Thomas Albert Trammell
Died Sunday, March 21, 2004

Thomas "Tommy" Albert Trammell, age 71, passed away Sunday at Harton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born September 12, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of the late Albert Thomas Trammell and Evelyn Woodward McMahan Trammell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-brother, Bill McMahan.

He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was a member of Plainview Community Church in Tracy City. He and his wife, Betty Jean were actively involved in the Manchester Senior Center for several years.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Betty Jean Trammell of Manchester, children, Annette Hawkins of OK, Roy Lee Trammell of Manchester, Delores Woodard of OK, Carol Newhouse of KY, Tommy Trammell of Virginia Beach, VA, currently serving in the US Navy in Beran/Kuwait, Gerald Trammell, Tina Hale and Roger Trammell of KY, step children, Patricia Taylor of Altamont, Larry Thomas of Monteagle, Jerry Thomas of Chattanooga and Raymond Edward Thomas of McMinnville numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Delores Shelton of Manchester and several half brothers and half sisters.

Burial will follow at Shady Grove cemetery in Coffee County with military honors. Brother Mike Rigsby will officiate services.

Judith Lynn Payne Trimmer
Died February 20, 2004

Mrs. Trimmer passed away Friday evening at Manchester Health Care after an extended illness. She was born February 22, 1936 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of the late Franklin and Dorothy Wright Payne. She graduated form Missouri Baptist College, where she received her degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with Coffee General Hospital for many years as well as being a devoted homemaker. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Jim Bunker and a brother, Jerry Payne.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry Trimmer of Manchester, daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny and Mike Jackson of Manchester, Susan and Greg Kilgore of Tullahoma, and daughter Cathy Trimmer of Franklin, TN, six grandchildren, Harris, Taylor and Hunter Jackson all of Manchester and Elizabeth, Sara and Matthew Kilgore all of Tullahoma, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to make to The Arthritis Foundation or to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.

Interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mary Florence Trussell

Mary Florence Trussell, age 80, a resident of Manchester passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born February 20, 1923 in Grundy County, TN the daughter of the late Willie And Thursie Hamby Payne.

She was employed in earlier years as a Certified Nursing Assistant for United Regional Nursing Home and was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Faith Freewill Baptist Church Youth Fund.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trussell is preceded in death by sons, Donald Eugene Trussell and Donnie Ray Trussell and a grandchild, Connie Trussell Brown.

Survivors include three sons, James C. (Peggy) Trussell of Tracy City, TN, Wendell (Wanda) Trussell of Manchester and Ronnie (Linda) Trussell of Decherd, TN, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Willie Mae Northcutt.

Reverend Wendell Trussell will officiate services and burial will follow at Bethel cemetery in Coffee County, TN.

Stacy Kane Tuck

Donations May Be Made To The Stacy Tuck Memorial Fund At American City Bank

Funeral services for Stacy Kane Tuck, age 33, a resident of Hillsboro, will be Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 2:00 PM from Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Troy Finney and Brother Shannon Fletcher. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Memorial cemetery In Hillsboro.

Stacy died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 9, 1968 in Coffee County, the son of Sandra Hill and Jess Tuck of Hillsboro. He loved his community by being a dedicated Hillsboro Volunteer Firefighter for over 16 years and loved all his fellow firefighters. He was a Sunday School Member of Shady Grove Church of the Nazarene.

He is preceded in death by grandfathers, Horace Tuck and Alfred W. Hill.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Donna Tuck, a brother, Eric Tuck all of Hillsboro, and grandmothers Katie Tuck of Manchester and Margaret Hill of Decherd, three nieces, Jessica, Nicole and Bridgette and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Vicky Lynn Tucker

Vicky Lynn Tucker, age 42, of Hillsboro, died March 23, 2003

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her father, Charles Richard Tucker; one brother, Charles Anthony Tucker; and by two sisters, Betty Carolyn Tucker and Mary Vernice Diorio.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Emma Tucker of Hillsboro;

two sons, Brian and Jacob Tucker of Hillsboro;

four sisters, Sherry Elaine Brown of Midlothian, IL, Karen Yvonne Filbert of Chicago, Barbara Kay Henry of Catherine, Canada and Ruth Ann Pinksa of Chicago;

three brothers, Forrest Wayne Tucker of Worth, IL, Billy Richard Tucker of Chicago and Robert Andrew Tucker of Wiley, TX.

Burial will follow in the Rutledge Hill cemetery.

Curtis Glen Tucker
Date of Birth: Thursday November 28, 1946
Date of Death: Sunday September 28, 2003

Mr. Tucker was employed in earlier years as a Heat and Air Technician. He was a United States Army veteran having served for ten years and during the  Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Tucker and Lloyd Neese Tucker and a loving sister, Evadean Phillips.

Survivors include, three daughters, Samantha Tucker of Manchester and Lacey Tucker of McMinnville and Amanda Locurcio of Manchester, one grandson, two sisters, Ellen Davis and Marcella Pitcock both of Manchester and two brothers, Sgt. Cecil Tucker and Gary Tucker both of Tullahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will follow in the New Brick Church cemetery

Lillian Crawley Tucker

Lillian Crawley Tucker, age 83, of Manchester, died November 4, 2003.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, Verbal and Laura Sweat Herren and her husband, Lester Crawley.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry Tucker of Manchester, Larry Medley and Jimmy Medley, both of CA; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Joe Bell of OK, and Faye Brindley of Cookeville; and one brother, Winnell Herren of Lewisberg.

Burial will follow at Welker cemetery.
Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Fane Weatherly Tucker

Mary Fane Weatherly Tucker, age 67 passed away Friday at Harton Regional Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by: Parents, Willie Morris Weatherly, and Margaret Schrum Weatherly.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by:

Son: Randall R. (Rita) Tucker of Tullahoma.
Daughter: Teresa (Frank) Tucker Brittingham of Manchester.

