Mr. Homer Prater Powell, age 81, passed away Wednesday at Harton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Powell was a retired small business owner, U.S. Army Veteran, Staff Sergeant serving 1942-1944. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester.

Mr. Powell was the son of the late Floyd E. and Jewell Prater Powell. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Myra Modrell

Mr. Powell is survived by his Wife of 61 years: Dorothy Lewis Powell of Manchester

Son: Prater Powell (Gayla) of Manchester

Granddaughter: Jennifer Powell Whittington of Nashville

Sister: Ophelia Spence of Murfreesboro

Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens

Geraldine Darr Prater

Geraldine Darr Prater, age 77, a resident of Manchester passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at her daughter's residence. She was born March 19, 1926 in Ewing, Illinois the daughter of the late Curtis C. and Zora Burklow Darr. She has resided in Manchester since 1978 and retired from Coffee County Bank where she was employed as a secretary in 1991. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1992, Thomas M. Prater, two sons, Michael L. Prater and David C. Prater and a sister, Shirley Gulley.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela J. and James O'Conner of Manchester, son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Teresa Prater of Clarksville, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dr. Brenton Cox will officiate services and burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Friendship Home Health and Hospice.

Vernon Dallas Presley

Funeral Services for Vernon Dallas Presley, age 76, a resident of Manchester, will be conducted Sunday, August 11, 2002, at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bill Adams and Reverend Perry Knight with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Presley died August 8, 2002 at Centennial Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born November 7, 1925 in Cullman, Alabama the son of the late Dallas Vernon Presley and Hettie Mae Guthrie Presley. Mr. Presley worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Presley attended Temple Baptist Church in Manchester.

Mr. Presley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Glera Presley of Manchester, four daughters: Kim and Rick Parsley of Manchester, TN, Kathy and Mark Wishart of Indianapolis, IN; Karen and Larry Chandler of Manchester, TN, Kellie and Jerry Potter of Trenton, Michigan.
Eight grandchildren: Steven and Scott Parsley, Sara Howell and Scott Wishart, Cody and Casey Chandler, Joshua and Jenna Potter. One sister, Lorene Lynn of Cullman, Al. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 11, 2002 between 2:00 and 10:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Clatie Pugh

Clatie Pugh, age 89, of Mt. Juliet, died March 25, 2003

Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her parents, L.A. and Margaret Moore Smith; her husband, Joe Pugh; one brother; and two sisters.

She is survived by one son, Michael D. Pugh of Hermitage, TN; two grandchildren, Mike Pugh, Jr., and Jennifer Stephens; one great grandchild, Olivia Pugh; one brother, Clifford Smith of Belvidere, TN; and one sister, Novia Green of Manchester.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.

Frances Elizabeth Qualls

Frances Elizabeth Qualls, age 62, a resident of Manchester, TN died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Medical Center of Manchester.

She was born March 10, 1940 in Murfreesboro, TN the daughter of the late Nath Lawson Ferrell and Mary Mattie Broyles Ferrell.

She was a homemaker and in addition to her parents, is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Qualls, two sons, Charles Edward Qualls and Gary Wayne Qualls a sister, Rosa Lee Cawthorn and a brother, Horace Ferrell.

Survivors include four children, Patricia Ann Henley, Elizabeth Diane Bradford and Kathy Lane Hennessee all of Manchester, and a son, Steve E. Qualls of Summitville,

six grandchildren, Christy Lane Hold, Jason Wilbur, Tiffany Wilbur, Sabrina Ann Miles, Steve Qualls, Jr., and Stephanie Qualls and two great-grandchildren, Austin McMahanand DeLayna Wilbur.

