IRENE BENNETT BALDWIN

Irene Bennett Baldwin, 92, died Oct. 31, 2004 at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia. She was born in Iuka, Mississippi to the late William T. Bennett and Josephine Bennett Sing . In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward B. Baldwin, Sr. and a sister Katherine Bennett Harrison.

Irene was a long time resident of Murfreesboro, having moved there with her family in 1939. She was an educator having received a BA degree from Peabody College and MA from MTSU. She taught in the Murfreesboro City School System at Mitchell Nielson and was principal at Bellwood from the time it opened until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Murfreesboro First United Methodist Church, the Ann Huggins Sunday School, the Craddock Study Club and the Dames Club at MTSU.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward, Jr. and Elizabeth Baldwin of Dalton, GA. Three grandchildren, Elizabeth Dianne and husband David Wayne Robinson of Richmond, VA, Edward Baldwin, III and wife Tisha of Brentwood, TN and William and wife Marci of Kansas City, MO. Six great-grandchildren, David, Sarah, Katherine Robinson, Jameson, Brock and Trenton Baldwin, and special friend Martha Tucker.

Service for Mrs. Baldwin will be at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004 with Rev. Jerry Mayo officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Murfreesboro First United Methodist Church.

DAVID A. HAMBLIN

David A. Hamblin, age 55, passed away at Middle Tn Medical Center, October 30, 2004. Born in Logan, West Virginia, he was a former State Trooper in Williamson, West Virginia and lived in Murfreesboro since 1996 and was a veteran with the U. S. Marine Corps. He was presently employed with Darrell Waltrip Honda in Franklin, TN.

Preceded in death by his mother; Millison Spaulding Hamblin, he is survived by his father; Warren Hamblin of Princeton, West Virginia, his wife Peggy Lee Parker Hamblin,

Sons; Ryan Hamblin and Christopher Hamblin both of Murfreesboro; step-daughter; Christina Keaton of Murfreesboro, step-son; Brian Pinson of Murfreesboro, brothers; Jim Hamblin of Tazewell, WV and Peter Hamblin of Bluewell, WV, sisters; Donna Morgan of Johnson City, TN, Elizabeth Moore of Cary, NC, Mary Jane Shavor of Lubbock, TX and Margaret Wood of Princeton, WV, a special aunt Kathleen Scott of Bluewell, WV, grandchild; Savannah Keaton of Murfreesboro and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Jennings and Ayers Chapel.

Visitation with the family will be 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

SIM THOMPSON McKNIGHT, Jr.

Tommy McKnight, Jr. age 71 of Murfreesboro, died at Middle Tn Medical Center, Monday November 1, 2004. A native and life long resident of Rutherford Co., he was a supervisor over Electrical, Plumbing and Welding Shops at Middle Tn State University. He was in the U. S. Army in the Korean Conflict.

Preceded in death by his parents; Sim Thompson, Sr. and Violet Jane Sanders McKnight.

Survivors include his wife; Linda Benson McKnight of Murfreesboro, sons; Robert (Mary Ann) McKnight and Marty ( Michelle) McKnight of Murfreesboro, daughters; Pam (Chuck) LeMay and Susan ( Mark) Lester of Murfreesboro, sister; Ann (Bob) Wheeler of Waverly, TN.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Bro. Ron Harper officiating and burial in Wards Grove cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Taylor, Bobby Miller, Eugene Bradford, Floyd Smotherman, Charles Bowman and Matthew Royal.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Lester, Robert McKnight, Danny Guthrie, Marty McKnight, Chuck LeMay, Josh LeMay.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

ANNA LEE SALYER

Anna Lee Salyer, age 73, of Murfreesboro, passed away at her residence, Sunday October 31, 2004. A native of Osborn, Ky, she had lived in Indiana for 40 years before moving to Murfreesboro 15 years ago, she was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; Everett and Dosha Angel Sturgell. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Salyer of Murfreesboro, sons; Bill Salyer and Bob Salyer both of Murfreesboro, daughter; Jennifer Bivins of Murfreesboro, brother; Loy Vaughn Sturgell of Indiana, sister; Louise McCarty of Milton, TN, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Brian Hughes officiating, interment icon will be in Evergreen cemetery, grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at Jennings and Ayers. 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

HAROLD F. DURFEE

HAROLD F. DURFEE of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Vass, North Carolina and Binghamton, NY

Harold F. Durfee, 74, of Murfreesboro, TN, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 in Murfreesboro.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte A. Durfee of Murfreesboro; a son, Kevin Durfee, of Hanford, CA; 2 daughters, Karen Durfee, Ithaca, NY, Kelly Durfee, Alpharetta, GA; three stop-sons, Kevin Stockholm of Murfreesboro, David Stockholm of Lacona, N.Y., Christopher Stockholm of Lexington, S.C.; one grandson, Keaton Jacobs; 7 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Fred and Myrtle Durfee; sisters, Thelma Corwin, Geraldine Charlier; three brothers, George, Clyde and Richard.

