Elmer Frisbee

Elmer Frisbee, 65, of Hartford, left to his eternal rest on March 23.
Elmer was a crop and cattle farmer in the New Prospect Community in the Hartford area. He was also a faithful member of the New Prospect Church.
Elmer was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Frisbee; parents, Martin and Eliza Frisbee; brothers, Coy and Lee Frisbee; and sister, Opal Hill.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 46 years, Leaston Frisbee of Hartford; children, Kenneth and Jackie Frisbee of Newport, Earl and Debbie Frisbee, Gene and Lisa Frisbee of Hartford, Vinson and Susan Frisbee, and Teresa and Fred Laws of Newport; grandchildren, Shelby Freeman, and Candace, Kevin, Jessica, Eric, Caleb, Bethany, and Hannah Laws; great-grandchild, Chase Freeman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie and Anita Frisbee of Hartford and Carl and Alvonia Frisbee of Newport; and sisters and brother-in-law, Selma and Fred Ogle of Newport, Lula Williams of Hartford, Helen Frisbee of Newport and Betty Frisbee of Del Rio.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at New Prospect Church with Rev. Arthur Willis and Rev. Randall Frisbee officiating, with burial in Rathbone-Frisbee cemetery.
The family received friends at the home Friday and Saturday evenings.

Ruby Etherton
Died: 03/24/2000
Ruby Etherton passed away in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, on Friday. She was 78.
Miss Etherton had sold her home in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and was preparing to move to Johnson City to be nearer to her family when she suffered a fatal heart attack.
She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1921. Prior to her retirement, she was a quality control inspector for Union Carbide in Cleveland, Ohio.
Miss Etherton was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Loretta; brother, Lloyd; sister, Reba Fancher; and nieces, Jean Gibson and Patricia Vargo. Survivors include her niece, Gail Herrin of Johnson City; great-nieces, Donna Shuffler, Nicole Cooper and Kimberly Gibson, all of Greeneville; great-nephews, Ted Gibson of Greeneville and Mark Broyles and Randall Gibson, both of Johnson City; a great-great-nephew; and a great-great-niece.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28, in the Chapel of the Westwood Abbey in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio. Entombment was in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum.

Arthur B. Eaton

Arthur B. Eaton, 92, of White Pine, passed away Thursday, March 23, at U.T. Medical Center, Knoxville, as a result of an auto accident.
He was a retired employee of the General Motors Corporation, having 41 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II; an active member of White Pine Senior Citizens; and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by brother and sisters, Paul Eaton, Ruth Eaton Shaver and Mary Newman Wilkerson.
Survived by wife of 68 years, Mrs. Lillian Knight Eaton; brother, Robert (Bob) Shaver of White Pine; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening, March 24, at the Farrar Funeral Home, White Pine chapel, with Rev. Bill Lichlyter and Rev. Kenneth Richey officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday prior to services. Interment
in Hamblen Memorial Gardens, Morristown, on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m.

Thelma Davis, 77, of White Pine, passed away Monday, March 27.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Joshua Wayne Davis.
She is survived by her son, John P. Davis of White Pine; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Tina Davis, Watkinsville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Margie Woody of White Pine; brother, Hal Phillips of Hartford; sisters, Iva Phillips of Newport, Ailene Messer of Cosby, Fern McFalls of Cosby, and Shirley Sweeten of Morristown; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Michael, Jason and Travis Woody, Kimberly Price, and Jennifer Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Angel and Cece Woody.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home, West Chapel, with Rev. Berney Cagle officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Phillips cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Ann Collins, 62, of Newport, passed away Monday afternoon, March 27, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County after suffering a long-time illness.
She was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors: daughter, Teresa Collins of Newport; son, Earl Jones of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbie Collins of Columbia; stepdaughter, Violet Hensdon of Morristown; sister, Anna Barnett of Morristown; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 29, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 30, at 11 a.m., at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Brown officiating. Interment
will be in the Stokely Chapel Church cemetery.

Wade A. Clark
Died: 03/23/2000
Wade A. Clark, 85, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Convalescent Center.
He was of the Methodist faith and had retired in the mid-70s after working as a salesman for Taylor Grocery Company, Kerns Bread Company, and Hawk Grocery Company. An avid sports fan, he officiated at many area football and basketball games and later began trout fishing and enjoyed sharing the fish he caught with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Fancher Clark; and his daughter, Carlene Spencer Cobb; parents, Curtis and Eliza Clark; and brother, James Clark.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Larry Blazer, Sue and Jack Halderman, and Kay and Glenn Anders; sister, Veda Milligan; grandchildren: Andy Anders, Mandy Anders, Todd Blazer, and Russell Blazer; and several other relatives. Other survivors include his beloved Baptist Convalescent Center family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Stokely Memorial Library or a favorite charity.

Una Faye Fullington Vick Weems, 79, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, March 25, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husbands, Max Vick and Elbert Weems; parents, William and Susie Fullington; brothers, Carl, Boyd, and Joe Fullington; and sister, Juverna Fullington Busler.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Mitzi and Dewey Seay of Newport and Eva Dean and Norman Gentry of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Lisa Vick of Talbott and Gary and Kathy Vick of Bybee; grandchildren, Samantha and Tim Lutts of Knoxville, Jennifer and Clay Carpenter of Knoxville, Melinda and Jimmy Fralix of Franklin, Edwina and Chris Minar of Nashville, Jake Vick of Johnson City, Aubrey Vick of Talbott, Lucas Vick of Talbott, and Michael Vick of Bybee; two great-grandchildren, Kirsten Fralix of Franklin and Victoria Anne Carpenter of Knoxville; brothers, Homer, Horace and Bill Fullington of Morristown; sisters, Maude Hudgens of Morristown, Jewell Smith of White Pine, Mary Harris of Taylor, Michigan, and Betty Estes of Morristown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Stephen Smith officiating. Interment
followed at Jarnagin cemetery.

Rose Click Ball
Died: 03/17/2000
Rose Click Ball, 96, passed away Friday, March 17, at the Mariner Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Rose was a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Worley Ball; sons, William and Everett Ball; daughter-in-law, Norma Ball; and sons-in-law, Thurmon James and Howard Ellenburg.
Rose is survived by her children, Cora James and Charles Ball and his wife, Dorothy, all of Newport, Fairley Ball of Cosby, Sarah Cutshaw, and Frances Rollins and her husband, G.B., all of Hartford; two daughters-in-law, Lola Ball of Newport and Morine Ball of Shelby, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ransom Hall and Rev. Tommy Ball officiating. Interment
was in Union cemetery.
