Misty Dawn Odom

Misty Dawn Odom, age 29, passed away September 3, 2004 in Murfreesboro. A native of Davidson Co. she had lived in Rutherford Co. most of her life. A secretary for Elite Collision, and a member of Haint Hollow Baptist Church.

Survived by parents Bobby Rutledge, Sr. and Doris Raab Rutledge of Eagleville; husband Chris J. W. Odom of Murfreesboro; son Noah Hunter Odom of Murfreesboro; brothers, Bobby (Kristy) Rutledge, Jr., James Morgan (Michelle) Rutledge and Steven Rutledge. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, Sept. 7th at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Dan Milliken officiating. Interment icon will follow the service at Rocky Glade cemetery in Eagleville.

Visitation with the family 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Jennings and Ayers Chapel.

Johnnie R. McCullough

Johnnie R. McCullough, 81, of Lascassas, a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, passed away Sept. 7, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was preceded in death by parents Johnnie Clinton and Maggie Swaner McCullough. He was also preceded in death by first wife Bertha Manus McCullough and second wife Jewell Clinton McCullough; brother Billy McCullough; sisters Lucille Arnold and Sarah Manus.
He is survived by sons James McCullough, of Nashville, Roger McCullough, of Murfreesboro; daughters Edna McCullough Maloy, of La Vergne, and Carrol D. Patrick, of Gainesboro; sisters Bessie Lokey, of Fort Worth, Texas, Polly Kinnard, of Murfreesboro, and Jo Ann Spence, of Hammond, La.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy and a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Marion Caruthers officiating. Interment icon will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN. 893-2422.

BERTHA MARIE FLAUTT

Bertha Marie Flautt, age 88 passed away Sept. 7, 2004 at Middle Tn Medical Center. A native of Inman, Virginia she had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 4 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ballard and Vicie Monday Olinger and her husband,

Robert Edward Flautt, died in 1970.

Mrs. Flautt is survived by her son, Joel Flautt of Murfreesboro; a brother, James Olinger of Eagleville and a sister, Hazel Cox of Dazell, South Carolina.

Service will be held 2:00 p. m. Friday, Sept. 10 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Mayo and Rev. Tommy Perkins officiating. Interment icon will follow in Springhill cemetery in Madison.

Visitation with the family will be 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Thursday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

RUTHIE BELL YORK EDWARDS

Ruthie Bell York Edwards, age 75, of Murfreesboro, passed away September 8, 2004 at NHC. A native and life long resident of Rutherford Co. she retired from Chromolox Corp and was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by parents, Mont Herman York, Sr. and Archie Swindell York, by son; Ben Allen Edwards, brother Leslie York, and sister, Hazel Underwood.

Survivors include her husband, Edd M. Edwards, Sr. of Murfreesboro; sons Kenneth Edwards of Murfreesboro; Eddie (Peggy) Edwards of Christiana; daughter Jean (Mac)

Williamson of Christiana; brothers, Marlin (Nancy) York – Somerset, KY; James S. (Jeane) York and Herman (Darla) York of Murfreesboro, Nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Service for Mrs. Edwards will be Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers

Chapel, with Jerry Whitworth officiating, interment icon will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

JAMES KENNETH SMITH

James Kenneth Smith, age 60 of Christiana, passed away at his residence Sept. 10, 2004. A native and life long resident of Rutherford Co., he was a sheet metal worker, a mechanic and a farmer and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Valta Victory Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Helen Haven Smith of Christiana; children, Helen Rucker, of McMinnville, Kathy Rusho of Nashville, Kenny Smith of Christiana, Randall Smith of Smyrna, Sandra Smith of Christiana; brother, Clarence Hildon Smith of Christiana; grandchildren, Erica Warren, Shaena Upton, Garrett Rucker, Cali Smith and Kendall Smith.

