DONAHUE, DARRELL WAYNE, SR. age 57 of Halls passed away Wednesday June 16, 2004 at his home. Retired as a SSGT from Air National Guard and was formerly employed by Knox County School Division. Was of Baptist faith. Preceded in death by father: Clyde Jackson Donahue and mother Ruby Loraine Donahue: sister Patsy Griffey.

Survivors

Survived by son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Stacey Donahue, Jr. of Powell: daughter and son-in-law: Shannon and Nathan Wallace of Andersonville: sons and daughters-in-law, David and Chantal Donahue and Brian and Marjoliane Donahue of Holland. Several grandchildren to include locally: Katelinn Dorris, Seth Webber, Austin and Cierra Donahue. Nephew, Brad Griffey. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survived.

Service

Funeral services will be 8 pm Thursday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Fate James Green officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel at 10:30 am Friday to proceed to Greenwood cemetery for 11 am graveside service. Full military Honors will be provided by Volunteer State Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Hill, Justin Hill, Jordan Hill, Ronnie Green, Troy Roberts and Lee Ward. Hodges, Dorothy Armstrong, born September 9, 1920 went to be with the Lord and Burt on July 31, 2002. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Burton E. Hodges; parents, Clyde and Lola Armstrong; and daughter-in-law, Ann Hodges.

Survivors

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael E. Hodges; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jack Cardwell; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Robert Rhoades; grandchildren, Matt Cardwell, Anita and Kevin Biggs, Billy and Amy Julian, Missy and Jack DeCort; great grandchildren, Ashley and Chloe Biggs, Christopher Julian, and Celine and Alexandra DeCort.

Service

Funeral services will be held Sunday 3:30 p.m., Forest Grove Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Travis Sturgill and Rev. Harley Brown officiating. Interment icon will follow at Forest Grove cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the church family. Veteran of the US Army serving during World War II participating in the D Day Invasion. Preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Mary Trammel Sharpe; brothers Quentin and John Sharpe; sister Mary; great-grandson, Kaleb Dockery.

Joseph Bruce Kennedy

Kennedy, Joseph Bruce, age 42, of Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at his home. Joe was born September 11, 1959 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of Bruce Mason and Lena Brock Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy received a BA degree from the University of Tennessee, an MA degree from Cornell University, a JD degree from the University of Virginia and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. While attending the University of Tennessee he received the distinction of being TorchBearer, Valedictorian of his class, and Neyland Scholar. He was employed by Deloitte and Touche LLP in Charlotte as a tax consultant. Joseph held numerous civic and public offices which included, Clerk for the Honorable Clement Haynsworth, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Association for Corporate Growth, Carolinas Chapter, Board of Directors, American Bar Associations of District of Columbia, North Carolina, and Georgia, and Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Board of Directors.

Wife, Beverly; daughter, Annah Cate; stepchildren, Tyler and Rachel Harrington; parents, Bruce and Lena Kennedy of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters, J. Dione Kennedy and Angela Kennedy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Sheila Kennedy Wills of Aspen, Colorado.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. today at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 6800 Sardis Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, with the Rev. Sally Lankford officiating. The family will also receive friends at Mount Harmony Baptist Church, Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee on Sunday, July 28, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A brief preinterment service will be held at the church at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Cleda C. Stokes

Stokes, Cleda C., age 85, of Knoxville passed away Saturday July 27, 2002 at St. Mary's Holston Health Care. Formerly a resident of Island Home Blvd. and Williamsburg Villas. She was a member of South Knoxville Baptist Church and had worked at Miller's Department Store in the toy and china department for many years. She was preceded in death by husband Robert H. Stokes.

Son, Robert H. Stokes, III; son and daughter in law: James E. and Brenda Stokes; daughter and son in law: Sandra and Jon Lash; brothers: Bill Cox, Jim Cox; sisters: Edith Silvey, Fay Amburn, Ruby Minge; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

TURNER, ROXIE LEE KYLE, of Halls, went to be with her Lord Monday, June 14, 2004 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. A member of Smithwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, Romie Loy and C.B. Turner: daughter-in-law, Carolyn Loy: great grandson, Dusty Loy: brother: Dennis Kyle and sister, Peggy Vlach.

Survivors

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws: Ron Loy, Steve and Debbie Turner, Mark and Allison Turner, brother: Gilford Kyle and sisters: Seldon Anderson, Faye McNeil, Helen Brewer and Joan Huff. “Nan Nan” was a beloved grandmother to Charlie and Shannon Loy, Stacey and Lisa Loy, Jody Loy, Russ Turner, Chad Turner and fiancé Haley Crisp, Jake and Holly Turner, Brad Turner, Natali Turner and Spencer Turner. She had 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Marie Guinn; daughter, Anne G. Melton; and brothers, Henry A. Guinn and S. Frank Guinn.

Preceded in death by father, John Capizzi, Sr; son, Kenneth Capizzi; and brother, Anthony Capizzi. He was well liked by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
