Member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and was employed at Standard Knitting Mills for 42 years. Preceded in death by parents, Jake and Mary Russell; brothers, Edward, Fred, Raymond and Jim Russell; and sisters, Johnnie Helton, Ida Purkey and Grace Rogers.

Ingram; daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Eddie Rule of Seymour; granddaughters: Lora Irwin and husband, Bryan of Richmond, Virginia; Amy Rogers and husband, Steve of Seymour; Holly Rule of Seymour; great-grandchildren: Michael and David Bozzone of Seymour; Bryan, Andrew and Cade Irwin of Richmond, Virginia; Amber, Dana and Holly Rogers of Seymour; sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Beecher Baker of Seymour; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Brenda Sise; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Tom and Helen Ingram of Maryville; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ingram of Mobile, Alabama.

Service

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Valley Grove Baptist Church, with Dr. Bobby Tucker and Rev. Harry Mynatt officiating. Interment icon will follow at Highland South cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Life Center, c/o Valley Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway in charge of arrangements.

Charles B. Adams

Adams, Charles B., age 65, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Baptist Hospital.

Survivors

Loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Judy Adams; son, William Adams and wife Annetta; son, Larry Adams and wife Cindy; granddaughter, Ashley Adams; many other relatives and friends.

Service

Per Mr. Adams' wishes he was cremated. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.

Nora Rainwater Caton

Caton, Nora Rainwater, age 99, of Seymour, TN passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church Seymour and former longtime member of South Knoxville Baptist Church. She was the co-owner of Caton’s Grocery Store on Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville for 41 years with her husband, John B. Caton, who predeceased her.

Survivors

Survived by daughter, Betty Jean Helton; sons, Ray Caton, Paul Caton and wife, Elsie; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; sister, Lucy Rainwater of Dandridge; brothers, Clyde and Glenn Rainwater of Knoxville; special sister-in-law, Beulah Goan and husband, Charles.

Service

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Berry Funeral Home Chapel, services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. G. Michael O’Neal officiating. Carolyn Hurn Tate Rose

Rose, Carolyn Hurn Tate, age 49, of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 after a four year battle with cancer. Carolyn was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Her life was a living example of the faithfulness of God. She loved to serve her Lord and lived her life as a testimony for Him.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Valeria Hurn. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Rose; daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and Josh Lowe; son, Chris Tate; grandsons, Hayden and Hudson Lowe; father and stepmother, Arlis and Louise Hurn of Killen, AL; sisters, Charlotte Justice of Muscle Shoals, AL; Shirley Lynn of Sweetwater, TN; brother, Randy Hurn of Lexington, AL; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Reba Rose of Oak Ridge, TN; special caregivers, Vivian Koontz and Yvonne Lee.

Service

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 7:45 P.M. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church, 1620 John Sevier Highway, with services celebrating Carolyn’s life to follow at 8:00 PM, Pastor Clarence Gresham officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Woodlawn cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment icon service. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 9805, Knoxville, TN 37940. Sise, Franklin "Dwayne", age 40, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, February 28, 2003 at his home. Member of Seven Islands Baptist Church. He was a great father that loved his children.

HANEY, COLONEL JAMES MARSHAL (USMC, RETIRED), age 80, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Shannondale Health Care Center. He was a member of Briar Lake Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. He served during World War II, Korean and Vietnam conflicts and was awarded Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation as well as other recognitions. He was a member of the Mason Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine.

Survived by nieces, Barbara Nance Cameron (Victor), Mary Ann Ownby, M. Rebecca Ellison (Jack), Johnnie Brocato (Charles), Debbie Myles (John).
