She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy Jefferson and Ima Jewell Doss Simmons. Visitation will be 1 p.m., until 9 p.m., Friday, April 25, 9 a.m., until 9 p.m., Saturday, and 9 a.m., until service time on Sunday. Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2008, from the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Cushionberry and Todd O’Hair officiating. Interment icon in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Mrs. Williams retired from Tri-County Electric, and she was a member of Oakdale General Baptist Church. Virginia Gayle Williams, age 49, Westmoreland, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Edith Jones Scarber Westmoreland; daughter, Miranda Williams of Lafayette; brother, David Leonard of Westmoreland; two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Homer Leonard. A memorial service for Mrs. Williams will be held at 12 noon, Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her residence. Mrs. Williams was a Homemaker.

Staff Sgt. James L. Willis, age 25, of Ft. Walton, Fla., formerly of Westmoreland, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008. He is survived by his father, Wayne Willis of Westmoreland; brothers, Nelson Willis of Lavergne, Tenn., Roger Willis of Lafayette, Phillip Willis of Westmoreland; sister, Cindy Williams of Bethpage; grandmothers, Margaret Willis of Westmoreland, Mildred Pedigo of Indianapolis, Ind. He is preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Pedigo Willis. Visitation will be 9 a.m., until 9 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008, and 8 a.m., until service time on Friday. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2008, from The Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Tracy Carter officiating. Interment icon will be in Eulia cemetery with full military honors. Staff Sgt. Willis was an active serviceman of the United States Air Force stationed in Fort Walton, Fla.

Jerald D. Winston, age 64, of Westmoreland, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2008, at Westmoreland Care & Rehabilitation. He is survived by his brother, James (Ann) Winston of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Phoebe Stanfield Winston. Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 1 p.m., until service time. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008, from the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Carol Harrison officiating. Mr. Winston was a former employee of the Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

Jimmie Forrest Wix, age 64, of Siloam Community, Westmoreland, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Carolyn Merryman Wix of Westmoreland; son, Jason Wix of Murfreesboro; daughters, Stephanie (Travis) Tarpley of Portland, Staci (Wesley) Smith of Gallatin; brothers, Fred Wix of Jacksonville, Fla., Maxie Wix of Tampa, Fla., Harold Wix of Celina, Tenn., David Wix of Westmoreland, Jerry Wix of Westmoreland; sisters, Shirley Carter of Murfreesboro, Melba Carter of Castalian Springs, Barbara Smith of Russell Hill, Peggy Fannin of Hendersonville; 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olie and Lillian Rutledge Wix; brother, J.D. Wix; sister, Frances Slayton; grandson, Alex Eastham. Effie Eden Adcock, age 82, of Bethpage, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009. She is survived by her son, Gary (Bonnie) Adcock of Bethpage; daughter, Jean Adcock of Bethpage; grandsons, Trevor Adcock, Nathan (Susan) Adcock of Bethpage, Troy (Kelly) Adcock of Westmoreland, Griff (Mary Alice) Akins of Mt. Juliet; great grandchildren, Katie, Cody, Austin, Madyn, Emmitt and Sadie Adcock, Alexia Akins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Marshall Eden; husband, Rev. Raymond Adcock; brothers, Bethel, Bill and T.C. Eden; sisters, Sallie Williams, Ockie Doss and Grace Eden. Visitation is 12 noon to 9 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2009, and 9 a.m., until 1:30 p.m., Tuesday. She is survived by her son, Larry (Terri) Gann of Westmoreland; brothers, Charles Willie Adcock of Westmoreland, Larry Reese Adcock of Westmoreland; grandson, James Nicholas Adcock of Westmoreland. James Arlin Anderson, Jr., age 52, of Westmoreland, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009, at Macon County General Hospital. He is survived by his father, James Arlin Anderson, Sr., of Nashville; wife, Wanda Gail Jackson Anderson of Westmoreland; daughters, Jessica Anderson of Westmoreland and Amber Anderson of Westmoreland. Mary Donoff Brown, age 71, of Adolphus, Ky., formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, in Chatsworth, Ga. She is survived by her son, John Thomas Dixon of Chattanooga; daughter, Betty (Keith) Coffey of Chatsworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Brittany and Erin Kirkland; brothers and sisters, James (Karen) Ritchie and Betty Curtis both of Dayton, Ohio, Jack Ritchie of Westmoreland, David (Rita) Ritchie of Malden, Mo., Ray (Jonnie) Ritchie of Lakeland, Fla., Carolyn (John) Lester of El Dorado, Tex., Elizabeth Blair and Lillie (Frank) Polson of Scottsville, Ky., John (Gloria) Ritchie of Lebanon, Tenn.; several cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends, including Herb Knowles of Chattanooga, Tenn., Laverne Adair of Chatsworth, Ga., many friends and a large church family, many loving, skilled caregivers. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Ritchie; husbands, Thomas Dixon of Corinth, Ky., Herman Donoff of Dayton, Ohio, Bascom Brown of Scottsville, Ky.; brother, Howard Ritchie; infant daughter, Alma Dixon. Scott Anthony Caldwell, age 38, of Westmoreland passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his residence. He is survived by his father, Alan Lee Caldwell of Bethpage; mother, Jeanette Faye Hammock Caldwell of Westmoreland; daughter, Jessica Renee Caldwell of Westmoreland; step-daughters, Christie Beth Holland of Scottsville, Ky., Cassie Michelle Holland of Scottsville, Ky.; sisters, Karen Renea Hunter of Westmoreland, Sherran Anette (Allen) Brooks of Bethpage; two step-grandchildren. Mr. Caldwell was a carpenter by trade.

Margaret Carter, age 83, Gallatin, Tenn., formerly of Adolphus, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Gallatin Health Care. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel (Scotty) Parker of Gallatin; brother-in-law, Dee (Leona) Carter of Adolphus, Ky., brother-in-law, Melton Carter of Bowling Green, Ky. He is survived by his wife, Annie Blanche Carter of Gallatin; daughter, Rebecca (James) Hodges of Gallatin; son, William Ray (Linda) Carter of Gallatin; grandchildren, Donna (Allen) Brown of Murfreesboro, Leigh (Ronnie) Tennant of Gallatin; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parent, Albia E. and Leona Creasy Carter. Visitation is 10 a.m., until service time Saturday, March 28, 2009. He is survived by his sons, Wayne Caruthers of Utica, Mich., Thomas (Sandra) Caruthers of Westmoreland, James Caruthers of Hazel Park, Mich.; daughters, Nancy Donahue of Las Vegas, Nev., Sue Bayes of Warren, Mich., Laura Bionka of St. Claire Shores, Mich., Donna Kleb of Westmoreland; sister, Imogene Loftis of Warren, Mich.; half-sister, Sue Frazier of Cookeville, Tenn.; half-brother, Ricky Caruthers of Cookeville; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cluer and Estle Laura Hawkine Caruthers; brothers, Donald and James Caruthers; sister, Cludena Caruthers. Ralph Creasy, Jr., of Westmoreland; sisters, Ruth Graves of Westmoreland, Norma Caruthers of Westmoreland, Naoma Carr of Gallatin; grandchildren, Ann (Michael) Green of Mt. Juliet, Kay Holmes of Westmoreland, Mary Gail (Todd) Anderson of Portland; great grandchildren, Emily and Abbey Green, Kayla and Kim Farley, Brandy Carter, Raven, Sagel and Jolie Anderson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodby Ralph Creasy; parents, Oscar Taylor and Della Venable Taylor Hobdy; daughter, Linda Creasy; brothers, Harold O. and Lloyd E. Taylor.