Grandchildren: Julie Beth Tucker, Nicole (Dave)Gray and Christopher (Amanda) Taylor.

1 Sister: Joyce (Hillard) Sargent of Beaufort SC.

James Tomas Turner

James Tomas Turner, age 59, a resident of Manchester passed away Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

He was born January 9, 1944 in Winchester, TN the son of the late Buford and Edith Bradford Turner. He was employed with Wisco.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Tracy Turner, and two sisters, Carran Arnold and Julia Tipton.

Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Marlene Parmley Turner of Manchester, three sons, Troy (Paige) Turner of Manchester, Tim Turner of Manchester and Ryan (Karen) Turner of Valparaiso, Indiana, two grandchildren, Troy and Daniel Turner of Manchester, five brothers, Richard Turner of Huntland, Eugene Turner of Tullahoma, Ira Turner of Tullahoma, Malcolm Turner of Tullahoma and R. D. Turner also of Tullahoma and a sister, Naomi March of Charleston, South Carolina.

Reverend James Hodge will officiate services and burial will follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery.

George Edward Umbarger

George Edward Umbarger, age 80, of Manchester, died December 29, 2002

Mr. Umbarger was preceded in death by his parents, Reid and Hilda Umbarger and his wife, Myrtus Umbarger.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Duncan of Manchester; one daughter, Patricia Smith of Mobile, AL;

five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Eddie Lee Tate Umbarger

Eddie Lee Tate Umbarger, age 83, passed away Saturday February 1, 2003 at the United Regional Nursing Center in Manchester.

Mrs. Umbarger is preceded in death by her parents: John Washington Tate and Belle Zora Adams Tate. Her Husband Leon Umbarger. 1 Son Jimmy Umbarger. 2 Brothers JT Tate and Forrest Tate, 3 sisters; Dessie Brown, Dora Dunn, and Beatrice Swan.

She is survived by: Son John Umbarger and wife Judy.

Two Daughters: Shirley Brewer and Husband Jack.
Linda Jones and husband Billy.

One Brother: John W. Tate
One Sister: Gevena Lawrance Willis

10 Grandchildren: John Umbarger, Zane Umbarger, Joe Umbarger, Jay Brewer, Chris Jones, Josh Jones, Julie Umbarger, Brigitte Umbarger, Kim Thompson, and Shannon Brewer.

Emmett Lionel Umbarger

Emmett Lionel Umbarger, age 90, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at Manchester Health Care. He was born January 16, 1913 in Warren County, TN the son of the late Norman and Susie Jane Fults Umbarger. He was retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, as a Road Supervisor after 33 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II as a Private First Class during July 1942 to November 1945. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Madewell Umbarger and a brother, Leon Umbarger.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Umbarger of Manchester, grandson, Mitch Umbarger of Manchester, great-grandson, Brandon Umbarger and a sister, Inez Fults of Hillsboro.

Brother Bill Swann will officiate services and burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Ernest Gordon Uselton

Ernest Gordon Uselton, age 63, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003 at United Regional Nursing Home. He was the son of the late George Uselton and Stella Mae Teal Uselton. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Birdie Lee Uselton, and Brother, William Lloyd Uselton.

Mr. Uselton is survived by 2 brothers, George Ewin Uselton of Manchester and Davis Gene Uselton of Manchester.
2 Sisters, Bernice Tuggle of Louisville, KY, and Thelma James of Louisville, KY,
and several nieces and nephews.

Eugene Franklin Uselton

Eugene Franklin Uselton, age 78, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004. He was the son of the late Franklin and Eunice Vickers Uselton and a native of Miami, Florida. He was a general contractor, farmer, and a WWII Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Brian Eugene Uselton.

He is survived by three children, Bobby Lee Winnton of Winchester, Luella Elaine Roberts of Murfreesboro, Doris Uselton Bryant of Mechanicsville, VA; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Aaron Uselton of Indiana, Maurice Usselton of Michigan; one sister, Evelyn Shipley of Murfreesboro.

The family asks that donations be made to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network.

Martha Van Meter

Martha Pauline Van Meter, age 62, a resident of Garden City, Michigan died Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital in Garden City, MI. Mrs. Van Meter was born December 21, 1940 in Morrison, TN the daughter of Woodrow Hawks and the late Hazel Ruth West Hawks.

She was employed as a nurses aid for a hospital.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Harold Van Meter, son, Richard Van Meter
and daughter, Melissa Van Meter. One brother, Kenneth Hawks, Morrison, TN., Two sisters, Betty Harden of Manchester, TN., Joyce Van Meter of Northville, MI. Also several nieces, cousins and friends.

Burial will follow in the Shady Grove cemetery.

Marjorie Iva Lee Vandergriff

Marjorie Iva Lee Vandergriff, age 78, a resident of Manchester, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at United Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born May 3,1925 in Cumberland County, TN the daughter of the late Bishop A. and Bertha Davenport McCormick. She was one of the first employees of the former Coffee County Hospital where she was employed as an office manager for many years. In 1968 she transferred to the former Coffee County Nursing Home where she remained employed until her retirement. She and her husband, the late Chester Floice Vandergriff also owned and operated "Vandergriff Shell Station" in Manchester for many years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Clifton Detamore and two grandchildren, Samuel Tyler Detamore and Heather Nicole Detamore all of Hendersonville, TN, six brothers and sisters, Mary Jane Parham Thomas of Manchester, Claudia Wisegarber of Kettering, OH, J.D. McCormick of Tullahoma, Joyce Watson of Manchester, Betty Jean Roper of Huntsville, AL and O.J. McCormick also of Manchester and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
