Rayburn Webb, age 67, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1936 in New Hope, AL. He was employed at Roberts Nissan in sales. He was a member of the United States Air Force and also a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Webb of Manchester, daughters Rhonda Myers of Manchester, Hope Davenport of Alabama and Felicia Brady of Manchester and a son, Matthew Webb of Manchester, eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Alene Motes, Susan Snow and Lora Gilley all of Alabama and a brother, Hester D. Webb also of Alabama.

Brother Bill Murray will officiate services and burial will follow at Ragsdale cemetery.

Edward Welborn

Edward Welborn, age 81, a resident of Manchester, died Friday, December 13, 2002 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1921 in Marshall, Alabama the son of the late Starnes Carter Welborn and Bessie Duncan Welborn. He is a retired local business man having operated Welborn & Son Hardware for many years. He is a World War II Arm Air Corps Veteran and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Coffee County Visually Impaired or to the Coffee County Public Library.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Lowry Welborn of Manchester, two sons, David ( Emily) Welborn of Tullahoma and Jack (Carolyn) Welborn of Manchester, four grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Welborn Greene of Great Falls, Montana.

Brother Horace Lee Jacobs will officiate services and burial will follow at Shady Grove cemetery.

Ella Isbell Wells
Date of Birth: Saturday August 01, 1925
Date of Death: Saturday April 10, 2004

Miss Ella Isbell Wells, age 78, a resident of Manchester passed away Saturday morning at United Regional Medical Center Nursing Home in Manchester. She was born August 1, 1925 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy Wells and Beulah Cross Wells. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katherine Crimm and a brother, Roy Norton Wells. In earlier years she was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Main Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Georgia Mae and Loy Smith of Woodbury, TN, dearly devoted cousin, Charlotte Durham and husband, Marshall of Hillsboro and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Main Street Church of Christ or to the charity of one's choice.

Clara Mae West

Clara Mae West, age 78 passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003.

Mrs. West was preceded in death by: Parents; Leslie D. and Lizzie Barnes. Brothers: Walter Allan Barnes and Thomas Junior Barnes, A sister Beatrice Carlton, 2 Sons Roy Edward West and Jackie West.

Mrs. West is Survived By: 2 Daughters: Jeanette Murphy and Royce of Watertown, TN. and Linda Rackley (Joe Ed) of Manchester.
Son - J.L. West of Manchester

12 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren.

Several Nieces and Nephews.

Mary Kate West

Mrs. Mary Kate West, age 79, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Mt. Juliet Health Care. A native of Coffee County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hattie Teal.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon M. West, a grandson, Mitch Winfrey and a brother, Leland Teal.

She was employed in earlier years at Brock Candy Factory and was a member of the Lupton Drive Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

She is survived by three daughters, Doris McFerrin of Nashville, Shirley Winfrey of Nashville and Kozie Willingham of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at the Old Reddens cemetery with Brother Gordon Donahoe officiating.

Aubrey Jackson West

Mr. West, age 71, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was the son of the late Odie West and Annie Toliver West Ferrell and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bell Buckle.

He is preceded in death by a special friend, Jesse Ferrell and a brother, Alvis West.

He is survived by his wife, Berlene Hockett West of Bell Buckle; two sons, Larry (Jane) West of Bell Buckle, Doyle West of Bell Buckle; five daughters, Brenda (Tommy) Pinkston of LaVergne, Dawn (Rudy) Pilkington of Shelbyville, Edna (Tony) Davis of Shelbyville, Audrey (David) Reed of Richland, MO, Joyce West of Cherry Tree, MI; one brother, Bob O. West of Detroit, MI; one sister, Ruth Wiser of Manchester; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Hoo Doo cemetery. Reverend Tommy Dye will officiate the services.

Forrest Samuel Wilder

Forrest Samuel Wilder, age 55, of Manchester, died October 3, 2002

Mr. Wilder was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Warren and Lena Gail McMahan Wilder and by a brother, Leighton Wilder.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sharon Wilder of Manchester; a daughter, Dewana Blackburn of Manchester; a son, Leighton Wilder of Manchester; step children, Gerri Garrett and Carmen DiSanto, both of Manchester;

4 grandchildren, Niki Wilder, Tara Blackburn, Veronica Blackburn and Kristina Blackburn; 2 step grandchildren, Sharon Garrett and Dominic DiSanto, all of Manchester;

2 brothers, David and Tom Wilder, both of Manchester;

2 sisters, Nancy Sain of Smyrna and Mica Bowels of Manchester.

