Survived by wife, Debbie Lauderdale; daughter, Ginger Lauderdale; grandchildren, Daniel and Harley Lauderdale; sisters, Agnes Wallace and Nell Sinard all of Strawberry Plains, Alene Burchell of Knoxville and Beulah Dugger of Halls; brothers, John Lauderdale of Talbott, David Lauderdale of Strawberry Plains; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday Fielden Chapel with Rev. Charles Valentine officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Thursday Lauderdale cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home New Market.

LOWERY, TED FRANK - age 86, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2001, at the Hill Crest Nursing Home. Ted was born on April 24, 1914, and is the son of the late Henry and Maggie Lowery. Survived by wife, Ruth Kathern Hurd Lowery; sons, Bill and Guy Lowery from Florida, and Lester Lowery from Chattanooga; daughter, Barbara Johnson from Connecticut; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Miller from Nashville; sisters, Ruth Tapcott from Maryland and Mary Harrell from Greenville, Tenn., and many other relatives and friends of the family. Funeral services will be on Wednesday night at McCarty Mortuary, 8 p.m., Rev. Eddie Myers will be officiating. Burial will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Washington Pike Presbyterian cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. for Graveside. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night at McCarty Mortuary, 4004 Holston Drive, from 6-8 p.m.

MARTIN, MARGUERITE G. - age 81 of Maryville, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at her home. Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert A. Martin; son and daughter in law, Robert A. Jr. and Sue Martin; daughters and sons in law, Billie M. and Horace L. Stephens, Michele M. and Michael J. Sadler; son, James L. Martin; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Coyne of Gretna, La.; brother, Billy Gremillion of Belle Chase, La. Family and friends will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia cemetery for a graveside service with Robert A. Martin, III officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at the family home or at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to Blount Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1095 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, Tenn. 37804 or to a favorite charity. MERRITT, LYDIA RUCKER - age 93, of Dandridge, Tenn., passed away Monday afternoon, February 5, 2001, at the Jefferson County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Preceded in death by husband, Elvin Merritt. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Dr. O.L. and Bobbie Merritt of Dandridge; grandchildren, June Ann Jones and husband, Buddy, of Morristown, David Merritt and wife, Holly of Huntersville, NC; great-grandchildren, Bruce and Lauren Jones of Morristown, Heather and Jessica Merritt of Huntsville, NC; brother, Hadley Rucker of Knoxville; nephew, Robert Clark of Knoxville; niece, Charlotte Watson of Gainesville, GA. MOORE, WILLIAM DYRIS - age 67 of 702 West 4th Avenue, Lenoir City passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at his home. Dyris was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force with 20 years of service. Dyris was preceded in death by his father, William Martin Moore; brother, Johnny Hatley, Jr.; sister, Sharon Hatley Wolfe; and nephew, Steve D. Moore. Survivors: daughter and son in law, Brenda and James R. Thomas of Lenoir City; mother, Ruby Ritchey of Lenoir City; granddaughter and grandson in law, Ashley and Jeremy Lane of Clinton; grandson, Ryan Wade of Solway; mother of his daughter and caregiver, Bobbye Moore of Lenoir City; sisters and brothers in law, Marlene and Jack McNabb of Arlington, TX, Linda and Allen Watson of Loudon; brothers and sisters in law, Curtis and Edna Moore, James and Judy Hatley, Ernest and Jean Hatley, Charles and Janice Hatley all of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Seay officiating. Full military honors will be conferred by the US Air Force. NABORS, JANET STEWART "MAMAW" - age 78, a longtime resident of the Ball Camp Community, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2001. Mamaw departed this life to be received into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and the long awaiting arms of her husband, LaRoy and son, John. Mamaw loved doing for her family and others. Known for her cooking, she was employed by several restaurants in the Knoxville area. Mamaw will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her. She is preceded in death by husband, LaRoy Nabors; son, John; parents, David and Freddie Stewart; sisters, Freddie Cook and Helen Long. