Annie Harriman Adams, age 75, of Nashville, passed away on February 23, 2009 at Alive Hospice of Nashville.

She was a member of the Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie Foster Harriman; her husband, Henry F. Adams; one brother, James Edward Harriman; and one sister, Lucille Harriman.

She is survived by one brother, Bobby (Sandra) Harriman; one niece, Vanessa Harriman of Murfreesboro; and by her girls at Phases Rehabilitation Center.

Chapel services will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 with Tina Mitchell officiating.

Private burial with the family will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 at Evergreen cemetery.

Jean Marie Ayers

Jean Marie Ayers, age 68, of Murfreesboro, passed away on August 19, 2005 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

She was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County.

She was a retired school teacher of 38 years with the Rutherford County School System.

She was a member of the Walter Hill Church of Christ.

She was a founding member of the Murfreesboro Pleasure Riders and a member of the Murfreesboro Doll Club.

She is preceded in death by; her parents, Matthew M. and Edna Short Drake; and husband, Kenneth Ayers.

She is survived by; two sons, Stanley Alan Ayers and daughter-in-law Terri, and Stephen Drake Ayers and daughter-in-law Teresa all of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Amy, Jason, Michelle and Jason R. Ayers; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Conner Ayers.

Also survived by special friend and companion, Emmett Goodman.

A chapel service will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Brother Paul Norwood officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers are Jason Ayers, Buddy Drake, David Gentry, Bill Jeffrey, Gaylord Dorn, Chuck Parham, Wallace Kelly and Jason R. Ayers.

Elders and deacons of Walter Hill Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Pauline Huddleston Alsup

Pauline Huddleston Alsup, 89, passed away on January 20, 2007 at National Health Care in Murfreesboro.

She was a native of Wilson County, lived in Nashville most of her life and moved to Murfreesboro in 1975.

She was a member of East Main Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas Anthony and Effie Patterson Huddleston, brothers; Claude Anthony Huddleston, John Morgan Huddleston, and Riley Collis Huddleston.

She is survived by two sisters; Etta Mae Adams of Murfreesboro, and Hermene Denney Lea of Murfreesboro, three nieces; Beverly Denney, Judy Adamson, and Susie Huddleston, four nephews; Tony Huddleston, Leon Huddleston, Wayne Huddleston, and Johnnie Huddleston.

A graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Huddleston cemetery in Wilson County with Wayne Lankford officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422.

Charles David Anderson

Charles David Anderson, age 74 of Beechgrove, passed away Friday April 15, 2005 at his residence. A native of Davidson County, he had lived in Rutherford County most of his life, retired from Middle TN Mental Health Institution, a former barber in Murfreesboro and a member of the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Virgil Bugg Anderson; brothers, Clayton Anderson and J. T. Anderson; sisters Gladys Anderson and Nadine (Tiny) Hobbs.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Peggy Carver Anderson of Beechgrove; son Charlie (Peggy) Anderson of Murfreesboro; daughter Sherry Anderson of Woodbury; sister Dorothy Phipps of Smyrna; and two grandchildren Amanda Barrett and David Sloat.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Medlock officiating and burial in Coleman cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

Mary Ann (Lucy) Ashburn

Mary Ann (Lucy) Ashburn, age 49 passed away Monday October 15, 2007 at Skyline Madison Campus.

She is a native of Rutherford County.

Mrs. Ashburn was preceded in death by her father; Willie Joe Tidwell.

She is survived by her husband Greg Ashburn of Murfreesboro, mother; Louise Tidwell of Murfreesboro; ; two sons, Michael Fortune and Mickey Tidwell both of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Joe Tidwell and Terry Tidwell both of Murfreesboro; and one sister, Clara Belcher of AK. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside services for Mrs. Ashburn will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at Bradley's Creek cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from Noon until 1:15 pm on Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN.

Gladys Lucille Garrett Anderson

Gladys Lucille Garrett Anderson, age 84, of Murfreesboro, passed away on January 28, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

She was a native of Wilson County and a homemaker.

Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her parents; Kitty and Jim Hall of Lebanon; her husband, J.T. Anderson; two brothers, Bud Hall and James Hall of Lebanon; and two sisters, Mai Rex and Lorene Smith of Wilson County.

