Survived by her husband of 60 years, Lynn B. Clark; sons, Jack Livesay and wife, Camille of Oak Ridge, Gary Clark and wife, Terry of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Lynda Aguirre of Oak Ridge; special nieces, Betty Bowers Campbell of Knoxville and Elaine Bruner of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren she loved as her own, Debbie and Jeff Denton, Richard Burns, Michael and Lee Burns, Susie Foust, Mark and Marsha Livesay, Gavin and Brandon Clark, Tracy and Sujet Chemluerkar; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jeffery Denton, Nicole and Brad Foust, Rachael and Kristin Livesay, and Brittany Burns; several cousins and special friends, Frances King and Barbara Harrison. Funeral services are Thursday, February 15, 2001, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Charles Mattson officiating. Graveside services are Friday, February 16, at 1 p.m., at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

COWAN, MRS. JACQUELINE - of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at home. She was the daughter of Mrs. Helen Ashe. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.

DeGRAND, ELIZABETH (BILLIE) SUE - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001, at Park West Hospital. She was born March 6, 1918 in Struthers, Ohio. She came to East Tennessee in 1941, to work for T.V.A. She was a homemaker and a volunteer. She had been a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. The Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and more recently was a member of Westside Unitarian Universalist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ralph DeGrand and two sons, Tom DeGrand of Boulder, Colo. and David DeGrand of Worchester, Maine, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request, memorials be made to the charity of your choice. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, in charge.

EDWARDS, MRS. JANICE ORAN - age 67, of Bowers Road, Harriman, passed away Monday, February 12, 2001, in Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital, Knoxville. She was retired from the Accounting Department of ALS Chemical, Atlanta, Georgia, a member of the Central Church of Christ, Harriman. Preceded in death by father, John Oran; son, Kirk Edwards. Survived by husband, Browder Edwards of Harriman; son, Craig Edwards of Harriman; granddaughter, Brittany Edwards of Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters, Betty Oran Pack, Robyn Oran Branam, both of Harriman, and Paula Oran Hall of Marietta, Georgia; mother, Charlsye Oran of Harriman. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Bro. Charles Brown officiating. Interment icon will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ, Harriman, Tenn. Evans Mortuary, of Rockwood, is serving the family of Mrs. Janice Oran Edwards.