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Shannon and Beverly Nabors of Kingston, TN, Dennis "Buster" and Connie Nabors of Lenoir City, Wayne and Barbara Jo "B.J." Nabors, Jack and Beverly Nabors; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Joe Helton, Alice and Riley Williams, Kay and Bill Hooks, all of Knoxville; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, David and Jimmy Stewart; sisters, Betty Jane House and Merle Liles, all of Birmingham, Alabama. OWEN, MR. JAMES B., (J.B.) - age 85, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2001, at his home. Mr. Owen was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville, the Tennessee Ornithological Society, Knoxville Gem and Mineral Society and Mended Hearts. He retired from the Knoxville News-Sentinel, but continued to work for the newspaper. He wrote the, "For The Birds" column for the Knoxville Journal in the 1960's and currently "The Nature Scrapbook" for the Knoxville News Sentinel. Survivors: wife, Frances C. Owen of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ben Holbert of Savannah, Tenn.; son-in-law and wife, George and Fay Danker of Knoxville; grandchildren, Beth Holbert of Savannah, Tenn., and Nathan and Crystal Danker of Knoxville; sister, Myrtle Hazlewood of Humbolt, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Dr. David Hull and Rev. Dave Ward officiating. Interment icon will follow at Tennessee Veterans cemetery. HILLARD, ROBERT FRANKLIN - age 76, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a logger/tree cutter by trade. He served in World War II. Survived by wife, Ermalee Oaks Hillard; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Debbie Hillard, and Johnny Curry Hillard; grandchildren, Janafay, Amanda, Mike and Bradley Hillard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Alice Hillard, and Gene and Betty Hillard; sisters and brother-in-law, Rosalee and Joe Proietti, Martha Jones, and Mable Cardwell; devoted friend, Bob Lawson; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Cedar Grove cemetery 11 a.m. Wednesday for a graveside service, Rev. Bill Settles officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. PERKINS, CHARLES ROBERT, SR. "PERKY" - age 68 of Knoxville, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky. early Monday morning Feb. 5, 2001 following a short illness. He will be greatly missed. He was of the Baptist faith. Scrub technician at Louisville General Hospital for over 20 years. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Preceded in death by daughter, Sherry Elaine Perkins; parents, Earl & Durcilla Perkins. Survived by wife, Christine Perkins; daughters, Karen and Connie Perkins; son and daughter in law, Charles, Jr. "Chuck" & Alice Perkins; grandchildren, Tina Lowe, Sandra Sengson, Jennifer Burkhalter, Stacey Perkins, Charles Perkins, III "Robbie"; great grandchildren, Stephanie Buckner, Jake Lowe, Jennifer Lowe, Alex Buckner, Brent Burkhalter, Dylan Burkhalter, Jessica Burkhalter, Whitney Perkins, Adrian Williams, Elaina Perkins. PERKINS, ISABEL KIRKLAND - age 92, of Loudon, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Loudon Healthcare Center. Member of Loudon First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, William Madison and Florence Millsaps Kirkland; husband, Roy Leo Perkins; brothers, Anderson, Ernest and Fabor Kirkland; sister, Cora Livesay; infant sister and two infant half brothers. Survivors include, daughter, Betty Rayburn; grandchildren, Bobby Bishop and Shannon Bishop, all of Loudon; brothers, Oscar Kirkland, Lenoir City, Lloyd, Referd and Freeman Kirkland, all of Loudon, Walter Kirkland, Knoxville. Funeral service 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, at McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Curt Franklin officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Thursday, February 8, in Riverview cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.

QUEENER, CARRIE H. - 93 passed on to heaven at St. Mary's Hospital at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 5th. She had been a resident of Hillcrest South Nursing Home for the past 15 months. Carrie was the widow of John E. Queener, who once owned Consolidated Delivery Co. Carrie was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church for the past 45 years. She lived most of her adult life in Chilhowee Hills. She had a loving and kind spirit, and was especially fond of small children. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Dana Hatmaker. Surviving her is son, Richard E. Queener; brothers, Edward Hatmaker of Calif., Carl Hatmaker of Knoxville, William Hatmaker of Chicago, Ill., Wayne Hatmaker of Soddy, Tenn., and James Hatmaker of Egan, Tenn. Carrie had many devoted nieces and nephews. Memorial services to be held at Eastminister Presbyterian Church 4900 Ashville Highway at 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 11th. In lieu of flowers make donations to Eastminister Presbyterian Church. Ashes will be privately interred at Jacksboro cemetery, Jacksboro, Tenn.

