GREEN, MARGARET “EDNA” age 83, of Pensacola, FL formerly of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 in FL. Member of First Baptist of Pensacola for over 50 years. She retired after 27 years as an elementary school teacher. Preceded in death by husband of 50 years, C. Edward Green, daughter: Donna Green Hudman.

Survivors

Survived by son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Marlene Green, grandchildren: Heather Fretwell, Michael Lee Green, Krystal Green, Jacob Green and Scott Hudman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Service

Private interment icon will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery icon in Knoxville, TN. No other services are planned. Memorials may be made to any local Hospice of your choice or The Alzheimers Foundation. John Brichetto

Brichetto, John “Brick”, 75, died Sunday, August 8, 2004. He was devoted to family, friends, church, Studebaker, and steel guitars. Brick was a native of Knoxville, and a graduate of the Old Knoxville High School and the University of Tennessee. Highlights of Brick’s career include: an Elder of Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, owner of Autosport Specialty, a member of Riders of the Silver Screen, International Studebaker’s Drivers Club, Founder and President of Screen Art, Inc., a Korean War Veteran, leader of Scout Troop 11, and an Eagle Scout. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Paul and Myrtle Brichetto, and first wife Ann Grogan.

Survivors

Jean, his wife of 43 years; brother L.P. Jr. “Bunny” Brichetto; sisters Yvonne Hanes, and Celeste Millen; children John Jr., Jan, Maria, and Joanna Brichetto; grandchildren Claire, Thad and Alex Brichetto Brown; Margaret Rose, Anna, and Maisy Brichetto.

Service

Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery icon Tuesday at 3:00 PM for graveside services, Rev. James McTyre officiating. Donations may be made to Volunteer Ministries or Lake Hills Presbyterian Church Mission Fund. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, 2300 W. Norma Mills

MILLS, NORMA JUNE HEADRICK, age 62, of Corryton, TN, passed away Monday, February 23, 2004, at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Mouth of Richland Baptist Church and a cafeteria supervisor at U.T. Hospital. Preceded in death by parents; Sam Sr. and Erma Headrick.

Survivors

Survived by; husband Herbert (Bud); sons; Ted, Michael, and Darrell; brothers; Bob, Bill, Sam Jr., and Allen Headrick; sister; Barbara Bias; six grandchildren. Special thanks to her church family, her U.T. Hospital cafeteria co-workers, and supervisor, Susan Whitaker for their love and compassion during her illness. Pallbearers will be nephews.

She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and retired nurse from Baptist Hospital. Preceded in death by parents, Homer Haun and Genevieve Painter Haun; husband, Mack Kirby; sisters, Margaret Roth and Dorothy Harmon.

Sherrod, Catherine Michelle, born icon Sept 3, 1981, November 28, 2003 Katie Bug went to be with the Lord. Katie was a beautiful, bright, and courageous young woman at the age of 22. She will be greatly missed. We will miss you and love you always.

Earl Clifton White

White, Earl C., age 85, of South Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Baptist Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was retired from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department as a process server.

Son, Hugo White of El Paso, Texas; brothers, Ray F. White, Roy G. White and wife Mavis; sister, Helen Weals; special nephew, Larry White; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Virginia Crum

Crum, Virginia M., age 75 of Knoxville, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004 at her home after a long illness. Mrs. Crum was of the Methodist Faith and was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Thelma Moser. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, the Coral Group at the University of Tennessee and a member of the James King Chorus. She was a former teacher at West Haven School and Saint Josephs School.

Survivors

She is survived by husband of 55 years, Robert K. Crum, Jr.; son, Ken Crum; daughter, Karen Owen; granddaughters, Shelly White, Heather Ferrando and husband, Dennis; great grandchildren, Luke and Sydney Ferrando of Kingsport; sister, Mary Lee Moser and dear friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Habitat for Humanity.

Graham, Werter Hayden, age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday July 31, 2004. Member of Central United Methodist Church. Retired postal worker from the passport office. He was a graduate of Knoxville Business College, member and Past Master of South Knoxville Lodge #769 for nearly 49 years, a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason, a York Rite Mason, member of the Royal Order of Scotland, a past President and Secretary of Knoxville Chapter of National Sojourners, a 50 year member of Disabled American Veteran and member of The Mended Heart, Chapter 24. Preceded in death by beloved son-in-law, Jack McMinn; son, Steven Graham; beloved mother-in-law, Bessie Smith and brother, Tom Graham.