He was a retired I.B.M. Employee with 30 ½ years of service from 1955 to 1985. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U. S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the American Legion post #1254, Binghamton, NY, where he served as Commander twice. He was a past county Vice Commander twice, a past County Commander and Dept. Sergeant at Arms.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Willie Floyd Young, Sr.

Willie Floyd Young, Sr. age 56, of the Leanna Community, died Thursday, November 3, 2004. A native and life long resident of Rutherford Co. he was an electrician with the Stones River Electric Company and he was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents; Joe and Mai Roberson Young, and sister; Maxine Ashley.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Renna Castillo Young, of Leanna, Sons; Willie Young of Murfreesboro, Bo Young of Madison; daughters, Melissa Biase and Terry Mitchell both of Alabama; brothers; Bobby Young of Leanna, Roger Young, of New York, Walter Young of Woodbury; sisters, Juanita Merritt of Readyville, Helen Nipper and Wanda Hall both of Murfreesboro and Linda Davis of KY and 9 grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel, the Rev. Kevin Barrett will officiate and burial will follow in Bethel cemetery in the Leanna Community.

Visitation with the family will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN.

JoAnn Blythe Brown

JoAnn Blythe Brown, age 66, of Murfreesboro, died Nov. 6, 2004 at Middle Tn Medical Center. A native of Rutherford Co, she retired from Whirlpool and was a homemaker. She attended the Fairhavens Independent Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; George J. and Ida McGowen Blythe and a sister; Nadine Brown.

Survivors include her husband; James Brown of Murfreesboro, son, Jimmy Joe Bratcher of Bedford County, daughters; Cindy Helton, Dorris Ann Allemand and Brandy Lynn Allemand of Murfreesboro, brothers; Allen Blythe and George Blythe both of Murfreesboro, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Steve Goforth, Wilburn Blythe and Boyd Styles will officiate.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN.

DOROTHY JEAN REED

Dorothy Jean Reed, age 61, of Woodbury died at Middle Tn Medical Center, Nov. 11, 2004. A native of Cannon Co. she had lived most of her life in Rutherford Co, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Daughter of the late Charlie and Mamie Rowland Reed, she is survived by sons; Christopher Lowe of Murfreesboro and David Michael Lowe of Woodbury; daughters, Sharon Wrye of Lebanon, Tina Collins of Murfreesboro, Karen Furches of Woodbury and Lakita Victory of Christiana, and special friend; Marvin Pittard, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel, Woodrow Medlock will officiate. Burial to follow in Evergreen cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro.

ELIZABETH HUDSON MITCHELL

Elizabeth Hudson Mitchell, age 85 of Murfreesboro, passed away November 14, 2004 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born in Shubuta, MS., and lived in Rutherford County about eighteen months. She was a member of the Briarwood United Methodist Church of Jackson, MS., and attended the Ann Huggins Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro while living in Murfreesboro. She retired from J. C. Penney Company and the State of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas Floyd and Mabel Owen Hudson, and two sisters; Margaret Hudson McIntyre of Columbus, MS., Mabel Hudson Shirley of Laurel, MS., and one brother; Thomas Floyd Hudson of Shubuta, MS., and one son; Thomas Franklin Mitchell.

Beloved mother of son and daughter-in-law; Jerry Calvin and Thelma Becker Mitchell of Murfreesboro, daughter; Jacqueline Warren White of Jackson, MS., daughter-in-law; Margaret Lee Mitchell (Thomas Franklin Mitchell deceased) of Jackson, MS., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sister-in-law; Janette Jones Hudson of Shubuta, MS., and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson, MS., with the Reverend Brad Hodges officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Lakewood cemetery in Clinton, MS. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson, MS. Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.

Rose Marie Cook

Rose Marie Cook, age 87 of Murfreesboro, died Nov. 18, 2004 at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury. She was a native of Maybee, Michigan and had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 9 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by parents; John and Lena Bogedain Westein, sons; Raymond

Frances Cook and Wilbert William Cook, daughters; Kathleen Ann Cook and Barbara Allyne Cook.