Also surviving are three sisters, Ruby( Tommy) Nettles of Huntsville, AL, Mary Jessie (Maurice Lee) Frazier of Hammond, IN and Clara Harvey of Portage, IN and a brother, Roy Lee Ferrell of Manchester and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen Quandt

Mr. Quandt, age 67, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. A native of Coffee County, Tennessee he was the son of the late Charley Edward Quandt, Sr. and Mary Ella Webb Quandt. He worked at Wilson Sporting Goods in Tullahoma.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Charley "Pooner" Quandt, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanie Quandt of Manchester; son, Eddie Quandt; daughters, Connie (Tim) Williams and Heather Quandt; 4 Grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, Dylan and Sarah; 2 sisters, Velma Bashem and Alice Marler; brother, Albert Quandt; several nieces and nephews.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Hospice of the Highland Rim.

Services officiated by Father Jim Bretl.

William Gary Quick

William Gary Quick, age 59, a resident of Tullahoma, TN died early Sunday morning at Harton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 8, 1943 in Huntsville, Alabama the son of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Foster Quick and the late William Quick. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarksville. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Gayla Dobbins Quick of Tullahoma, a daughter, Tracey Barry, son, Gary Lee Quick, three grandchildren, a sister, Cindy Caira of Clarksville, two brothers, Terry Quick also of Clarksville and Greg Quick of Orange Park, FL, three nephews and one niece.

William Frank Quinn, Jr.

William Frank Quinn, Jr. age 82, a resident of Manchester, TN passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

He was born August 28, 1921 in Greene County, TN the son of the late William Frank Quinn, Sr., and Margaret Westmoreland Quinn. He was a factory worker in earlier years and a member of the Bible Church in Manchester.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edna Quinn of Manchester, a son, William Frank Quinn, III and wife, Geri of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, four daughters, Joyce Myers and husband, LB of Liberty, TN, Brenda Bradbury and husband, Larry of Morrison, TN, Nita Miller and husband, Jack of Readyville, TN and Shirley Bratten and husband John of Morrison, TN, ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Louella Parker of Jasper, TN and Dorothy Farmer of Greeneville, TN.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Bible Church in Manchester.

Brother Vernon Wagoner will officiate services and burial will follow at Morrison cemetery in Morrison, TN.

Douglas Levi Rackley

Douglas Levi Rackley age 81, a resident of Viola, passed away Thursday, December 4,2003 at United Regional Medical Center. He was born September 30, 1922 in DeKalb County, TN the son of the late Isaac Douglas Rackley and Rosie Lee Rackley. He was a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Loucille Rackley and a daughter, Mary Airalee Hill.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Underwood of Viola and Betty Henley of Summitville, 6 grandsons, John Underwood, Jason Underwood, Chadwick Hill, Robert Henley, Dusty Henley, Bobby Dale Henley, 4 great-grandsons, Justin, Josh, Jacob and Dakota, 4 great granddaughters, Constance, Isabella, Cassie and Megan, a sister, Bertha Gunter of Morrison and three brothers, Cordell Rackley of Summitville, Jo Edd Rackley of Manchester and Odes Rackley of Woodbury.

Brother Paul Howard and Brother Kevin Deason will officiate services and burial will follow at Wesley's Chapel cemetery.

Zelma Bernice Raines

Ms. Raines, of Hillsboro, age 96, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003 at NHC Health Care in Murfreesboro. Formerly of Grundy County, TN, Ms. Raines was retired from Vocational School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hewell Eugene Raines who passed away in 1988. She is survived by son, Charles E. Raines of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Carla Perakes and Kevin Raines both of Murfreesboro; and four great grandchildren. Burial will take place in the Hillsboro Memorial cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Sawyer officiating.

Viola Lee Ramsey

Mrs. Viola Lee Ramsey, age 92, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the Manchester Health Care Center. A native of Warren County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Zora Mae Dodd McMahan. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Ramsey is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Walter McMahan and Lloyd McMahan and two sisters, Connie Prater and Myrtle Bailey.

She is survived by her husband, John B. Ramsey, Jr., of Manchester; brother, Granville McMahan of Morrison; sisters, Laura McAfee of Morrison, Clara McAfee of Morrison, Mildred Prater of Morrison, Johnnie Cooper of Muncie, IN, and Pauline Light of Muncie, IN.