Services will be 11:00 a. m. Monday, September 13, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Kevin Payne officiating. Interment icon will be in Riverside cemetery in Woodbury. Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p. m. Sunday at Jennings and Ayers,

820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro.

Mattie Laura Haislip

Mattie Laura Haislip, age 73 of Readyville, passed away at her residence, September 13, 2004. A native and life long resident of Rutherford County, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Harley Dubois and Maude Laura Cobb Dubois.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore Haislip of Readyville; three sons; Gregory Wayne Haislip of Murfreesboro, Zachary Scott Haislip of Rockvale, James Michael Haislip of Murfreesboro, two daughters; Wanda Faye Benfield of Murfreesboro and Vickie Lynn Johnson of Louisiana, Brother; Edmond Dubois of Murfreesboro, three sisters; Lillie Mae Jones of Murfreesboro, Ida Belle Layhew of Bradley's Creek Community, and Tommi Lee Merryman of Illinois. She has 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Woodrow Medlock officiating. Interment icon will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens following the service. Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday September 14, 2004 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church St, M'boro, TN. 615-893-2422

OLIVE LOUISE HEATH

Olive Louise Heath, age 88, passed away Monday September 13, 2004 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Westmoreland County, PA. She lived in Murfreesboro for the past three years and she was a member of the First Methodist Church of South Greensburg, PA.

All who knew her will miss her sense of humor and kind heart. She was employed at Holiday Inn in New Stanton, PA. and was an avid Steelers Fan. She will be greatly missed by those she left behind. It is time to say goodbye as the angels take you home to God to be with your family and friends in heaven. We will miss you with all our hearts where you will remain with us forever.

Preceded in death by her husband; George Russell Heath, parents; John Per and Myrtle Agnes Wadsworth Westerland, daughter; Beverly Louise Bisel and sister; Gladys E. Hopper.

Survivors include two sons; Robert Russell Heath of Christiana, TN., and Charles Augustus Heath of Murfreesboro, TN., one daughter; Candace Darlene Strother of California., fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, September 17, 2004 at Kepple Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg, PA., with interment icon to follow in the Westmoreland Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2004. at the Kepple Graft Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday September 14, 2004 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church, Murfreesboro, TN. 615-893-2422.

JOHN EDWARD THOMAS

John Edward Thomas, age 75, of Murfreesboro, Tn, September 15, 2004 at Middle Tn Medical Center. A native of Inkster, Michigan he had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 20 years. He was a retired police officer in Garden City, Michigan and a U. S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, he was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents; John Edward and Florence Parsons Thomas. Survivors include his wife Carol Patricia Roberts Thomas of Murfreesboro; brother, Carl Thomas and sister, Virginia Wanat both of Michigan.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel, with Rev. Charles Ray officiating and burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

William Raymond Stiltner

William Raymond Stiltner, 69, of Shelbyville, died Sept. 15, 2004, at his residence. A native of Elk Horne City, Ky., he lived in Shelbyville for the past 11 years. He was a truck driver with Briggs Truck line and a retired teamster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by parents Noah Paris and Elizabeth Conley Stiltner; brother Roy Edward Stiltner; and sisters Stella Belcher, Mary Williams and Hazel Belcher and Marie Stiltner.

Survivors include wife Linda Stiltner, of Shelbyville; son David Ray Stiltner, of Murfreesboro; daughter Rhonda (Andrew) Ricci, of Plainfield, Ill.; sisters Ruby Damron and Ann Jackson, both of Kentucky, and June Belcher, of Virginia, Mahala Matney, of Ohio, Kathleen Helton, of Tennessee; beloved companions Rachel and Bijou, his dogs, and Cleo, his cat.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Owen Ivery, Daryl Whaley and his nephew, Doug Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in Bradley's Creek cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN. 893-2422.

Keith Allan Buchholz

Keith Allan Buchholz, age 37, of Murfreesboro passed away in Baltimore, Md., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004.