Survivors include her husband; Leonard William Cook of Murfreesboro, sons; William Henry Cook of Trenton, Michigan, Leonard Joseph Cook of Murfreesboro, Russell Edward Cook of Milan, Michigan, and Daniel Herbert Cook of Tawas City, Michigan, daughters; Gladys Helena Rothman of Maybee, Michigan and Linda Lee Boyce of Murfreesboro, sisters; Elizabeth Siterlet and Lucy Witkop, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a. m. Sunday, Nov. 28th at Heaven Bound Baptist Church, with Bro. Ralph Boyd officiating. Visitation with the family will follow after the memorial service at the church.

Ruth Lillyan Novak Tripp

Ruth Lillyan Novak Tripp, age 82, died at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Sunday November 28, 2004. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 4 years. Mrs. Tripp was a Member of the First Baptist Church in Willowick, Ohio, and a Homemaker.

Preceded in death by her parents; the late Frank Joseph and Jennifer Manek Novak; her husband, the late Edwin A. Tripp, Sr. Two brothers: Frank and Edward Novak.

Survivors include her sons, Edwin A. Tripp, Jr. of Olympia, WA, and Jonathan Wayne Tripp of Frisco, TX; one daughter, Terry Lynne Walker of Murfreesboro; ten grandchildren; Cynthia, Terry, Bart, Rachel, Jeremy, Jennifer, Stephanie, Julianne, Jonathan and Ariel; five great-grandchildren, Charissa , Hunter, Audrey and Carleigh.

Funeral service will be held, 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Ron Byers officiating. Interment icon will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

JONATHAN KALEB IKEARD

Graveside service for Jonathan Kaleb Ikeard who passed away Nov. 29, 2004 at Middle Tn Medical Center, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Clark-Butner cemetery, Beech Grove, with Paul Ikeard officiating.

His parents are Travis Ikeard and Krysta Leshay Clark of Murfreesboro. Grandparents; John and Molly Clark and Shenita Mai Ikeard and Jonathan Anderson, sisters; Ericka Ikeard and Debra Ikeard, five uncles; Paul Ikeard, Denotae Ikeard, Josh Smotherman, Ryan Smotherman and Weston Smotherman, 5 aunts and 10 cousins.

Family and friends please meet at Jennings and Ayers at 12:30 p.m. Thursday for procession to cemetery.

GLEN HARLEY WALDEN

Glen Harley Walden, age 69, of Murfreesboro, died Nov. 30, 2004 at StoneCrest Hospital in Smyrna. A native of Pendle, Arkansas, he had lived in Murfreesboro for the past eleven years and employed by Yates Services at Nissan.

Son of the late Clara P. Moore Walden and widower of the late Annie Vee Raymond Walden.

Survivors include sons; Phillip Walden of Murfreesboro, Charles Walden of Chattanooga and Richard Walden of Murfreesboro and stepson; Clyde Hooper of Arkansas, Step daughter; Virginia Colbert and sister; Mable Goodwin both of Little Rock, Arkansas, 5 grandchildren.

Service will be 11:00 a. m. Dec. 4, 2004 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating and burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro

CHARLES SATTERFIELD

Charles Satterfield of Murfreesboro, Tenn. died Saturday December 4, 2004. Born February 3, 1934, in Knoxville, Tenn. to Cass and Elsie Mae Satterfield. He is survived by his wife Pat, his son Mike, wife Debbie, grandchildren Kate and Quinten, daughter Myra Farmer, husband Paul, grandchildren Ben, Ethan and Sadie, all of Bloomington, Ind., son David Gardner, his wife Dawn of La Pel, Ind., and daughter Dawn Key, husband Rod, grandchildren Colton and Olivia of Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was a craftsman.

Charles was the second of ten children. His surviving siblings are Phyllis, wife of Everett Kirkland of Vanleer, Tenn., Libby, wife of Delbert Corbin of Columbia, Ky., Laverne, wife of Tom Selby of Sarasota Fla., Mary, wife of Bill Walsh of Rocky Mount Mo., Carolyn Hays of Dickson, Tenn., Edward Satterfield, husband of Mary Ann of McEwen, Tenn., Pam, wife of Lee Brown, Kathy, wife of John Boyers, all of Vanleer, Tenn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lesley Ann Chadwell Satterfield, and brother William.

Visitation will be held at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, Tenn. from 3 pm to 8 pm on Monday December 6th. Charles' funeral service will be held at the same location at 10 am on Tuesday December 7th with Rev. Vernon Burrow officiating. His body will be laid to rest at Jones Hill cemetery in Watertown, Tennessee. All who wish to celebrate Charles' life are encouraged to send memorial gifts to Hospice of Murfreesboro in gratitude for providing comfort to him and his family.