Norris, Sr., Ralph E. “Paps”, age 74, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Baptist Hospital. Attended former Island Home Assembly of God. Retired from Tennessee School for the Deaf with 30 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Stella Norris; brothers, Ray, Richard, and Roy Norris.

Survivors

Loving and devoted wife of 43 years of marriage, Ann Norris; son, Ralph, Jr. and wife Wendy Norris; very special and loving grandson, Travis Norris; brother, Robert Norris; sister, Joyce Swaggerty and husband Kenneth; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends; very special friend, Troy Bowers.

Alpha Day Howard

Howard, Alpha Day, age 77, of Knoxville, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harvey Day of that city. Beloved wife of Dr. Herbert H. Howard, UT professor emeritus, Mrs. Howard was a faithful member and past elder at Graystone Presbyterian Church, where she served two terms as Clerk of Session. She was a member and officer at Graystone’s Presbyterian Women’s Association and was a member and former president of the OptiMrs Club of South Knoxville. A member of the Montgomery Village Task Force, she was active in the development of the Montgomery Village Ministry. Member of the UT Faculty Women’s Club. Mrs. Howard attended Columbia (SC) Bible College and earned the BS degree from ETSU and MS from the University of Tennessee. Mrs. Howard taught high school English and Spanish in Clinton and Johnson City (Science Hill High School) and at Hillsborough, North Carolina, before coming to Knoxville in 1959. She taught at South High School, Knoxville, from 1959-1968. Her other interests included attending operas and dramatic performances, as well as traveling. She had visited 49 of the 50 states, plus Canada, Cuba and several European countries. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Luster, Tasker, Monroe, Edison and George.

Survivors

Husband of 47 years, Dr. Herbert H. Howard; son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Dennise Howard; infant granddaughter, Emma Laura Howard of Powell, Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Garnett and June Day of Johnson City, Charles and Rebecca Day of Abingdon, Virginia, Frank and Ruth Day of Clifton Park, New York; sisters, Ruth Rickman, Vivian Kelley and Jessie Day, all of Johnson City; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many devoted neighbors, former students, dear friends, and caregiver, Virginia Yarber of Knoxville.

Theodore J. (TJ) Graham
7/12/2004

Graham, Theodore J. (T.J.), age 74, passed away Monday, July 12, 2004 at UT Medical Center. Mr. Graham had been in declining health for the past decade as he battled emphysema and cancer. He was forced to retire early due to his health. He was the third oldest child of Mattie and James Graham. He lived all of his adult life in the Kimberlin Heights Community where he made his life with his wife, Mary Tolliver Graham, for 48 ½ years before she passed away in June of 2002. He and Mary taught Sunday School at Forest Grove Freewill Baptist Church for several years where they both were members. He devoted his life to his family, and he was a surrogate “daddy” to many, many people within the community. He served in the Korean Conflict in the Army where he proudly fought for his country for two years as an infantryman in the heavy mortar battalion. He was an excellent marksman, and earned many accommodations for these skills. While in retirement he had lots of time to enjoy nature. He enjoyed watching the many birds, squirrels and other “critters” that traveled through his yard and surrounding woods. The simple things in life were what made him the happiest.

Survivors

Son and daughter, Larry and Linda Graham. He also leaves surrogate children, Michael and Karyn Cleaver; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Cutshall of Demorest, Georgia plus several devoted nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank the many folks in the community for their love extended to him by their visits, cards, food and phone calls for him to enjoy in his last years. Also, a “special thank you” is extended to his two very caring and compassionate doctors. They are Dr. Fred Hurst and Dr. Kevin Martinolich.

Lemons, Clara Mildred, age 78, of Heiskell, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was of the Church of God faith. Preceded in death by son, Arthur E. Lemons; parents, Hezekiah and Viola Lundy; brother, Hobart (Sonny) Lundy; sisters, Brenda Stair and Dorothy French.