Born in Milwaukee, Wis., he had lived in Murfreesboro and Louisiana most of his life. He was in construction with United Towers and a member of the Lutheran church.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Allan Bentley and Carl and Alma Buchholz.

Survivors include his parents, Dennis Buchholz and stepmother Elaine of West Lake, La.; mother Sharon Bentley Hobbs and stepfather Roger Hobbs of Murfreesboro; sister Lori (Dale) Thomas of Rockvale; brother Kenneth (Dana) Buchholz of Rockvale; grandmother Carmen Bentley; stepgrandmother Johnnie Hobbs; stepbrothers Kirk Ellis and Ronnie Hobbs; stepsisters Lee Walters and Rhonda Fite; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Jennings and Ayers Chapel. Don Morris will officiate.

Burial will follow in Windrow cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jennings and Ayers.

George Edward Shelkey

George Edward Shelkey, age 62, passed away at his residence in Eagleville, Sept. 20, 2004. A native of Easthampton, Mass. He had lived in Eagleville for the past four years and was a sheet metal mechanic and a Vietnam Veteran with the U. S. Army.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with the Rev. Trey Lambert officiating.

Preceded in death by his parents; Harry and Alida Broulitte Shelkey.

Survivors include his wife; Mary A. Brin Shelkey of Eagleville, two sons, Christopher Shelkey of Massachusetts and William Shelkey, of Eagleville; brother Harry Shelkey of Virginia.; seven grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. until service time today.

Sarah Annie Boyce Price

Services for Sarah Annie Boyce Price, age 92 of Murfreesboro, who died September 21, 2004 at National Health Care will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. David Moody will officiate and her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

She was the daughter of Eddie and Russie Sanders Boyce and was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Price, Sr., her daughter, Christine Robichaud, her brother Jesse Boyce, great- grandson, Corey Price, nieces and nephews; Margie Boyce Tincher. Thomas Boyce, J. W. Boyce, Wayne Boyce and Marie Boyce May. .

She is survived by sons; Ed Price, Jr. (Dot) of Acworth, Ga., James W. Price (Thelma) of Murfreesboro, son-in-law, Don Robichaud of Murfreesboro, nephew, Jess Boyce of Petersburg, niece Libby Crossland of Chino, Calif.; 13 grandchildren: Mike Robichaud, Sherry Bennett, Brenda Bailey, Tim Robichaud, Cindy Moody, Donna Haynes, David Price, Vicki Hendricks, Pam Burgess, Eddie Price, III., Steve Price, Sandy Hill and Brian Price, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Born in Marshall County, she lived most of her life in Bedford and Rutherford counties. She completed eighth grade at Green Hill School in Bedford County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW # POST 4575 and had worked at Buser Ribbon Mill, Central High School cafeteria and Sullivan's Dept. Store. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing and she spent many hours visiting and playing games with the patients at the V A hospital.

A Special thank you to those at National Health Care and to Moranda Adams for taking good care of her.

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St.

Gladys Nadine Ferrell

Gladys Nadine Ferrell, age 67, of Woodbury, passed away Sept. 22, 2004, at National Health Care. A native of Cannon County, she had lived most of her life in Rutherford County. She was a former employee of Campbell's Sportswear in Woodbury in the pressing department, and she was a member of Dillon St. Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles William and Cindy Anna Smithson Jones.

Survivors include her husband, John Griffin Ferrell of Woodbury; sons Bobby Ray Gunter, Jerry Wayne Gunter and Jimmy Dean Gunter, all of Christiana;. daughters JoAnn Johnson, of Woodbury, and Rita Faye Waller, of Madison; sisters Nora Tittle, Inez Rogers, Jo Jones and Joyce Smotherman, all of Murfreesboro, and Judy Bible of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Bro. Al Buckta and Butch Martin officiating with burial to follow in Whitworth cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. today and Friday at Jennings and Ayers Chapel. 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN 893-2422.
