ARMSTRONG, DOROTHY "JEAN" - age 54, of Mascot, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, April 7 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. A beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Armstrong was a native of Knox County and a member of Roseberry Baptist Church in Mascot, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Hazel Mingie. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Mr. Boyd Armstrong of Mascot; son, Boyd (Buddy) Armstrong, Jr. of Mascot; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Darryl Marlow of Nashville; daughter, Teresa Armstrong of Mascot; brothers, L.E. Mingie, Jr., Bob Mingie, Fred Mingie and Paul Mingie, all of Knoxville; one sister, Betty McNabb of Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. Armstrong is at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, where services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Kenny Shinlever officiating. Interment icon to follow at Highland Memorial cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11-1:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Roseberry Baptist Church, 2920 Roseberry Road, Mascot, TN 37806 c/o The Music, Bus or Youth Fund. CARDWELL, ELMER E. - age 84, of Corryton, passed away April 7, 1999 at U.T. Hospital. Member of Smithwood Baptist Church. Veteran of World War II. Survivors: wife, Alice Cardwell; daughters, Nancy Hope Major and Anita Rule; son, Bill Cardwell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Zena Myllymaki of Knoxville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Mynatt's.

CLONIGER, HELEN - age 83, of Maryville, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Earl Cloniger. Survivors: son, Edgar Cloniger of Maryville; daughter, Ginger Cloniger of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Wayne Everett of Maryville; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Payne of Walland and Susie Law of Maryville; two special caregivers, Ruth Williams and Mary Frye. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. George Macht and Rev. Darrell Milsapps officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, at Grandview cemetery for the interment. COLDIRON, JOEL G. - age 27, of Knoxville, passed away Monday at University Hospital. Survivors: parents, Larry and Joy Coldiron, Knoxville; brother, Larry Daniel Coldiron of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Tammy Mueller of Kodak, Tenn.; daughter, Linda Marie Coldiron of Chicago, Ill.; grandmothers, Chloe Pennington of Harla, Ky., Elva Coldiron of Crossville, Tenn. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. John Baughman officiating. Interment icon following in Lynnhurst cemetery. DAVENPORT, DOROTHEA B. - age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at Fort Sanders Hospital. He had been a Sales Representative for Fuller Brush and Studio Girl. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Mary McCammon and brother, Calvin McCammon. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Evelyn and Dennis O'Toole, Mary Lou and David Mikels and Lois Riley; sons and daughters-in-law, James W. and Pat Davenport, Calvin E. Davenport, Thomas and Karen Davenport; 10 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin McCammon; special friend, Howard Mathis. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. George Gilbert officiating. Interment icon at Galilee cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herman Love, Steve and Chris Elliott, Tim and Eric Mikels, James Riley, Clarence Scott and Mark Potter. Memorials may be made to Fort Sanders Hospice. GARY, MARY LUCILLE NEAL (TOOTSIE) - slept sweetly to her Heavenly Home April 5, 1999 at the age of 40 years. Preceded in death by her mother, Martha Neal Cunningham and father, James Edward Neal. She leaves to cherish her home going: devoted husband, Anthony (Tony) Curtis Gary; loving daughter, Talethia Anthenese Gary of the home; mama, Mary L. Lane of Knoxville; three sisters, Shelia (Stephen) Kite, Jessie (Walter) Downs of Seymour, TN, Rev. Margaret (Ralph) Mack of Oak Ridge, TN, Mary (Bishop H. Jenkins) Bell of Nashville, TN; four brothers, Steve Crawford of Knoxville, Eric (Angela) Lane of Knoxville, David Lane of Kingston, TN, Clyde (Lisa) Lane of Hoover, Ala.; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Jerry Gary of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters-in-law, Tonya (Harold) Sherrod and Stephanie Crump of Knoxville; two brothers-in-law, Dwight (Avis) Gary of Knoxville and Aundrea Gary of Los Angeles, CA; fourteen nieces; three great-nieces; six nephews; two great-nephews; five aunts to include Barbara Martin and Ruth Coggins of Knoxville; two uncles and a host of devoted family members and friends to include Dialysis Clinic, University of Tenn. Hospital medical staff and her church family of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church. FINCANNON, WILLIAM H. (BILL) - age 76, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Baptist Hospital. Deacon and Trustee at Broadway Baptist Church, where he held many different offices. He was a US Army veteran in WWII, where he received the Purple Heart and several other awards. Preceded in death by: parents, Samuel L. and Bobbie Fincannon; brother, Jack Fincannon; sister, Dorothy DuBrucq. Survivors: wife, Imogene Fincannon; brothers, Al Fincannon and wife, Norma, Chattanooga, Robert Fincannon and wife, Ruth, Midlothian, Va., Sam Fincannon, Jr. and wife, Emily, Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Blanche Fincannon, Knoxville, Ruth Houston, McMinnville, Tenn. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Baptist Church, Rev. Dudley Cockrum officiating. HAYES, MR. CLARENCE R., SR. - age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his residence. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Collier. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Hayes; sons, Robert Hayes and wife, Carolyn, Charles Hayes and wife, Karen, Howard Hayes and wife, Lola and Harold Hayes and wife, Mary; daughters, Janie Long and husband, Amos and Mary Maples and husband, Robert; brother, Johnny Hayes; sisters, Bonnie Wolfenberger, Irene Lee and Imagene White; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 8, 1999, from 6-8 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 9, 1999, at 10 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robin Ryder and Rev. Ron Bright officiating. HOLT, MS. STELLA MEYERS - age 91, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of New Tazewell, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 1999 The wife of the late Lewis Holt, who was principal of Claiborne County High School Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999 at The Fairview cemetery with The Rev. Eddie Overholt officiating. Claiborne Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

