Key, Charles “Ronnie,” 23, of South Knoxville, went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 27, 2007 at 1:45 pm due to injuries sustained from a car accident. He was preceded in death by father Michael A. Key.

Survived by mother Shirley E. Key; sister, Shannon L. Key; brother in law, Edward Mackerson; his first unborn nephew, “Lil Ronnie.” wife, Misty R. Key; daughter, Brittany Michelle Key; sons, Caleb Adrian Key and Jacob Ronnie Key; He also leaves behind aunts, Nancy Key and Lesa Hoff; uncles, Sherman and Mark Weaver; cousins, Bobby, David and Amanda Key; as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ronnie worked at Outback Steakhouse, where he had several friends. Ronnie enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with his kids and family. “Some people come into our lives and quickly go, but Ronnie stayed a while and left footprints on our hearts.” We will always love and miss you Daddy-O.

Setzer, Ruth I. (Granny) –age 90, of South Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She was a lifelong member of Enon Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Tennessee. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Spurling; husband, A.L. Setzer; sons, Harold and Sam; and daughter, Janet.

She was the loving grandmother of 20; great-grandmother of 22; and great-great grandmother of 3. John Robert (Bob) Barrett

John Robert (Bob) Barrett, age 73, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2006 following a short illness. A 1951 graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Bob was the son of the late Riley Boner Barrett and Rowena Barrett Ward of Oak Ridge. After attending the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and serving in the U.S. Navy, Bob returned to Knoxville in 1954 to finish his education at the University of Tennessee, where he majored in Journalism and English, and performed in Carousel Theatre productions and as a member of the Pride of the Southland Band. Bob began his career in broadcasting, working both in radio and as one of the early pioneers of television news in East Tennessee at WBIR-TV 10. Later, he moved to The Knoxville News-Sentinel, where he retired in 2003 after serving for 38 years in numerous capacities, including as Fine Arts Editor and Religion Editor. Bob and his wife, Anne, also operated Leslie-Barrett Photography in South Knoxville. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville, and of the First Baptist Sanctuary Choir, in addition to serving as an interim choir leader for other Knoxville area congregations. He was involved in many other community activities, including service as a Scoutmaster and as one of the first volunteer leaders involved in establishing urban 4-H Clubs in Knoxville in the 1970s. Bob also enjoyed participating in the fun and fellowship of barbershop quartet singing as a member of Knoxville’s Smokyland Sound Chorus.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lena Anne Barrett of Knoxville, stepfather Bennie Ward of Oak Ridge, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Melissa Barrett of Chattanooga, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Skylar Silvers of Fredericksburg, Virginia, grandsons William Silvers of Fredericksburg and Nicholas Barrett of Chattanooga, sister and brother-in-law Judy and David Birdwell of Knoxville, brother David Barrett of Lincoln, Nebraska and sister-in-law Clare Barrett of Boise, Idaho, stepsister Jane Meredith of Springfield, New Jersey, nieces Leslie Birdwell of Chicago, Illinois and Jodie Birdwell Brown and husband Greg of Silver Spring, Maryland, and nephews Thomas Barrett and wife Amanda and Alan Barrett, all of Boise.

Riggs, Vicky Owen, age 57, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at her residence.
Vicky was the devoted wife of James Kenneth Riggs and the loving and nurturing mother of her son Kevin Christopher Riggs and daughter Kristin Rebecca Riggs. Vicky was born
in Danville, Virginia on June 5, 1951 to McCoy and Virgie Owen.
She was predeceased by her beloved “daddy.”
She grew up in Knoxville and was a graduate of Knox County Schools.
She graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee in 1973.
Vicky was a lifelong educator and taught in the Knox County School system for 12 years before moving to Charlotte in 1983.
She was a homemaker for 20 years while raising her family and for the past four years taught at inner city elementary schools in the Charlotte area.
Vicky loved teaching and working with underprivileged children.
In addition to her family and career, she had a profound love for animals and reading.
Survivors
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her mother, Virgie Owen of Knoxville; sisters, Cynthia Huff and husband Bill; Terry Nieporte and husband, Bob; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs Trudy, Max, Ella, and Macie.
Service
In lieu of flowers it is the desire of the family that donations in Vicky’s name be made to children’s libraries or the Humane Society.
Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Christian Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Rev. Dean Davis and Rev. Charles Beckett officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

A celebration of her life will be held in Charlotte on Saturday, January 3rd from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the family home.
