, he was co-owner of Ideal Hairstyling here. He was a local musician and a drummer for the band Mother's Revival.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Marian K. LaCroix

Graveside services for Mrs. Marian Katherine Smith LaCroix, 95, of Eastview Drive, who died Thursday, Feb. 19, at NHC Healthcare after an extended illness, are set for 10 a.m. Monday in San Fernando Mission cemetery, San Fernando, Calif.

Her parents were the late John Smith and Mary D. McNeil Smith, and her husband was the late Joseph Arthur LaCroix.

She is survived by two sons, William Arthur LaCroix of Murfreesboro, Hewitt E. LaCroix of Tewksbury, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she had lived in California for 30 years before moving here four years ago. She was a homemaker.

Raymond D. Ross

Services for Raymond D. Ross, 71, NHC Healthcare, who died Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. Ross Banks will officiate.

His parents were the late Albert Sidney Ross and Maggie Mai Warpoole Ross.

He is survived by three brothers, Howard Ross, Albert Ross Jr., both of Murfreesboro, Roy J. Ross of Nashville; five sisters, Jessie Mai Wrather, Nannie Gannon, Dorothy Winfree, Bessie Sauls, all of Murfreesboro, and Alice Russell of New Johnsonville.

A member of Wilson Line Baptist Church, he was a former employee of Evergreen cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.