Burial will follow in the Summitville cemetery.

Rex Ervin Williams

Rex Ervin Williams, age 44, a resident of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2003 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born November 21, 1958 in Coffee County, the son of William Wesley Williams and the late Mary Elizabeth Simmons. He was a member of Bible Church of Manchester.

In addition to his father, survivors include his loving wife, Terry Lynn Williams, daughter, Brandy Williams, brothers, Clyde ( Sandra Faye) Williams, Charles Williams, Randall (Linda) Williams, Albert (Colleen) Williams, sisters, Lois (Jimmy) Cyre, Helen (Don) Hill, Barbara (Tommy) Michal, Joyce Pateritsas, Carolyn (Kenny) Taverner, Linda (Buddy) Cooley, special nephews, Ricky (Shannon) and Cody (Hunter) Hill and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many loving friends.

Burial will follow services at Blanton's Chapel cemetery and Brother Paul Baggett will officiate services.

Kenneth Willis

Graveside services for Henry Kenneth Willis, age 71 of Hillsboro will be conducted at 1pm, Monday, May 24 at the Hillsboro Memorial cemetery with Rev. Martin Bowlin officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5pm until 9pm, Sunday, May 23 at the Manchester Funeral Home. Mr. Willis died Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

Mr. Willis was the son of the late John F. Willis and Maggie Henley Willis. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1950 and joined the United States Navy in November of 1955 where he served until 1957 on the USS Wren. Following his service, he pursued his love of farming in the Hillsboro community where he attended both the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and the Hillsboro First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Willis. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Jane Willis of Hillsboro, Children, Pam (Mike) Bolin of Knoxville, Patricia (Stephen) Duncan of Hillsboro, Lisa (Dale) Crabtree of Winchester, and Doug (Joan) Willis of Hillsboro, grandchildren, Megan, Benjamin & Jared Bolin, Lindsay Duncan, and Samantha & Jennifer Willis, step grandchildren, Greg & Gabe Crabtree & Franklin & Katherine Cammack and one step great grandchild, Chad Crabtree. Also surviving are brothers, Jack, Fred & Bob Willis, all of Hillsboro, and sisters, Cora Roper & Christine Deadman, both of Hillsboro, Jean Sullivan, Betty Jaggers & Ann Wells, all of Manchester, Several Nieces & Nephews. Sylvia Annette Wilson

Sylvia Annette Wilson, age 62, of Manchester, died August 29, 2002

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Denny Fitch and Florence Hunt Fitch; one brother, William Fitch; and two sisters, Eva Upton and Louise Hopper.

She is survived by her husband, Houston Wilson, two sons, Phillip Dean and Billy Dean, two daughters, Kimberly Uselton and Cheryl Seeback, one brother, Clarence E. Fitch, one sister, Ailene Scheuermann,
eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Johnny Jack Wilson

Mr. Johnny Jack Wilson, age 77, passed away June 15, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. A native of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina was a carpenter who worked with dry wall. He was a US Navy veteran, serving in WWII.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Robert Wilson and Mallie Mae McDaniel Wilson. He is survived by a son, John J. Wilson, Jr. of Illinois.

Private services will be held at a later date. Manchester Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mary Saunders Wiltshire

Mary Saunders Wiltshire, age 90, a former resident of Manchester passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro. She was born November 25, 1912 in Manchester, the daughter of the late William Pitt Hickerson, III and Daisy Faulkner Hickerson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chatauqua and Wesley Wanders. Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or to the Manchester Public Library.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Nathan Wiltshire and a son, John Nathan Wiltshire, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Heloise Shilstat of Murfreesboro, grandson, Daniel Shilstat of Murfreesboro, granddaughter, Alexandra McClure of Medford, Oregon, a great-grandchild, Zahreh and a brother, Robert Hickerson of Black Mountain, NC.

