Survivors; father, William Reneau, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Hines of Rogersville, Ala., Peggy Arnold of Louisville; brother, John Reneau of Maryville. Family & friends will meet 10:30 a.m. Monday Piney Grove cemetery for graveside service. Rev. Roy Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Mynatt's.

ROCHELLE, ROY, JR. - age 83, of Knoxville, died Friday, January 19, 2001. He was a member and deacon of Second Presbyterian Church. He was owner of Rochelle's Antiques and was retired from Alcoa after 36 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy, Sr., and Mary White Rochelle. Survivors include wife, Elizabeth Luttrell Rochelle; sons and daughter in law, Rob Rochelle and Barry and Karen Rochelle; grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew and Morgan Rochelle; brother and sister in law, Robert W. and Peggy Rochelle; nieces, Mardee, Ann Darby and Ellen Rochelle; nephew, Russell Rochelle. Family and friends will meet Monday at Highland cemetery for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church with Dr. Arnold B. Lovell and Rev. Christopher Leonard officiating. Friends who wish are asked to make memorial contributions to Second Presbyterian Church, 2829 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. 37919 or the East Tenn. Historical Society, 314 Clinch Ave., Knoxville, Tenn. 37902 or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the memorial service. ROCK, BRENDA SUE McNABB McKINNEY - 54 of Chattanooga died January 19, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Hazel McNabb of Philadelphia, Tenn. and step mother, Patricia McNabb Estes who resides in Loudon. Survivors include her husband, Edward (Ned) Rock of Leeds. Ala.; two daughters, Amanda Dawn McKinney and Andrea Jill McKinney; one son, Justin Todd McKinney, all of Chattanooga; one sister and brother in law, Diane and Steve Allmon of Sweetwater, Tenn.; and one step brother, Peter Schulz of Pembroke Pines, Fla. A memorial service will be held Sunday at First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, Tenn. at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Fritts officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Springs cemetery in Loudon, Tenn. Arrangements are by the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Homes Inc. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John UMC, 3921 Murray Hills Drive, Chattanooga, Tenn. 37416.

SHOFFNER, HUDA DEMENT - age 93, of Knoxville, passed away January 19, 2000 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She and her husband were among the founding members of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

STANSBERRY, ALLEEN - age 96, of Sevierville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 17, 2001. Ms. Stansberry was born and raised in Sevier County in The Boyds Creek Community. Aleen's father, T.W. Stansberry had served as Post Master of The Boyds Creek Community from 1914-1935. Following in his tradition, Alleen served as Post Mistress in the same post office from 1942-1955. Alleen was a long-time member of The Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church. Alleen was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Walker and Cordie Felker Stansberry; brother, John Stansberry; sisters, Blanche Whaley and Nellie Willard Scott; half-sister, Bessie Allen. She is survived by her nephews and spouse, Tommy and Peggy Stansberry and Jim Stansberry, all of Seiverville; great-nephews, Bryan, Jeffrey and Jonathan Stansberry and Rocky Line, all of Sevierville; great-niece, Jacinda Stansberry of Sevierville; sister-in-law, Martha Stansberry of Morristown; several cousins and a host of loving friends. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Boyd's Creek cemetery. Interment icon will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 20 at Rawlings Funeral Home. Rawlings Funeral Home has been honored to have been in charge of the final arrangements for Ms. Stansberry.

STOUT, JESSIE KYKER - age 95 of Strawberry Plains passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2001at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was born on October 27, 1905 and is the daughter of the late John Kyker and Martha (Smith) Kyker. Also preceded in death by her husband, Will Ed Stout; son, Herbert Allen; three daughters, Judy, Wilma, and Martha. Jessie was a member of the Thorngrove Christian Church. Survivors; sons and daughters in law, Jimmy Stout and his wife, Donna from Knoxville, Ken Stout and his wife, Mary, and John Stout and his wife, Martha all from Strawberry Plains, Joseph Stout and his wife, Barbara from Columbia, SC; daughter in law, Mable Stout; and son in law, Paul Lindsey; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and many friends of the family. Funeral services will be on Saturday night at the McCarty's at 8 p.m. Rev. Eric Rieger will be officiating. Burial will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Roseberry cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Family will receive friends on Saturday night from 6-8 p.m. at McCarty Mortuary, 4004 Holston Dr.

