Survivors: daughter, Jean Chumley; grandson & graddaughter-in-law, Charles L. and Marilyn Chumley, Port Orange, Fla.; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Susan and Steve McKenzie, Knoxville; great grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, Melissa McKenzie, Patrick and KarliAnne Chumley; sister, Helen Strange Goins, Knoxville. Graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lynnhurst cemetery, Rev. James D. Kearny, Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church. VANDERGRIFF, ESTHER, age 86 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, October 11, 1999 at Ft. Sanders Hospital. Member of Marbledale Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Noah F. Vandergriff. Survived by son, Jack Vandergriff, Knoxville; daughter, Delores Burton, Goodlettsville, Tenn.; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Family and friends will meet at Asbury cemetery 10 a.m. Wednesday for a graveside service, Rev. Lee Chorn officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Mynatt's.

WILLIAMS, DEXTER,N. age 80 of Lenoir City passed away Sunday evening October 10, 1999 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

WISELEY, GLENN O. - age 84, of 526 Tipton Avenue, S.E., Knoxville, passed away at midnight October 10, 1999 at Baptist Hospital. Glenn was the youngest son of Jefferson and Mala Wiseley and was preceded in death by sister, Bessie Selsor and three brothers, Arthur, Ray and Charles. Glenn attended Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He served 2 ½ years in The U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors: wife, Hazel; daughter, Betty Lou and sister, Helen Lichlyter. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to The First Baptist Church, Knoxville. The family thanks so many friends for their cards and telephone calls. We will join Glenn again sometime as all God's children. Graveside service 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 1999 at Woodlawn cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. WWII U.S. Navy veteran. married Irene Stapleton in 1950, who passed away in 1983. Survivors: son, John Earl Anderson, wife Vicki of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughter, Terri Wright of Knoxville; son, Craig Anderson of Knoxville; grandsons, Trevor Anderson, Thomas Earl Anderson both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Rose Nelson of Knoxville; several nieces. Graveside service 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lynnhurst cemetery with East Tenn. Veteran Guard. The family will receive friends 11-12 noon Tuesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. 2300 W. Adair Drive.

BARNARD, ROBERT C. - age 75 of Knoxville, passed away suddenly March 24, 2000. Retired from 44 years of service with Swan's Bakery, Knoxville. Member of Johnson's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Powder Springs, Tenn. Preceded in death by, loving wife, Helen and parents, Rose and Henry Barnard. Survivors include: sons and daughter in law, Donna and David Rutledge, Phyllis and Steve, Jackie and Jeff, Knoxville; brother and sister in law, Hester and Esko Powder Springs; grandchildren, Kevin, Marsha C. and Mark, Donny Rutledge, Lyndsey and Allen Barnard, Karon and Brian Cochran, Gary and Zachary Barnard all of Knoxville; great granddaughter, Morgon and Alexus Cochran, Knoxville; special nieces, Debra Heinzman, Powder Springs, and Rhonda Hickman, Luttrell; several other loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at McCarty Mortuary and proceed to Doyle Wayne Needham cemetery, Powder Springs for an 11 a.m. graveside service and interment. BRUNER, MS. MARGARET L. - age 76, of Maynardville, passed away Saturday March 25, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Halls. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Stella Wolfenbarger; brothers, J.C. and David Wolfenbarger. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Allen Kelly of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Bruner of Maynardville; granddaughters, Courtney and Allison Bruner; sisters, Marie Cox of Maynardville, Hazel Ridenour of Halls, Bobbie Roberts of Maryville; brothers, Joe Wolfenbarger of New Market, Pat Wolfenbarger of Maynardville and Glen Wolfenbarger of Knoxville; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Ailor's Chapel. Interment icon at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Milan cemetery. COPE, MRS. WARREN S. (THELMA MARIE LAMBERT) - age 87, of Knoxville died March 24, 2000 at the NHC Healthcare Center on Emerald Ave. after a long illness. A native of West Virginia and Kentucky, she was born at Coalwood, W.Va. Her parents were Hiram William Lambert of Coalwood & Virgie Ethel Bandy Lambert of Sayersville, Va. She & her husband Warren moved to Knoxville in 1958 from Glen Alum, W.Va. For many years she & her husband lived at 5924 Parkdale Rd. but a few years ago she suffered a stroke and moved to NHC Healthcare. A member of St. James Episcopal Church for the past 40 yrs. and at one time was very active in the church. Several years ago she worked for Hull Dobbs Agency. Thelma enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband Warren. They spent much time on Norris Lake and had a houseboat off Douglas Lake. Survivors: brothers, Robert H. Mounts of Jamestown, Rev. Franklin Mounts of Kentucky; sisters, Betty Lou Sidebottom of Florida, Eliza Shannon Wilson of Florida. Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment icon Lynnhurst cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends in the Great Hall of St. James Episcopal Church 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. CROFT, FRANK M. - age 57, of 695 Wilson Station Rd., Madisonville, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2000 at his home. Member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a former employee of Craighead Limestone. Survivors: children, Lori, Tina, and Joe; several grandchildren; brothers, Carl, Clyde, & Benjie Croft, all of Madisonville; several nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Ben & Hazel Croft; sister, Minnie Frances Lee & brother, William Croft. Funeral 8 p.m. Monday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Wayne Ditmore and Rev. Willard Bradley officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Tuesday in Eleazar cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

DAVIS, SARAH VANDERGRIFF - age 91, of Powell, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was saved and baptized at an early age and at the present time was being ministered to by First Baptist Church of Powell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Presnell. She is survived by daughter, Thelma Jones; sons, Charles and wife Sue of Knoxville, Carl and wife Mary Sue of Powell; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for an 11 a.m. graveside service, Rev. Jerry Tallent officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr.

