Juanita Kesler age 62, a resident of Manchester passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. Mrs. Kesler was the daughter of the late Marvin & Bessie Parsons Smartt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Kesler, and five brothers and sisters, Hassie Meeks, Susie Layne, Vernon Smartt, Marvin Smartt, Jr., and Hershall Smartt.

She is survived by a daughter, Giner Walls of Hillsboro, two granddaughters, Ashely Walls of Murfreesboro and Brittany Walls of Hillsboro, three brothers, Jack, Bill and Leroy Smartt all of Tracy City and several nieces and nephews.

Brother Eugene Bagley will officiate services and burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Nancy Lou Keylon

Nancy Lou Keylon age 67, a resident of Manchester passed away Monday, November 29, 2004 at her residence. She was a client at Skills Development Center in Tullahoma and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was born January 22, 1937 in Guntersville, AL the daughter of the late James Mack and Vida Manning Keylon.

Survivors include two devoted, loving, longtime caregivers, Dot Snow and Samantha Winton of Manchester, sister-in-law, Dorothy Fetzer Derryberry of Manchester and brother-in-law, Alfred Adams, Jr., of Beersheba Springs, TN and five nieces, Kimberly Keylon Jameson, Jencie Adams Tipton, Karin Adams Barro, Sue Adams Keyes and Peggy Adams Luton and a nephew, Alfred Adams, III and 20 great-nieces and nephews.

Patrick Marlan "Paw" Kirchner

Patrick Marlan "Paw" Kirchner age 79,was born August 29, 1924 to the late John W. Kirchner and Mary Ellen Stratton Kirchner in St. James, Minnesota. He endured the hardship, duty and honor of defending and serving his country during WWII. He was a member of the Army's Third Infantry Division taking part in major campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, Southern France, Rhineland and Anzio. He contracted malaria, survived being severely wounded a number of times and received various medals and the Purple Heart. His commendations include four Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, multiple Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, Croix de Guerre with palm 1st French Army, WWII Victory Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. After WWII, Patrick chose to serve his community by becoming a member of the police department in Rockford, IL where he started walking his beat as an on foot patrolman, then became a white care emergency squad officer and later a police detective. He maintained this occupation for 22 years. Later he worked for the Rockford Park District, Motlow State College, Kohl Pipe Company and Nissan Industries. He remained a member of the National Reserves after WWII and was called upon once again to serve his country at the time of the Korean War, but because of contracting malaria in earlier years was not allowed to serve. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Clyde and two sisters, Ethel and Ursula "Cil".
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Gladys "Guss", daughter, Sandra L. Powers, son-in-law, W. C. Powers both of Manchester, son, Kurt Kirchner, daughter-in-law, Milly Smith Kirchner both of Rockford, IL, three grandchildren, Jim Powers of Riverview, FL, Tamsen Powers of Manchester and Sasha Kirchner of Rockford, IL and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Allison Powers. Also surviving is his youngest sister, Charlotte French also of Rockford, IL and his mother-in-law, Mable Dewey of Manchester, TN.
His life is defined by his service to and love of his country, family and community and the stray animals he healed and cared for.

Chaplain Jeff Frayer will officiate services.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Murfreesboro or to Middle Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Center.

Dolores Josephine Papineau Labaj

Dolores Josephine Papineau Labaj, age 72, a resident of Deerborn Heights MI. passed away Saturday, September 6, 2003 at her residence. She was born March 20, 1931 in Detroit, MI. the daughter of the late John Baptist Papineau and Grace Helena Ballinger Papineau.
She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, 2 Brothers: John Papineau and Robert Papineau, 1 sister June Elizabeth Curlee.

Survived by:5 Children; William C. Johson III,
Michael Wayne Johnson, Cynthia Rae McClain, Kenneth Duane Johnson, Jacquelyn June Joiner.
One brother: William Cutsinger.

Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Andrew "Andy" Lafevre

Andrew "Andy" Lafevre, age 66. a resident of Manchester died Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Lafevre was born February 27, 1936 in Gary, Indiana.

He was a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps having served for over 17 years.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and the VFW.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie M. Oakley Lafevre.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Lafevre of Manchester, son, Daniel Lafevre, daughter, Michelle Lafevre, his father, Clyde Lafevre and an uncle, Asher Lafevre all of Manchester.