RODGERS, ANNA LOUISE CONNOR - was born November 22, 1910, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her late parents, Minnie Cornelius Connor and James Connor moved with Anna to Knoxville, Tenn., in the early 1920's. The family settled on Whittaker Street in the west Knoxville area then known as Bearden or "The Brickyard". There, Anna met and married Jackson Rodgers. The two were loving life partners until he passed on in 1986. Anna Rodgers brought joy into the lives of people everywhere she went especially at Wallace Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church of which her parents were two of the founders. Anna was a devoted and active member for more than 65 years. She sang in the choir, served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and usher. She planned holiday programs, dyed Easter eggs and made hundreds of sandwiches, cookies and bread puddings to feed the children of the neighborhood surrounding the church. She was "Mama Rodgers" to many. Anna moved from The Golden Age Apartments on Beaman Lake Road to Norwalk, Connecticut in 1993 to live with her eldest daughter. She passed away there at Norwalk General Hospital on February 2, 2001, of pneumonia. She is survived by two loving and devoted daughters, Sylvia Rodgers Kelly Robeson of Norwalk, CT, Barbara Rodgers of San Francisco, CA; son-in-law, C.B. Robeson of Norwalk; three granddaughters, Laverna McDonald, Korbi and Celina Kelly of Norwalk; two grandsons, Rodney McDonald of Norwalk, Billy Makedonsky of San Deigo, CA; daughter-in-law, Winfred Rodgers of Fairfield, NJ; an aunt who was like a sister, Mildred Conner Morey of Detroit, MI; a host of other relatives and loving friends. She was especially close to her pastor at Wallace Chapel, Rev. Churchill Moore. The family will receive friends at Jarnigan's Mortuary on Thursday, February 8, 2001, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Wallace Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 5103 Homberg Drive, Knoxville, on Friday, February 9, 2001, 11 a.m. with interment icon immediately following at Highland Memorial cemetery. Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, in charge.

Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Frankie Harris; son, James Rogers; husband, Raymond Rogers; brothers, Garfield Millsaps, Alfred Millsaps, Archie Milsaps, Floyd Harris and Claude Harris; sisters, Bess Myers and Bertha Hawkins. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Survivors: sons and daughters in law, Roy and Linda Rogers of Athens, Stephen and Joan Rogers of Tellico Plains; daughters and sons in law, Wanda and Herman Merideth, of Powell, Helen and Ross Stephens of Tellico Plains; brother, Zeb Millsaps, of Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services 8 p.m. Wednesday in Myers Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Walker and Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. She was a native of Wehutty, NC and resident of Blount Co. most of her life and had resided in Polk Co. for 1 year. Daughter of the late Dewey and Aretta "Shorty" Bivens Simonds. SHARPE, WILLIAM JOHN "BILL" - age 70, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center, after a brief illness. Mr. Sharpe was born February 17, 1930, in Knoxville, Tenn., and was of the Catholic faith. He graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School in 1949 and was a Korean War Veteran. He was later a longtime Manager of The Big Orange Package Store. Preceded in death by wife of 41 years, Clara Rule Sharpe; parents, Annie Regina Dunn Sharpe and Samuel Jarnigan Sharpe; sisters, Mrs. James Bascom (Elizabeth) Woolsey, Mrs. Patrick James (Bedo) Heagerty, Marie Louise Sharpe Kinnane; brothers, Samuel Jarnigan Sharpe, Jr. and Harris Alfred Sharpe. Survivors: sons, William Mark and Jon Barton Sharpe; granddaughter, Loren Marie Sharpe; sister, Mr. George (Margaret) Vestal; brother, Gregory D. Sharpe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Rick Walsh and Father Xavier Mankel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery.
