Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Neubert of Hiawassee, Ga.; sister, Billie Gooch of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; granddaughter and husband, Kelly and Chris Latka; great grandson, Austin Latka, all of Washington, D.C. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Highland Memorial cemetery 9:45 a.m. Thursday for graveside services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Edwin Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

PATTON, CHARLES HENDERSON - 76, owner and director of Patton Funeral Home in Cleveland passed away January 22, 2001, leaving his brother and sister in law, Robert L. (Ann) Patton of Knoxville. Service will be Wednesday, January 24, at 6 p.m. at the Church of God Sanctified, Bishop Guilfor Hill, officiating. Body will lie in state at the Patton Funeral Home 265 Fair Street Wednesday from 8 a.m. til 12:30 p.m. and from 2-6 p.m. service time at the Church of God Sanctified, 746 1st Street. Final service will be Thursday, January 25 in Knoxville at the Jarnigan & Son Mortuary 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. with Rev. Zack Flack, officiating. Interment icon will be at the Tenn. State Veterans cemetery in Knoxville with military honors presented by East Tennessee Honor Guard. RULE, REV. KENNETH KYLE - age 85, of Seymour, passed away Monday, January 22, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, retired bivocational minister, having served several churches for 45 years. Rev. Rule also retired from Fulton Sylphon with 35 years of service. He was the last surviving child of Harley and Ivory Rule, also preceded in death by brothers, Harold Rule and Wilbur Rule; sisters, Leeta Rule and Roberta Cagle. Survivors: wife, Malinda Michaels Rule; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and John Apuzzo of Port Orange, Fla., Maxine and Fielden Burnett of Seymour, Peggy and Gary Whaley of Knoxville, and Phyllis and Tom Fox of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Kathy Rule and Eddie and Delores Rule of Seymour; grandchildren, Kendall Cherry, Melissa and Michael Kirk, Brooke and David Billmeier, Lora and Bryan Irwin, Jeff and Michelle Oliver, Scott and Kari Whaley, Amy and Steve Rogers, Holly Rule, Eric Burnett, Mindy Oliver, Megan Rule, and Aaron Rule; 10 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sarah Jane Rule, Frances Rule, Jean and Orville Sayne, Horace and Ruth Michaels, Harry Michaels, Alma Hollifield, Nellie Brown, and Dwight Cagle, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sanctuary of Valley Grove Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m., Rev. Harry Mynatt, Rev. Bobby Tucker and Rev. Bryan Irwin officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff Oliver, Scott Whaley, Eric Burnett, Aaron Rule and grandsons-in-law, Dave Billmeier, Michael Kirk, Steve Rogers, and Bryan Irwin. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Adult IV Sunday School Class. Family and friends will meet Thursday at Stock Creek cemetery for an 11 a.m. interment icon service. RUSSELL, GLADYS SIMPSON - age 84, of 2627 Bishop Rd., Loudon, passed away 9:10 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a member of Valley View Free Will Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Bowman and Mary Roberts Simpson; stepmother, Sara and infant son; brothers, Joe and Paul Eugene Simpson; sister, Margaret Simpson. Survivors: husband, William T. Russell; children and spouses, Joseph Russell and wife Gail, B. R. Russell, Beatrice Evans and husband Raymond, all of Loudon; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. W. F. SIMMONS, HOBERT L., SR. - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. He was retired from the Union Carbide Y12 Plant, and was a member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church. Mr. Simmons was a loving husband and father, and will be missed greatly. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Mary Margaret Simmons of Knoxville; sons and daughter-in-law, Hobert Lee Simmons, Jr. of Heiskell, and Charles Edward and Linda Simmons of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Pete Simmons of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and George Simmons of Knoxville; sisters, Joann Wells, Betty Terry, Georgia Baker, Geneva Tideman, all of Knoxville, and Elsie Price of Burnsville, N.C., and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Simmons is at Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Lane, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. STOOKSBURY, WILMA SUE - age 48, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Covenant Life Worship Center in Lake City. She was a devoted wife, loving mother & grandmother. Preceded in death by father, Fletis Lloyd. Born April 15, 1952 in Anderson County. Survivors; husband, Willard F. YARBOROUGH, MARSHALL PAGE - died January 19, 2001, after a long, difficult battle with pulmonary emphysema and its complications. The wife of Dr. John A. Yarborough for 58 years, she was born 79 years ago in the beautiful Sandhills Section of North Carolina. Marshall was a graduate of Duke University, where she and Dr. Yarborough met 59 years ago. A popular, involved undergraduate, she was later an active member of many local community clubs & organizations. She was also a Sunday School Teacher, for a number of years, at New Providence Presbyterian Church. Marshall was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by husband, Dr. John A. Yarborough; sons & daughters-in-law, Bill & Emily Yarborough of Maryville, Mike Yarborough and Kathy Sanzo of Silver Spring, Maryland; daughters & sons-in-law, Gayle & Bill Herndon of Atlanta, Ga., Ginger & Dr. Stuart Garner of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Page & Jay Yarborough, Tom, David & Kate Garner, Allison, Patrick & Caroline Yarborough; sisters & brothers-in-law, Mary & Jim Peterson of McLean, Va., & Elizabeth & Bill Wardle of Puta Gorda, Fla.; sister-in-law, Florence (Mrs. Graham) Yarborough of Hampton, Va. STOUT, VINA RUTH - age 63, of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at Park West Hospital. She attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. Ruth was retired from Yale Security. Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Stout; parents, Owen and Mae Babb. Survived by daughter, Janet Rogers and husband Vernon of Lenoir City; granddaughter, Tiffany Glandon of Lenoir City; sisters, Betty Jenkins and husband Roy of Loudon; brother, James Babb and wife Grace of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews; father of her daughter, Jack Walker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lawson and Rev. Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake View cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, David Jenkins, Dave Hooker, Jamie Babb, Jeremy Babb and Dean Babb. WEBB, MRS. JUANITA ELLIS - age 93, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday January 23, 2001 at the Hillcrest North Nursing Home. She was a charter member of the Ridgedale Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker H. Webb; 2 sisters, Ora Turpin and Jessie Reed; 3 brothers, Orville Ellis, George Ellis, and James Ellis. Mrs. Webb is survived by 1 son, Ted Webb and wife, Della of Knoxville; 2 daughters, Norma Byrd and husband, Wayne of Knoxville and Joyce Massengill and husband, Fred of Helena, Ala.; 1 sister, Belle Ellis Traun of Knoxville; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. til 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Weaver Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Highland West cemetery with the Rev. Mark McGill officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Juanita Ellis Webb.