SUSENS, GERALDINE M. - age 73, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday January 11, 2001, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. Born June 19, 1927 in Norfolk, Neb., she graduated from Venice High School, Venice, Calif. in 1944, and was a member of the Sigma Tau Psi Sorority, PI Chapter of Orange County, Calif. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Mrs. Susens was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Manzer; and her husband, Bernard J. Susens. She is survived by her brothers, Ralph Manzer of Fall Brook, Calif., Richard Manzer of Palm Desert, Calif. and Gene Manzer of Sun City, Ariz.; son, Scott William Susens of Dallas, TX; daughter, Sandra Baron of Athens, Ga.; son, Steven Earl Susens of Washington, DC; sister in law, Shirley Manzer; sister in law, Dorothy Manzer; sister in law, Mary Manzer; daughter in law, Beth Susens; son in law, Gregg Baron; granddaughter, Miller Elizabeth Susens; grandsons, Michael John Susens, Alexander Chase Baron; and many loving in laws, nieces, nephews and their families. A memorial service will be held at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. 37919, on Saturday January 20, at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. in memory of Geraldine M. TAYLOR, MILDRED SHARPE - age 83, of Knoxville, died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at her home. A member and pianist at John Sevier Church of God, she was retired from Levi Strauss & Company and had worked part-time at Food City on Asheville Hwy. She was preceded in death by husbands, Eddie Sharpe and William Taylor; parents, Minnie and Marshall Styles; brother, Clifford Styles. Surviving: sons and daughters in law, Chester and Claudia Sharp, Eustace (Peaches) and Willie Sharpe, Clarence (Byrd) and Joyce Sharpe, all of Knoxville; daughter, Norma Jean Burnett of Knoxville; daughters and sons in law, Eddie-Faye and Hall Medlin of Knoxville, Melody and Robert (Butch) Branch of Seymour; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with the Rev. Tony Lee Richie officiating. WATSON, PAUL ALLEN - age 48 of Rutledge, passed away suddenly Thursday Jan. 18, 2001. He was a member of Tampico Bapt. Church, a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 917 for 28 years. Preceded in death by father, Fred W. Watson. Survived by wife, Linda Ramsey Watson; daughter, Deadra Watson and fiancé, Danny Morgan; son, Craig Watson and fiancé, Miranda Lauderdale; mother, Frances Love Watson; brother and sister in law, Earl and Pat Watson all of Rutledge; special friends, Mick Kennedy & David Stalsworth; several nieces, nephews, other family members and other friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Saturday Fielden Chapel with Rev. Ernest Green and Rev. Bobby Myers officiating. Music by the Vineyard family and Norma Tate. WOLFENBARGER, RUTH V. - age 88 of Knoxville, passed away Friday morning at St. Mary's Medical Center. Member of Central Baptist Church Fountain City. Retired from Levis after many years service. Preceded in death by her son, Price Wolfenbarger. Survived by daughter, Mary Sue Carter; sons and daughters in law, Bob and Judy Wolfenbarger, Chester and Pam Wolfenbarger all of Knoxville; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Emma Pittman, Knoxville, Alma Clowers, Kodak; several nieces and nephews. Friends will meet at Greenwood cemetery 1:45 p.m. Monday for a 2 p.m. graveside service Rev. Ron Mouser and Rev. Allen Smith officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.

