John L. Alred

John L. Alred, 74, of LaFollette died Oct. 7, 2011.

He was the proprietor of Whitman Hollow Boat Dock for 19 years and was a friend to everyone. A kind man who thought of others before thinking of himself, he will always be remembered as a great husband, wonderful father and a loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H. T. and Nell Alred; brothers, Eugene, Ray and Kyle Alred.

Beulah Mae Akers

Beulah Mae Akers, 71, of Jacksboro, died Oct. 29, 2011. She was a member of Ivy Grove Baptist Church in Caryville.

She was preceded in death by husband, Kyle Akers; parents, Charles and Jimmie Tackett Davis.

Patricia A. Coker

Patricia A. Coker, 59, of LaFollette died Oct. 11, 2011.

She was preceded in death by father and mother Kenneth and Nola Queener Cordell; husband, Wayne C. Coker.

Patricia is survived by son, Brandon Wayne Coker of LaFollette; daughter, Crystal R. Watkins of LaFollette.

Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy M. Atherton

Dorothy M. Atherton, 87, died Oct. 21, 2011.

She was preceded in death by husband, Noel Pierce Atherton, son, Noel Howard Atherton, parents, Guy Price and Esther Hartman Price.

Dorothy is survived by sons, Billy Atherton, Donald Atherton, Gregory Lee Atherton and Michael Atherton;

Visitation was held in Ohio on Oct. 26 at the Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 South Dixie, Vandalia, Ohio.

Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Tiffany Rose Howard Bramlett

Tiffany Rose Howard Bramlett, 27, died Sept. 25, 2011.

She is survived by father, Dale Bramlett of Georgia; mother, Susan Bramlett of Georgia; three daughters, Briyanna Paige Siler of White Oak, Chloe Marie Lynn Weaver of White Oak, and Kalliamm Lemarr of LaFollette.

Funeral services were Oct. 1 with Rev. Paul Cox officiating.

Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Geraldine Boshears

Geraldine Boshears, of the Mt. Paran community in Jacksboro, passed into the care of her Lord and Savior on Aug. 23, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her mother, Addie Leach Cross.

Ruby Childs Branam

Ruby Childs Branam, 77, died Sept. 24, 2011.

She was preceded in death by parents Lee and Goldie Weaver Childs.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Tammy Branam.

Funeral services were held Sept. 27 with interment icon following.

Cross-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Linda J. “Na-Na” Adkins

Linda J. “Na-Na” Adkins died Aug. 2, 2011.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Willie Adkins.

She is survived by her mother Anna Mae Adkins, daughter Jamie Lynn Claiborne and husband Ray of Jacksboro.

Funeral Services were held on Aug. 4 with Rev. Donald Shoun officiating. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bertha Elizabeth Bailey

Bertha Elizabeth Bailey, 101, died Dec. 31, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Nelson Cox,husband, Frank Bailey; son, Odeva Bailey; daughter, Cora Suttles.

She is survived by daughters, Jean Slover and Joyce Harmon.

Funeral services were held Jan.3. Interment icon was in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Hatmaker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charline Bunch

Charline Bunch, 66, of Jacksboro, died July 8, 2011.

Preceded in death by husband, Menton Bunch; parents, Charlie and Tressie Vinsant Thompson.

Charline is survived by daughters, Sandra Griffin, Pam Bailey and Tina Whaley.

Funeral services were held July 11 in the Cross-Smith Chapel with Rev. Tommy Reece officiating. Interment icon was in the Queener cemetery.

Cross-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ruth M. Angel

Ruth M. Angel, 80, of Williamsburg, Ky, formerly of Indian Mountain Road, Jellico passed away May 23, 2011 at U.T. Medical Center, Knoxville.

Ruth is survived by daughters, Shirley Nelson and husband, John of Pikeville, Ky, Joyce Baird and husband, Rick of Strunk, Ky, Lenora Bunch and husband, Alfred of Williamsburg, Ky; son, Larry Angel and wife, Gail of Indian Mountain Road, Jellico; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Twila Lucille Hawkins Martin

Twila Lucille Hawkins Martin, 74 of Lake City, died June 30, 2011.

Preceded in death by parents, Millard and Pauline Bolton Hatmaker; husband, “Pretty Boy Hawkins”; son, Howard Edward Hawkins..

Twila is survived by daughters, Belinda Stouffer, Lisa Hawkins, Melanie Stewart, Veronica Patterson, Tanya Hawkins.

At the family’s request, private services will be held.

Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kim Woods

Kim Woods, 45 of LaFollette, passed away June 24, 2011. He was a member of Fundamental Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by brother, Rick Woods.

Kim is survived by wife, Laurie Woods; daughter, Sarah Woods; son, Dustin Terry; parents, Maynard, Jr. and Bertha Woods; brother, Mickey Woods; sister, Brenda Chambers; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