Burial will be in the Shady Grove cemetery.

Henry Andrew Raney

Henry Andrew Raney, age 78, of Manchester, died October 7, 2002

Mr. Raney was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Andrew and Pearl Raney; and by his wife, Ruth Raney.

He is survived by two daughters, Dellar Guthrie of Manchester and Eva Strickland of Corpus Christie, TX;

six grandchildren; and several great grand children.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Myron J. Ratliff

Mr. Ratliff, age 85, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. A native of Greensboro, IN he was the son of the late Morris and Clara Elliott Ratliff. He was employed in farm supply for Quality Farm and Fleet. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a Sergeant in the US Army Air Force and a WWII veteran.

He is survived by his wife, E. Joan Ratliff of Manchester, sons, David Ratliff of Columbia, SC and Jim Ratliff of Phoenix, AZ, sister, Mildred Preston of Sebring, FL, granddaughter, Stefanie Ratliff of Columbia, SC and grandsons Marc and Michael Ratliff of Phoenix, AZ.

Entombment will be in the Elm Ridge Mausoleum in Mincie, IN at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Visitation with the family will be from 12 until 2 pm at Ballard Funeral Home in Middletown, IN on Wednesday, before the entombment. Dr. Brenton Cox will officiate local services.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the National Diabetes Foundation.

Marvin Connor Reaves

Marvin Connor Reaves, age 78, of Manchester, died March 8, 2003

Mr. Reaves was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Bertice and Ethel Connor Reaves; one sister, Elizabeth Hoffman; and one brother, Clifton Reaves.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Reaves of Manchester; one son, Joe (Cecelia) Reaves of Longview, TX; two daughters, Linn (David) Schuster of Arden, NC and Susan Reaves (James) Tremblay of Rochester, NH; five granddaughters.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Terry Randall Reavis

Terry Randall Reavis, age 44, a resident of Manchester, TN passed away Monday, August 4, 2003 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1958 in Winchester, TN the son of Etna Ruth Reavis and the late Johnson Paul Reavis, Jr.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by grandparents, William Luther Woody, Jane McDonald and Johnson Paul and Mary Reavis.

Survivors include his wife, Eva McConnell Reavis of Manchester, 5 children, Nathan Adam Reece, Terry Randall Reavis, Jr., Kimberly Rae Reavis, Paul Cooper Reavis and Jesten Karen Reavis all of Manchester, a brother, William David Reavis and sisters, Mary Jane Owen and Paulette White, 5 nephews, 13 nieces and his grandmother, Jesten Woody

Jimmy Howard Rhea

Jimmy Howard Rhea, age 53, passed away Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. He was the son of Noble Douglas and Virginia Jo Rhea and a native of McMinnville, Tennessee.

He was a member of the Central Christian Church.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Sue Rhea Hibdon; first wife, Gail Banks Rhea; grandparents, Howard and Mary Rhea, Jim and Rosie Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Rhea; brother, Larry Noble Rhea; two daughters, Crystal Gail Rhea and April Beth Rhea; one son, Jimmy Noble Rhea.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Brother Ron Boyles officiating.

The family asks donations be made to the Tennessee Children's Home.

Willene Rigney

Willene Rigney, age 83, died Friday October 11, 2002, She was born October 5, 1919 in Warren County, the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee Orrick and Nettie McVey Orrick. She was a home maker and a member of the Shady Grove Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, S.L. Rigney and a daughter, Marjorie Juanita Rigney.

She is survived by five children, R.S. Rigney, Virginia Lehner, Charle Rigney, James Rigney, and Patty Cornish.

Three grandchildren: Robin Maynard, Robert Rigney, Jr., and Allen Rigney.

Four great-grandchildren, Khrysten and Konner Maynard, Gauge and Issac Rigney.

A sister: Sarah Cooper, A brother: Lactor Orrick,

A half-brother: Jack Orrick, and a half-sister: Mildred Mattox.