She is survived by one daughter, Franell (Jack) McCrary-Nabors; one son, Jimmy (Cherly) David Garrett; grandchildren, Scotty and Molly Campbell of Murfreesboro, Traci and Randall Allen of Murfreesboro, Brian and Elizabeth Garrett of Murfreesboro, Lisa and Darren Thompson, Chris and Carrie Garrett, Matthew (Kristy) Garrett; great-grandchildren, Amber Renee Campbell, Emily, Chandeler, Kyle, Kasey, Mason, Reagan Garrett; step- grandson, Cory Allen of Cookeville; step-daughter, Nadine and Jim Cook of Georgia; and step-granddaughter, Becky Nabors of Murfreesboro.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Pastor John Tipton officiating.

Burial will follow Evergreen cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Stephen Baxter Alexander

Stephen Baxter Alexander, age 22 of Bell Buckle passed away, Sunday October 12, 2008 at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

A native and life long resident or Rutherford County, he was a member of the Southridge Church of Christ.

Stephen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Louise Alexander.

He is survived by his parents, James and Kathy Green Alexander of Bell Buckle; sisters, Kristin Nicole Corrozzo and Misty Dawn Alexander both of Murfreesboro; niece, Chelsea Corrozzo of Murfreesboro; maternal grandparents, Bobby and Bobbie Green and his Extended family with the Special Kids.

The family would like to express a special Thanks to the nurses and staff at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for their loving care for Stephen.

Funeral service for Stepen will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Jason Page officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Cousins will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN

Ruth McCord Adams

Ruth McCord Adams, age 80 of Murfreesboro, passed away in Chattanooga, Tuesday April 18, 2006.

A native of Crane, Missouri, she was a homemaker and former church secretary at Grace Lutheran Church in Murfreesboro.

She was an active member of the Faith Fellowship Sunday School Class and Franklin Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Harrison McCord and Ella Greenway McCord of Verona, MO, her husband William Glenn Adams, and daughter Sue Stevenson of Murfreesboro.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Julie and Doug Hawks of Chattanooga and step-daughter Glenda Callaway of Bolivar, MO; a brother Darrel McCord of Verona, MO: 5 grandchildren, Jill (Greg) Moody, Jennifer (Gabriel) Moore and Janice Stevenson of Murfreesboro: Brendan and Eryn Hawks of Chattanooga; and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Kelan and Jillian Moody and Noel Moore.

Service time for Mrs. Adams will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2006 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Dr. Tom Wallace and Rev. Mike Norris officiating and burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Cornelia Reeves Alexander

Cornelia Reeves Alexander, age 93, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Adams Place in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Wayne Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late R. C. Reeves and Viola Bragg Reeves.

She was a lifelong member of East Main Church of Christ.

She was the star center on the 1932 Murfreesboro Central High basketball team, which won the State Championship under Coach Baxter Hobgood.

She was a nurse, having trained at St. Thomas and Rutherford Hospitals.

She retired from the Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital at the age of 74.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, J. M. Alexander. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cull of Murfreesboro, son Dr. James M. Alexander and wife Judy P. Alexander of Greenville, South Carolina, and son John W. Alexander and wife, Susan Alexander, of Winnsboro, Texas; a sister, Mary Sue Johnson of Gardnerville, Nevada; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Active pallbearers are the grandsons, great grandsons and other family members.

Honorary pallbearers are the men of East Main Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN

Michael Blair Ashworth

Michael Blair Ashworth, age 52, passed away on May 10, 2008 at his residence.

He was a native of Davidson County, but lived in Murfreesboro for the past 10 years.

He worked as an assistant supervisor with American Constructors Inc. He attended the Baptist Church.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother Mary Ashworth.

He is survived by his father and step-mother Sam and Dorothy Ashworth of Nashville, TN daughter, Amanda Ashworth of Nashville, TN and brothers; Phil Ashworth of Antioch, TN and Wayne Ashworth of Old Hickory, TN.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating.

Charles Lester Adcock

Charles Lester Adcock, age 87 of Murfreesboro passed away Monday December 10, 2007 at Stones River Hospital.