Clyde Andrew LaFevre

Mr. LaFevre, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at United Regional Medical Center. A native of Silver Point, Tennessee he was the son of the late Andrew and Flora Beatrice Trobaugh LaFevre. He was a retired Journeyman Ironworker. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and in 1931, Mr. LaFevre was the forst Eagle Scout of Coffee County Troop 121.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Altha Lee Banks Lusk LaFevre, a son, Andy LaFevre and nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his two daughters, Mary Ann Crosby of Norman, Oklahoma, Linda Williams of Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Asher LaFevre of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.

Brother Bobby Zumbro will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Fredonia cemetery.

Mary Sue Lance

Mary Sue Lance passed away Sunday March 16, 2003 at Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville. She was born may 5, 1924 in Warren County, TN the daughter of the late Gordon and Louise Martin Cates. She was a member of the Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lance and a son, Larry Lance.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Blair of McMinnville, sister, Wilma Davenport of McMinnville, two nieces, Phyllis Graham of McMinnville and Elena Mohler of Marietta, GA, two granddaughters, Lisa Gipson of Manchester and Debra Crouch of Texas, a grandson, Danny Lance of Tullahoma and four great-grandchildren, Larry Dale, Krystal, Kayla, and Kaitlyn Gipson.

Reverend Mark Barron will officiate services and burial will follow at Centertown cemetery in Warren County, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Arnel Hilton Lance

Arnel Hilton Lance, age 74, a resident of Manchester, TN passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Medical Center of Manchester. He was born March 28, 1929 in Warren County, TN the son of the late Winfield Scott Lance, Jr., and Hallie Griffith Lance. He was a farmer and attended the Main Street Church of Christ. He was a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Delman Lance and Winfield Scott Lance, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Darletta Baltimore of Woodbury, TN, Judy Henson and Debbie Bryan both of Manchester, Phyllis Bowden of Antioch, TN and Ronnie Lance also of Manchester, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Irene Talley of McMinnville, TN.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to the Veterans Administration.

Michael Lane

PFC Michael Lane, United States Army, age 24, a resident of Estill Springs, TN died Monday, September 29, 2003 in Junction City, Kansas. He was born January 22, 1979 in Sheffield, Alabama the son of Marion (Michele) Lane of Shelbyville and Julie Lane & Roger Ragsdale of Estill Springs. Michael enlisted in the United States Army in April of 2001, he served in the 41st Infantry and was deployed to serve active duty in Iraq.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tonya Lane of Winchester, sister, Laura Michelle Towry of Alexander City, AL, step son, Keenan Sanders of Winchester, step-sister, Crystal Shadrick of Shelbyville, grandparents, Nellie Lane of Grand Junction, TN, and William and Marie Bartlett of Eva, AL, great-grandfather, Marvin Lemons of Somerville, AL and niece, Jessica Towry and nephew, Justin Towry.

Wade Towry will officiate services and burial will follow at Cooper cemetery with full military honors.

Nathan Cleveland Latture, Jr.

Nathan Cleveland Latture, Jr.,age 74, a resident of Winchester, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center after a sudden illness.

He was born October 16, 1928 in Blountville, TN the son of the late Nathan C. Latture, Sr., and Elizabeth Faust Latture. Mr. Latture served in the US Navy 1948-1952 on the Minesweeper and was a member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three infant brothers.

Survivors include his wife Georgie Wilson Latture of Winchester, four daughters and sons-in-law, Rene and Matt Brothers of Pelham, Pam and Mack Raper of Manchester, Patricia and Jerry Willis of White House, TN and Kelly and Danny Anderson of Manchester, three sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Teresa Latture of Cotton Town, Jeff and Bobbi Brothers of Manchester, Scott and Brenda Brothers of Manchester and one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Betty Latture of Franklin and a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Al Curole of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren, Tyler Brothers, Lauren Brothers, Adrienne Raper, Corey Raper, Spencer Raper, Seth Latture, Katelyn Latture, Joshua Willis, Sonya B. Harner, Angela Brothers, Jeffery Brothers, Asha and Tyler, Emileigh Brothers, Lacee Anderson, Cheyenne W. Beville, and Jeremy Willis, great-grandchildren, Katelyn Beville, Tristen Beville, Ty Beville, Bryson Beville, Joshua Harner and Kyleigh Harner and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Gideons International.