Survived by wife, Princella; daughter, Joy; sons, James Jr., Jeffrey, Jerry; granddaughters, Crystal, Jami, Kelly, Genia, Clarissa, Caitlyn, Skylar, Tina, Paige, Brandy, Katlin; grandsons, Michael, Tony, Eric, Josh, David, Jerry, Thomas, Shane, Zack, Anthony; great granddaughter, Mackenzie; great grandsons, Cody, Quawn, Brett, Dillian, Preston & many nephews; nieces; friends. GREEN, ETHEL L. - age 88, of West Knoxville, passed away Saturday March 25, 2000 at her home. Her family started Green's Restaurant, a 46 year old business at 17th St. and Ailor Ave. and she was a highly respected and loved employee by her customers. She was a member of Bearden Christian Church and is preceded in death by parents, Silas & Lottie Green; brothers, Ernest, Elmer, and Earl "Buffalo" Green and a sister, Edna Green Lawson. Survived by daughter, Lana Sue "Tostie" Hinds Snyder & son-in-law, Kenneth "Mickey" Snyder; grandchildren, Tracey Snyder Cannon and husband Jeff of Seymour, Kristie Snyder of Pennsylvania and Kenneth "Mickey" Snyder and wife Kiersten of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Natalie Cannon and Isabel Snyder; several cousins. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday Mynatt's Chapel. Minister Dennis Hounshell officiating. Interment icon Highland Memorial cemetery. HARRISON, LEWIS EDWARD - age 81, of Morristown, passed away Saturday March 25, 2000 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was born November 13, 1918 in Ironton, Ohio to Lewis and Ethel Mae Harrison, which are deceased. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lois Dean Harrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Karen Harrison of Clinton, and Merrill and Maxine Harrison of Mohawk; daughter, Judy Bray of Miami, Fla.; 4 grandchildren, Dwayne and Richie Harrison of Morristown, Lisa Surber of New Hall, Calif., and Eric Bray of New Hall, Calif.; 2 great grandchildren, Maranda and Mekinze Harrison of Morristown; 4 sisters, Mae Morgan and Imogene Hilenburg of Coal Grove, Ohio, Mildred Kitts of Tronton, Ohio, and Betty Allen of Vandalia, Ohio; 1 brother, Junior Harrison of Coal Grove, Ohio; 3 deceased brothers, Rev. William Harrison of Tronton, Ohio, and Alonzo and Robert Harrison of Coal Grove, Ohio. Mr. Harrison was an employee of the Henrite Plant in Ironton, Ohio and later transferred with the company, spending a total of 43 years. He was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church and the Senior Citizen Center. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2000 at Mayes Mortuary with Dr. Kenyn Cureton and Rev. Carl Greene officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men's Bible Class at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church. HINTON, GLADYS HARMON - age 98, of Jefferson City, passed away 11:50 p.m. Saturday March 25, 2000 at Life Care Health Center, Jefferson City. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. H.E. Hinton; parents, Albert and Minnie Harmon; brother, Sam D. Harmon. Member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson City. She was a registered nurse, practicing with her husband, Dr. H.E. Hinton for many years. She was very active in many civic activities in Jefferson County. Survived by many cousins, several other relatives and friends. Graveside services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 28, 2000 at West View cemetery. Rev. Moncrief Jordan officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at West View cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. service. Friends may call at their convenience after 2 p.m. Monday. HOOD, EILEEN HAMMER - age 85, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday March 26, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden and the Order of Eastern Star #437 Bearden Chapter. She was retired from Robertshaw Fulton Controls and was a member of the retirees club. She is preceded in death by husband, Manly W. Hood; sisters, Sara Bessie Rogers and Anna Laura Ray; brothers, Ben and Tom Hammer. Survivors: daughter, Wilma Hood Housewright of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Suzi Johnson and husband Kyle of Knoxville, Laura Housewright of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Bradley K. Johnson and Sumer Fletcher. A private graveside service will be held. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

HUFFSTETLER, BURL SANDERS - age 88, of Maryville, died Sunday, March 26, 2000 at the family home. He was a member of Clover Hill Presbyterian Church and a retired mechanic. Survivors include wife, Lucile M. Huffstetler; sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Linda Huffstetler of Alcoa, David and Anna Huffstetler of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Susan and Archie Berry, Leigh Ann and Tim Thurman, Jenn Huffstetler, Scott Huffstetler; great grandchildren, Maggie and Meggan Berry. Family and friends will meet 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Carpenters cemetery for graveside service and interment icon with Rev. Tom Gilliland officiating.