ALLEN, DOUGLAS B. - age 74 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday January 20, 2001 at his home. He was a member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class. He was retired from the city of Knoxville as the Assistant Treasurer of Finance Dept. He was a veteran of WWII, and a life member of the DAV. Survived by wife, Olivia Morton Allen; daughters and sons in law, Arlene and Jay Garrison, Knoxville, Judy and Steve Collom Olive Branch, Miss.; grandson, John Allen Garrison, Knoxville; brothers and sisters in law, H.C. and Thelma Allen of Warsaw, NC, Walter and Charlotte Allen of Clayton, NC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 12 noon Wednesday at the Rotunda at East Tenn. State Veterans cemetery, Dr. James R. Bailes officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Washington Pike United Methodist Church 2241 Washington Pike Knoxville, Tenn. 37917. ANDREW, JAMES WALTER - age 84, of Kingston, Poplar Springs Community, passed away Friday afternoon, January 19, 2001, at Roane Medical Center. He was a World War II Veteran and former caretaker of Lawnville, Poplar Springs and Cedar Grove Cemeteries. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and parents, Floyd and Maggie Andrew; a daughter, Jean Dodd and son, Jimmy Andrew; three sisters and one brother. He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Tomlinson of Kingston, Brenda Weeks of Dalton, Ga., and Linda Jackson of Texas; two sons, Charles Andrew of Texas and Don Andrew of Kingston; three sisters, Mary Andrew, Melinda Eblen and Helen Andrew; one brother, Jack Andrew; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2001, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home. ATKINS, MR. CLYDE H. - age 72, of Bull Run Road, Luttrell, passed away 8:02 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was a very loving and giving Husband, Dad and Pappaw. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Raymond Atkins; mother, Pairlee Atkins Daniels; brothers, Newell Atkins, Ronald Daniels, Donald Daniels, and Hobby Daniels. Survivors: Loving wife of 52 years, Hester Wyrick Atkins of Luttrell; brother, J. T. Atkins of Maynardville; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Becky Atkins of Maynardville, Ronnie and Vicki Atkins of Luttrell; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Atkins Curl and Emmet Curl of Raleigh, N.C., Janet Atkins Holloway of Luttrell; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. BARKER, CRITTENDEN AUBURN "CRIT", JR. - died at his home in Oak Ridge, Friday, January 19, 2001 at 1 p.m. Mr. Barker was born in Benham, Ky. to Crittenden and Melva Barker, who are deceased. In 1943 he moved to Oak Ridge as a Tennessee Eastman employee. At the time of his retirement in 1983, he was a cost engineer with Rust Engineering Company in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, the American Assoc. of Cost Engineers, and the Masonic Lodge in Loudon, Tenn. He enjoyed playing golf for many years and was an avid football fan. Survivors include; wife, Doris Barker, Oak Ridge; children, Pamela Barker, St. Augustine, Fla., Debora Lisenbee, Knoxville, Sheree Black, Joy Grubb and husband, Scott, Oak Ridge, Bart Black and wife, Kim, Maryville; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Mildred Joyce Barker, Oak Ridge. Mildred Barker Kingsport; nephews, Robert Burton Barker and wife, Edith, Bill Jack Barker and wife, Debbie, Oak Ridge, Jim Maxwell, Smith's Grove, Ky.; niece, Linda Barker, Oak Ridge. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Monday, January 22, 7 p.m. with Rev. David McPherson and Rev. Bob Gray officiating. BARTLETT, HELEN ROBERTS - age 74, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001, at her home, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. Survived by husband, Ben Bartlett; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Bartlett and David and Lynne Bartlett; daughters and son-in-law, Yvonne Dillener and Denise and Paul Jones; grandchildren, Katie, Courtney, Andrew, Kara, Jordan and Chris; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Katherine Roberts; sister, Lucille Iturbe; several nieces and nephews. BATSON, RUBY R. - age 67, of Dandridge, passed away Friday evening, January 19, 2001, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital, following an extended illness. She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by father, Parmer Rainwater and daughter, Kim Batson Jones. Survivors: husband of 51 years: L.C. Batson; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Eddie Thornton, all of Dandridge; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Donna Batson of Morristown, Don and Lynn Batson of Greenville, and Bill Batson of Louisville; grandchildren, Luke, Belinda, Josh, Matthew, Brent, Jonathan, Micah Elizabeth, Brandon and Mitchell; mother, Alma S. Rainwater of North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ola Gordon, Leona and Doug Spencer, Imogene and Jack Correll, and Martha and Frank Kertz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Simon and Betty, Fred and Debbie, Prosser and Pat, Charles and Bobbie and Roy Rainwater. CARR, JOSEPH FRANKLIN, JR. - age 88, of Sevierville, passed away Friday, January 19, 2001, at Ft. Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. He was the only son of the late J. Frank and Selma Carr. Mr. Carr was a member of the Sevierville Church of Christ, an Army Veteran and was a well known and retired businessman of the Sevierville community for 55 years. He will be greatly missed by his family which includes: wife of 69 years, Mattie Mai Carr; daughter, Mary Kay Pruitt of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Penny Paulette Flippo and husband Ronnie of Columbia, Tenn.; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Michelle Flippo of Columbia, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Herman Byrne and wife, Ruth of Sevierville, Tenn., and John Byrne and wife Marianne of Hendersonville, Tenn; sisters-in-law, Floy Wooten of Atlanta, Ga., and Ann Haile of Hendersonville, Tenn., and numerous cousins. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Brother John Daniels and Brother O'Dell Kirby officiating. Interment icon will follow in Middle Creek cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Byrne, Troy Carr, Austin Stubblefield, Dan Sutton, David Barber and George Washington. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 21, at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