Reverend John Haliburton, Reverend Billy Ray Panter and Reverend T.J. Bennett will officiate services and burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mary Elizabeth Layne

Mary Elizabeth Layne, age 88, a resident of Hillsboro, TN passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at her residence. She was born March 16, 1915 in Alabama, the daughter of the late George and Jenny Hobbs Sanders. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clell Alonzo Layne, three daughters, Sally Olene Layne and Linda Staley and Grace Carter, two sons, Clell Layne, JR., and Carl Layne and two grandsons, Gary Neil Nunley and Micky Bailey.

She was a homemaker and attended the Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, James "Ed" Layne, Claude A. Layne, Tommy Layne, Kenneth Layne and Rex Layne all of Gruetli Laager, four daughters, Sue Champion of Hillsboro, Ruth Rollins of Manchester, Betty Rinehart of Greely, Colorado and Mary E. Miller of Morrison, 72 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Brother Delbert Layne will officiate services and burial will follow at Fall Creek cemetery, Gruetli Laager, TN.

Lenore Ellen Lechleidner

Lenore Ellen Lechleidner, age 75, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Medical Center of Manchester. She was born September 29, 1928 in Indiana the daughter of the late Willis and Bertha Sawvel Musser.

She was a former resident of Ft. Wayne for over 25 years where she was employed with ITT Federal for many years and she and her husband attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. While living in Coffee County, Mrs. Lechleidner attended Goosepond United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Musser and a sister, Evelyn Heckler.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Herbert Lechleidner of Beechgrove, TN, a son, Leon Lechleidner and a daughter, Karen Hambrock of Unionville, TN, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a brother, Hal Musser of Michigan.

Robert C. Lemmon, Sr.

Robert C. Lemmon, Sr., age 74, a resident of Beech Grove, TN passed away Friday, November 26, 2004 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 18, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of the late Robert C. Lemmon and Lillian Mae Lord Lemmon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Iris Marie Lemmon, a son, Robert C. Lemmon, Jr., and two sisters.

Survivors include three children, Linda (John Phillips) Lemmon, Kathleen (Timothy) Stewart and David R. Lemmon, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pastor Tony Buchannan will officiate services at Christian Life Church.

Ruth Mae Lemons

Ruth Mae Lemons, age 60, of Manchester, died June 8, 2003.
Mrs. Lemons was preceded in death by her parents, Logan Pearcy and Edith Keigley; one brother, Ralph Pearcy; one sister, Maxine Young; and one step son, Kevin Lemons. She is survived by seven brothers, Ed Pearcy of Marseilles, IL, Curl Pearcy of Windsor, IL, Don Pearcy, Chuck Pearcy, Dale Pearcy, Frank Pearcy, and Larry Keigley, all of Charleston, IL; three sisters, Lula Vail of Charleston, IL, Nora Tuley of Greenup, IL, and Sherry Roberts of Charleston, IL; seven children, Rick Lemons of Manchester, Cynthia Duvall of Casey, IL, Pamela Smith of Charleston, IL, Joyce Oakley of Manchester, Bill Metzler of Charleston, IL, Steve Metzler of Manchester, and Jeff Metzler Moscow Mills; fifteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and six step great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, June 10, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Manchester Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday, June 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Caudill-King Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn cemetery.
Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dewey Ribble Lester, Jr. age 76, a resident of Manchester passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Medical Center of Manchester. He was born October 17, 1927 in Coffee County, TN the son of the late Dewey Ribble Lester, Sr., and Beulah Clara Pagan Lester. He was a self-employed antique dealer in Coffee County for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Violet Thomas, Anna Belle Jernigan and Billie Dove Wyatt.

Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Philpot Lester of Manchester, three children, Michael Lester of Manchester, Carol Lester Haddock of Manchester and Karen Lester of Folsom, CA, seven grandchildren, Joyce Teal, Matt Lester, Lee Lester, Heath Lester, Nicole Lester, Jonathon Dewey Lester, Donovan Davis and sister, Marie Highsmith of Evansville, IN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Fredonia Church of Christ.

Brother Foy Rigney will officiate services. Burial will follow at Fredonia cemetery.
