OAKS, MILDRED K. – age 72 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. Ms. Oaks was retired from Tom’s Foods, Inc. Preceded in death by parents, W. R. and Lula Oaks; Brother, Charles Oaks; sister, Lois Smith; sister-in-law, Shirley Oaks and devoted friend, J. P. Williams.

Survived by; brother, R. G. Oaks; brother-in-law, Allen Smith; sister-in-law, Barbara Oaks; nieces, Darlene Chambers and Kay Batts; nephews, Michael and Mark Smith, James and Wayne Oaks. Several friends and relatives.

He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Swans Sunbeam Bakery with 40 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Isaac Coleman and Emma Edith Poe Padgett; brothers, James Johnson, Charles Oscar and Abraham Jasper Padgett.

He is survived by wife, Delores Ann Padgett; daughter, Patricia Ann Padgett of Oak Dale, Tennessee; son, Gary Wayne Padgett and wife, Juanita of Brevard, North Carolina; grandchildren, Garret Padgett, Dennis Wesley Marine, Larry Wayne Marine, and Lisa Ann Tallant; great-grandson, Andrew Tallant; sister, Frankie Harris of Blue Ridge, Georgia; brother, Coleman Padgett of Copperhill, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.

Isaac E. “Gene” Grant

Grant, Isaac E. “Gene”, age 86 of South Knoxville passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2004. He was a World War II Veteran and a Recipient of the Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed photography. He retired from the T.V.A.

Survivors

He is survived by wife, Irene; sons, Donald, Michael and Patrick; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Service

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Alzheimers Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, Tn. 37919. Interment icon service will be Monday, 11:00 A.M., Sept. 20, 2004 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home.

Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Robinson

Robinson, Thomas Gerald “Jerry”, age 79, of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday September 18, 2004, at U.T. Hospital. He was a member of Laurel Church of Christ, Army Veteran of World War II, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, and a member of the Quarterback Club. Mr. Robinson was an electrical engineer and worked at Robertshaw Fulton, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Edna Robinson.

Survivors

His survivors include: devoted wife of 54 years Helen Robinson; daughters and sons-in-law: Debby and Jim Williams, Judy and Larry Bosse; Grandchildren: Leigh Williams Doettl and her husband Steve, Tony and Taylor Williams, and Katie Berrier; Brothers: James and Charles Robinson; sisters: Margaret Guinn and Jayne Harley; and several nieces and nephews.

Service

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 8pm at the chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The interment icon will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home.

Anita Snyder Brewer

Brewer, Anita Snyder, age 67, a native of Colorado, passed away Wednesday September 15, 2004 in her Knoxville home. She was preceded in death by parents, Eunice and William Snyder; aunt and uncle, Anita and Tom Dillingham; son, Shawn Salyer; granddaughter Cherise Forbes.

Survivors

Son, Tim Salyer & ex-wife Mary Sue; daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Doug Phillips, Terri and Terry Brandfast and Sandi and Mark Rainwater; cousin, Tom Dillingham his wife Lori and their 5 children; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friend Sandi Jones; and the many friends gained while living here in Knoxville.

Service

A memorial Service will be held at Northgate Terrace Apartments, 4301 Whittle Springs Road Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 3:00 PM, Rev. Tony Russell officiating. Her last wishes were to have her cremains buried with her deceased son Shawn. A very special thanks to Fred and Jeff Berry at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway for their services.

Employee for Railroad Security for 22 years and was an avid foxhunter. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the US Army. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Theodora Moore; brothers, Vernon, Ralph and Bill Moore.

Wife, Frances Moore; daughter, Pamela Moore and friend, Steve Self; son, Thomas “Tim” Moore and wife, Sharon; daughter, Tonya Burchell and husband, Lester; grandchildren, Tiffany Haun; Lindsay Moore; Chad, Hunter, Madison and Macey Burchell; great granddaughter, Aliyah Haun; step-grandchildren, Shelby, Sherry and Norman; step-great-grandchildren, Dwayne, Ashley and Triston; sisters, Edith Hendricks, Ruth Maples and Evelyn Moyers, all of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. She was a precious saint of God, and known as “Mom” to all at Kimberlin Heights Church of God. Preceded in death by husband, James Milligan; daughters, Debbie Lovett, Mildred and husband, Charles Ownby; sons-in-law, Kenneth Fuller, Joe and James Proctor; grandson, Jason Pope; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Whitney.

Survived by sons, James, Fred, Michael, Eddie Milligan and wife, Mary; stepson, Buddy Sharp; son-in-law, Alan Lovett; daughters, Shirley Proctor, Margaret Fuller of Jacksonville, Florida; Rebecca Milligan, Freda Pope, Teresa King and husband, Donnie; 15 very loved grandchildren; 5 very special great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Richards and Clara Riffey; specially loved sitters, Johnny Jones, Diane Ross and Mary Baker; many other special family members and many friends. Mom Milligan will be greatly missed by all.

Mrs. Hickman was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for 52 years and was preceded in death by her parents, Walter C. and Lucy Bollinger; husband, Bill Hickman; son, Jerry Hickman, brother, Bud Bollinger and sister, Pauline Hickman.

Survivors; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Frank Henderson, Birmingham, AL; son, Mark Hickman of Knoxville. 4 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons; sisters, Thelma Heatherly, of Knoxville, Cecil Plaster, Marian Lay both of CA. Several nieces and nephews.