ALLEN, JOHN PERRY - age 71, of 203 Ferndale R., Carrollton, formerly of Knoxville, Tenn., died Tuesday, January 30, 2001. Mr. Allen, a native of Kannapolis, NC, was born on September 27, 1929 the son of the late Ernest Allen and Shirley Kincaid Allen. He was an active member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. He was a Charter Member of Allen Graham Masonic Lodge in Kannapolis, NC, member of the Knoxville Council #75 R. & S.M., the Paxton Chapter #184 R & A.M., and a Shriner with the Yaarab Temple in Atlanta. Mr. Allen graduated from Mars Hill Junior College in 1949 and later graduated with honors from NC State University in 1952, where he was awarded membership into the Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon National College Honor Societies. While in Knoxville, Mr. Allen was a partner for 17 years in the Ford and Allen Construction and Engineering Company. Mr. Allen was a licensed Professional Engineer in Ga. and Tenn. He retired in 1991 from Northfolk Southern and became a self taught and highly accomplished wood worker. Survivors include his wife, Eloise K. Allen; daughters and sons in law, Sherianne & Joe Sullivan, Knoxville, Tenn., Elizabeth & Jeff Green, Whitesburg; sons and daughters in law, Jeff & Loretta Allen, Winston-Salem, NC, Randy & Sheryl Allen, Nashville, Tenn., grandchildren, John Sullivan, Knox Sullivan, Jacob Green, Joshua Green, Rachel Allen and her mother, Pam Allen, Jacqueline Allen, Katherine Allen and Lauren Allen. Memorial services will be held Friday, February 2, 2001 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Thurmond officiating. ATKINS, ELIZABETH ALLEN - passed away Monday, January 29, 2001. She was born in Atlanta, Ga., April 29, 1914, and spent most of her adult life in Birmingham, Ala. She graduated from the University of Alabama, where she received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. While there, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and served as President of the Women's Student Government. She taught mathematics at several schools, eventually retiring from Mountain Brook High School. She was a member of St. Mary's on the Highlands Episcopal Church, the Criterion Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, First Families of Tennessee, and The Club. Until recent years, she was active as a volunteer with various art and music organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. P. Atkins and son, Allen Page Atkins. She is survived by her children, Susan and David Pruet of Daphne, Ala., Alice and Charles Mercer of Knoxville, and George and Martha Atkins of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's on the Highlands. Visitation will follow the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1910- 12th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35255.

BAKER, BENJAMIN TYRUS - age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2001, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith, and a retired District Manager with the Knoxville News-Sentinel, and had worked with the YMCA in past years. He was a World War II Veteran. Preceded in death by daughter, Geraldine Baker and wife Lucy Baker. Survivors: nieces, Brenda K. Adams and Cathy Vandagriff, both of Knoxville, Claudia and Cynthia Romantz of Michigan; cousins, Joseph C. Fowler and Betty Doblestein. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Thursday for graveside services at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. C. Glenn Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

BOLTON, MRS. GLADYS VANNOY - age 79, of Harrogate, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2001, at the Claiborne County Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, Tenn. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. BOOS, ALAN JON - age 56, a former resident of Clinton, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2001, at his residence in Richland, Washington. He was born April 24, 1944, to Philip and Beatrice Boos in Grand Rapids, Mich. Mr. Boos was a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received his Master's in Civil Engineering. Alan was married to his wife, Nancy, on April 24, 1971. He worked for Bechtel Corporation for 31 years, in the Power and Environmental Divisions. His hobbies included remodeling homes and collecting Lionel trains. Alan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy; sons, Matthew and Gregory, and his mother, Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip; brothers, Scott and Philip. A celebration of Alan's life for friends and family will be held Saturday, February 17, from 3-6 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Coxon at 114 Crestview Lane, Oak Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, Wash. 99336, or to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, Wash. 99336.