Reverend Jay Archer will officiate services and burial will follow services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Janet Lynn Shelton Winkler

Janet Lynn Shelton Winkler, age 31, a resident of Hendersonville, TN passed away Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN after an extended illness. She was born December 1, 1971 in Tullahoma, TN the daughter of Benny Elroy Shelton of Manchester and Mary Elizabeth Shelton also of Manchester. She was a homemaker a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jason Farris Shelton and grandparents, John and Goldie Nowlin.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Lawrence Winkler, daughter, Jessica Jaylynn Winkler and son, Jeffrey Lawrence Winkler, II all of Hendersonville, a brother, Joseph Elroy Shelton of Manchester, grandparents, Maggie and Aron Shelton of Manchester and her cat, Princess.

Services will be conducted by Brother Donald Gregory. Burial will be at Bly cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Salvation Army.

James Winton

Funeral services for James Gilbert Winton, age 83, will be conducted Thursday August 8, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home with Rev. James Chicke officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley's Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Winton died Monday at Medical Center of Manchester. He was born August 22, 1918 in Coffee County, TN the son of the late James William Winton and Mary Magdeline Kidd. He was a farmer and a member of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Estelle Winton in 1999 and a brother, Fred Winton.

He is survived by a son, Carl Wayne Winton of Manchester, a daughter and son-in-law. Jeannete and Douglas Patton; two grandchildren, Mark Patton and Connie Finney and a grandson-in-law, Dewayne Finney. Also surviving is a brother, Edward Winto of Newton, Iowa and two sisters, Zela Martin of Manchester and Claudia Stevens also of Newton, Iowa

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 9:00 PM, at Manchester Funeral Home.

Edna Ella Winton

Edna Ella Winton, age 90, a resident of Lakeland, Florida and former resident of Manchester passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Wedgewood Health Care Center in Lakeland, FL. She was born August 13, 1912 in Hillsboro, TN. She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lena Meyers and her husband, Dillard R. Winton, who passed away in 1962.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Inez Laycook of Lakeland, FL, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Willie J. White and Sammie Spry both of Manchester.

Burial will follow services at Hillsboro Memorial cemetery in Hillsboro, TN.

Joshua John Wolfe

Joshua John Wolfe, age 23, of Hillsboro, died August 28, 2002

Mr. Wolfe is survived by his wife, Katrina Wolfe; 2 children, Jada Renee Wolfe and Codi Lanae Wolfe, parents, R.J. and Nadine Wolfe, 1 brother, Aaron J. Wolfe, 1 sister, Laura Beth Wolfe, grandparents, Mary Derkin, Ernest and Ida Brewer.

Burial will follow in the Beechgrove Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Trust for Joshua Wolfe's Children at People's Bank and Trust.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leighton Kenneth Wood, age 71, of Manchester, died December 18, 2002

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis B. Wood and Nancy Louester West Wood; two brothers, Elbert W. Wood and Jessie T. Wood; and one sister, Lula Wood.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Wood of Manchester;
three sons, Leighton W. Wood of Kingsport, TN, Ronald K. Wood of Manchester, and Bobby Dwight Wood of Maryville, TN;
one sister, Lena May Reagan of Crossville;
two brothers, Lewis Wood and James Wood, both of Sparta;
thirteen grandchildren, Heather Wood, Hilaire Wood, Tiffany Wood, Andy Wood, Janet Wood, Ashton Wood, Joey Wood, Dwight Wood, Josh Wood, Teagan Wood, Luke and Cassidy Wood, Sarah Wood, and Cammi Wood.

Burial will follow in the Forest Mill cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Forest Mill cemetery Fund or the American Lung Association.

William Lawson "Bubba" Woodard, Jr.

William Lawson "Bubba" Woodard, Jr., age 51, a resident of McMinnville, TN passed away Saturday, June 12, 2004 in Cookeville, TN. He was born November 14, 1952 in Nashville, TN the son of William Lawson Woodard, Sr., and Agnes Taylor Woodard. He was a United States Navy Veteran and in earlier years was employed in the aluminum siding industry.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Elvis Lawson Woodard and Bessie Woodard Mooneyhan and also Ed and Mary Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Linda Woodard of Hudson, NY, and a sister, Marlene Jones of Nashville and several other loving family members and friends.

Brother Jimmy Savley will officiate services and burial will follow at Old Greenbriar cemetery in Greenbriar, TN