LANCE, REBA - age 76, of Sweetwater, Tenn., passed away at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at her home. She was a member of the Gregory's Chapel Baptist Church of Sweetwater. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lance; brother, Ed Lance; and sister, Edith Watson. Survived by sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jim Springfield of Harrison, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Zelma Lance of Sweetwater; several nieces and nephews. The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Clinton Riddle and Rev. Gurney Beard officiating. Interment icon to follow in the Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park.

LAY, MARY MOORE HUDSON - age 78, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Magnolia Avenue United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lay was a retired High School Teacher in Knoxville City Schools. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel in charge.

LOVELACE, ANNA MAE - age 74, of Knoxville, passed away April 6, 1999 at Fort Sanders Hospital. Preceded in death by husband, Aaron Lovelace; granddaughter, Kathy Dalton; brothers, George, Wayne, Lawrence and Orville Armstrong. Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Carol (Jeannie) and Dennis Dalton of Andersonville; granddaughters, Natalie Dalton and Julie Dalton and Jennifer and husband, Billy Garren; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and James Gilbreath of Kodak; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Mary Frances Armstrong of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews Family and friends will meet at Mynatt's by 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Roseberry cemetery for graveside service at 11 a.m., Rev. LOY, J.R. - age 67, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at Methodist Medical Center. He was retired as Owner and Operator of Trucks Lease to Systems 81 Express. He was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church. He served in The U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by brother, Eugene Loy and parents, Uless and Bessie Brantley. Survivors, wife of 43 years, Mary Ann Loy of Clinton; daughter, Delores and husband Timothy Woods of Heiskell; son, Mike and wife, Darlene Loy of Clinton; granddaughters, Anna Lee Wood of Heiskell and Angela Loy and Fiancee, Bobby Metcalf of Clinton; grandson, Jason Wood of Heiskell; several cousins, nieces and nephews. OLOFSSON, OLOF JEFFERSON - age 77, of Knoxville, passed away April 6, 1999, at Fair Park Nursing Home in Maryville. He was retired from Aluminum Company after 44 years. He was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club, and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. He was an avid golfer winning tournaments in the 1940's and 50's. He was a member of Lake Hills Presbyterian Church. Survivors: wife, Mary Jane Pruitt Olofsson; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Douglas Winters; one granddaughter, Nicole Winters; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Dave Fugate of Bolton, Miss., Ingrid Broome Williams and Carl Williams of Kingsport, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive cemetery with Rev. Ralph Galyon and Rev. Wayne Provence officiating. PRITZEL, LARRY - 52, of Knoxville, passed away April 5, 1999, at UT Hospital. Preceded in death by father, Robert F. Pritzel. Survived by mother, Pearl Pritzel; uncle and aunts, G.C. and Evelyn McDonald, Birchi Nelson and Elizabeth McDonald. Preceded in death by husband, John E. White and Rev. J. A. Shepard and several brothers. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Margie Houser, Ted and Goldie Langley, all of Maynardville, Virgil and Myrl Peters of Halls, Rev. Hugh and Ruby Brummitt, Charles and Jean Overton, Joe and Jewel Lewis and Maggie Dossitt; brother, Harley Guy of Erie, Michigan; sister, Mae Johnson of Middlesboro, KY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday with funeral services to follow at Ailor's Chapel, Rev. Coy Mink officiating. Music by Oaks Chapel Singers.