He was a native of Rutherford County.

After retiring from the U S Air Force he raised Tennessee Walking Horses and he was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents, Elam and Maggie Dee Arnold Adcock; brother, Kenneth Adcock and a sister, Ruth Adcock Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Briley Queen Adcock of Murfreesboro; a special sister-in-law, Mary Nell Adcock and four nieces and one nephew.

Funeral service for Mr. Adcock will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 13, 2007 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Perkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be David Adams, Jack Stevens, Jack Stevens, Jr, Floyd Freeman, Michael Illic, Billy Joe Adcock, Charlie Stanley, Fred Wheeler, Cliff Cowan and Bill Shacklett.

Reverend S. P. Arnold

Reverend S. P. Arnold, age 87 of Readyville, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 at his residence.

A native and life long resident of Rutherford County, Rev. Arnold was a retired minister and farmer in Rutherford County.

Rev. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; Horace P. Arnold and Hattie Donnell Arnold; and two brothers, Roy Arnold and Carl Arnold.

Rev. Arnold is survived by; his wife, Ruby Arnold of Readyville; two sons, Melvin (Martha) Arnold of Marietta, GA and Eddie Arnold of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Eliza Sissom of Shelbyville, TN, Claytie Lowe of Murfreesboro, TN and Navetta James of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren; Melva Lebhaft, Shannon Holland and Alex Arnold; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Lebhaft and Kinslee Lebhaft.

Funeral services for Rev. Arnold will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Big Creek Baptist Church on Big Springs Road with Bro. Morris Broyles and Bro. Johnny Donnell officiating.

Burial will follow in Thyatira cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Arnold, Ray Holland, David Lebhaft, Edmund James, Joe Allen, Grant Kelley, James Mangram, and Odie Lee Earls.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN.

The body will lie in state at the Big Creek Baptist Church from 1:00 until 1:45 prior to the funeral at 2:00 pm.

Della Frances Neal Allen

Della Frances Neal Allen, age 87, of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Summitt Medical Center.

She was a native and life long resident of Murfreesboro.

She was a member of Stones River Church of Christ. . She was a homemaker.

Preceded in death by; husband Arville Allen; parents, Auther B. and Helen McInturff Neal; son, Reggie Ray Allen; brother, Auther B. Neal Jr; sisters; Joyce Duke, Dorris Ann Sullivan, Margaret Singleton, Evelyn Coe, Annie Daggett, and Betty Jean Lane.

She is survived by; daughter, Frances Marie Allen Jenkins of Smyrna, TN; sister, Verliah Bruce; five step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Chapel service will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday May 24, 2005 at Jennings & Ayers Chapel.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Carver officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2005.

Johnnie Mai Lane Allison

Johnnie Mai Lane Allison, age 91 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 at Community Care of Rutherford County.

She was a native of Wilson County in the Norene Community but lived most of her life in Rutherford County.

She retired from White Stag Company and was a member of the Walter Hill Church of Christ.

Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her first husband, Myles Lane and later her husband, Ray S. Allison; parents, Charlie T. and Frances L. O'Neal Timbs; she was also preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers. She is survived by sons, Jerry Lane of Murfreesboro and Dalton Lane of Rockvale; daughters, Evelyn Harrelson of Nashville, Janice Warren of Orlanda, FL, Helen Warren and Myles Boone both of Murfreesboro and a brother, Harley Timbs of LaMirada, CA.

Funeral service for Mrs. Allison will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Paul Norwood officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Viola White Cooke Agee

Viola White Cooke Agee, age 91, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Stone Crest Medical Center.

A native of Christiana, she lived in Old Hickory most of her life but had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 2 years. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Agee was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Pearl Jakes Cooke; brother, Morris Cooke and sisters, June Brenham and Magnus Snoddy.

She is survived by two sons; Donald Wesley Agee and wife Sue of Murfreesboro and Howard Wayne Agee of Helenia Island, South Carolina; brother, Bill Cooke of Dickson, TN; sister, Bobbie Cooke of Dickson and 4 grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2006 at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Nashville.

Dr. Lenny Farmer will officiate.