ELLIOTT, WILLIAM B. "BILL" - age 72, of Powell, passed away Monday, February 12, 2001, at Mariner Health Center. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Elliott was a retired dispatcher from KUB. Preceded in death by parents, William B. and Mamie Marshall Elliott. Survivors include wife, Jean Bertram Elliott; children, William Alan Elliott of Rugby, K. Elain Crumley and husband Tim of Knoxville, Robert Bruce Elliott and wife Betty of Knoxville; sister, Niota Eggers and husband Bob of Unicoi; special cousin, Charles Francis; special friend, Curley Dye of Pennington Gap, Virginia, and all his friends at Wa-Ni Village and Fountain City Park. Family and friends will assemble 2 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2001, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for graveside service and interment icon with Rev. Clarence Byrd officiating. FELTON, LILY CLAIRE - infant daughter of John and Johnna Felton, died Monday, February 12, 2001, at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. She is also survived by her sisters, Hannah Gayle and Kate Lauren; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Comer, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holt, and Mr. and Mrs. J. William Felton III; great-grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Miller; aunts and uncles, Kellee and Tony Lively, Mendee and Wally Hopper, Kathy and Denny Trousdale, and Karen Felton; cousins, Austin, Hunter, and Madison Lively, Mary Lennox and Addie Grace Hopper. Friends may visit at the home Wednesday afternoon. There will be a private graveside service with the very Rev. John C. Ross officiating. GIVENS, DAVID JONATHAN - age 38, of Pikeville, Tenn., formerly of Knoxville, departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, February 12, 2001. Preceded in death by dad, Paul E. Givens. He is survived by loving mother, Betty Givens of Pikeville, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Givens, Debbie and Ron Newman, Carol Wallace of Knoxville, and Diana and Ron Byrd of Dunlap, Tenn., and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends. HELTON, ALMA ELIZABETH WARD - age 90, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2001, at Baptist Hospital. She was born May 6, 1910, in Sevier County, Tenn. She was a member of Arrowhead Church of God of Prophecy, Knoxville. Preceded in death by husband, Clifford Helton; daughters, Shelby Jean Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Brookshire; grandson, Gregory Gibson. Survivors: daughter, Virginia "Tootsie" Gibson and husband, Robert of Seymour; sons-in-law, Jim Anderson of Knoxville, and Howard Brookshire of Daleville, Ala.; loving friend, Ira "Red" Houser; grandchildren, Steven Gibson, Tinka Gibson, Connie Whitted, Pandy Surrette and Carolyn Day, all of Seymour, Janice Covington, Carl Anderson of Knoxville, Howard Brookshire, Jr., Bryan Scott Brookshire, and Terina Brookshire of Daleville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Derrick and Dustin Gibson, Cheyenne and Casey Surrette, Ryan, Kyan and Joshua King, Michael Whitted, Timothy Brookshire, Destiny and Lindsay Day, Haven and Braden Anderson; several nieces and nephews. HOWARD, DEXTER E. "DEX" - age 77, of New Bern, N.C., passed away Tuesday morning, February 13, 2001, at home. Born in New York City and raised in LA, he worked his way back across the nation to New York as a teenager. With the outbreak of war in 1941, Dex volunteered for the Army Air Corp., where he had a distinguished wartime career as the pilot of a dangerous low-level bomber/strafer over axis occupied Europe. When the war in Europe was won, he volunteered to go to the Pacific Theater as a fighter pilot. After the war, Dex was asked to train to fly the first generation of military jets. When the jet program was postponed, he left the military to return to civilian life in LA, landing a job at Paramount Pictures, where he met his first wife, Jeanne. Always fascinated with automobiles, Dex decided to try auto sales. After seven years of sales and management at Downtown Ford in LA, he became a partner in Greensboro Ford and bought out his partner over the next five years. He later owned Ford, Pontiac, BMW, AMC, and International truck dealerships in Durham, N.C. and Knoxville, Tenn. In addition to his automotive interests, Dex owned the New York Yankees farm team in Greensboro, was an avid golfer and an accomplished pianist. He also was an avid supporter and contributor to many various charities and organizations. Dex is survived by sons, Randall Howard of Atlanta, Ga., Brandon Howard of Scottsdale, Ariz., Andrew Howard and Sanford Howard, both of New Bern, and daughter, Candice Chapman of Hendersonville, N.C.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and second wife, Glenda Howard of Raleigh. The family will receive friends at Cotton Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Garber United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeffery Severt officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn cemetery in Greensboro, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Craven County Unit, Memorial Chairman, PO Box 12805, New Bern, N.C. 28561, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, PO Box 32298, Raleigh, NC 27622. HURST, RALPH M. - age 71, of Northeast Knox Co., passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001, at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from General Motors in 1985 with 30 years service. Active with the UAW Retirees and a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Dellro and Jennie Cox Hurst; brothers, Billy Joe and Lonnie Hurst, and sister, Mary Louise Sands. Survivors: wife, Evelyn Brown Hurst; daughter, Linda Olson; son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Wilda Hurst; granddaughter and husband, Amanda and Timothy Anderson; great-grandson, Marcus Anderson; sisters, Rosalie Burrell, Dorothy Wolfenbarger, and Barbara Ellis; brothers, Floyd, Donald E., Haril, Boyd, and James Hurst. JACKSON, MRS. JULIA D. - age 95, of Knoxville, departed this life Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at Brakebill Nursing Home. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Preceded in death by beloved son, David R. Davis. Survived by devoted granddaughter, Davene Davis (George) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Dawnita J. Wilson of Texas, and Dow Darnese Wilson; devoted nieces and nephews to include Margaret Gaines, David Jr., Donald (Francis) Richie, and Janice Griffin, and a host of great nieces and nephews to include Kathy Tate and family. The family will receive friends 1:30-2 p.m. Thursday at Jarnigan's Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., Rev. M. M. Solomon officiating. JONES, VIRGINIA ANDERSON - age 91, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday evening, February 11, 2001, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home in Canton, N.C. She was the widow of John Thomas "Pete" Jones, Jr. Preceded in death by brother, Raymond Charles Jones. She was a member of First Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. "Tom" and Lynda C. Jones of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Jacque H. Jones of Cooleville, Ohio; granddaughter and grandsons-in-law, Dayne and Jeff Thomas of Parkersburg, W. Va., Jennie and Jimmy Niccum of Fayetteville, Ark., and Amy Jones and Andrew Adkisson of Louisville, Tenn.; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Thomas; great-grandson, Mason Robert Niccum; sister, Mrs. Clara Mae Lasseter of Canton, N.C.; two nieces, Celeste Buckner of Knoxville and Joan Paradls of Nashville. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Lynnhurst cemetery for graveside service at 2 p.m., Pastor Ronald R. Pickell officiating. The family will receive friends 12 Noon - 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.

LIVELY, AMON - age 84, born in Oliver Springs, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2001. He was a retired employee of the Norton Company and member of Calvary Wesleyan Church, both in Ohio. Survived by wife, Viola E. Jinks Lively; son and daughter-in-law, Wilfred Charles and Nancy Lively; daughter, Helen Marie Kelley of Barberton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Willis Calvin Lively, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home and proceed to Greenwood cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. MAHAN, MAMIE KIDWELL - age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. Preceded in death by children, Paul, Linda, and Danny Mahan. Survived by husband, Harold Mahan; son and daughter-in-law, David and Vickie Mahan; grandchildren, Shawn Mahan and Shannon Owens; brothers, Lon Kidwell of Ransco Hill. McAULEY, MRS. TINA MARIE-WILSON - age 37, of Knoxville, formerly of Maynardville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Milan Baptist Church. Tina will be missed and loved by all who knew her, and according to her boys, "Mommie has gone to heaven to be an angel". She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Nona Wilson and Riley and Lillie Ward. She leaves behind her husband, Ben F. McAuley, Jr., and three sons, Dakota West Collins, age 16, Ben F. McAuley, III, age 7 and Wilson Kreigh McAuley, age 6; parents, Archie and Shirley Wilson of Maynardville; brother, Archie W. Wilson, Jr. of Maynardville; sister, Shawna June Munsey of Washburn, and special brother-in-law, Mark Munsey; special nieces, Kendra and Makenzie, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m., Tuesday in Ailor's Chapel with Rev. Ralph Cox and Rev. Billy Dunsmore officiating. Interment icon will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood cemetery, Knoxville. McMAHAN, AGNES VASEY - age 93, of Knoxville, passed away at Holston Heath Care Center Monday, February 12, 2001. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jane Ann Vasey; husband, Ben H. McMahan, and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. McMahan is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty M. and Bill Hood of Knoxville, Nancy M. and Uriel Jones of Illinois, and Shirley M. Wells of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, Mark J. Hood, Lisa Hood Skinner and her husband Steve, Scott Hood and his wife Karen, Mitch Jones and his wife Sheila, Keith Jones and his wife Shelly, Kelly Frankel, Kurt Wells, and Grant Wells and his wife Karla; seven great-grandchildren, Noelle, Molly and Andrew Hood, Jamie and Ben Jones, Kimberly Ann Frankel, and Ashley Wells. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Mike Bundren officiating. Family will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, 9:30 a.m. Friday for private family interment icon at 10 a.m. in Lynnhurst cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family wishes to express their thanks to the nurses and caregivers of Holston Health Care Center for their loving care of Agnes during her illness. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
