Boyack, Sr.; son, Richard Boyack, and brother, Walter F. Kireger, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Patricia Davenport and her children, Douglas Richard and Jennifer Davenport and Elizabeth Anderson; son, Arthur J. Boyack, Jr. and his children, Michelle Quirk and April Boyack; two great-grandchildren, Danielle Quirk and Alex Concannon, and sister, Mary Agness Kubasiak, also survive Mrs. Boyack. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 15, 2001, at McCarty Evergreen Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Interment icon will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's cemetery in River Grove,Ill. COWAN, JACQUELINE A. KENNEDY - age 52, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at her home, after a lengthy struggle with diabetes and other complications. She graduated from East High School, attended the University of Tennessee, majoring in Psychology, and she was formerly employed by the City of Knoxville. She leaves to mourn her passing, father, James O. Kennedy, very devoted and loving mother, Helen Ashe; sons, Stanley II, Sean, Willis and Jacoby; daughter, Katenya; grandson, Zacary; half sister, Marilyn; half brothers, James O. Jr. and Michael; devoted aunt and uncle, Leon and Ellen; great aunts, Eva Patterson of Knoxville, and Mary Liddell of Washington, D.C., and several other relatives to include a very devoted cousin of Maryland. The family will receive friends 12:30-1 p.m. Friday at Jarnigan's Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., Rev. John Silver officiating. Interment icon in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. D'INNOCENZO, HELEN - age 67, of Knoxville passed away February 14, 2001 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl Corda. Survived by husband, Vincent of Knoxville; sons & daughter in law, Mark & Nanette Jackson of Iron Mt., Mich. and James D'Innocenzo of Greenville, SC; daughters & son in law, Susan Schwarten of Knoxville, Gina Jackson of Ormond, Fla., and Tammie Joann & Steve Whitfield of Knoxville; grandchildren, Alicia, Kyla, Sammantha, Stephanie, and Jake; mother, Ann Corda of Ironwood, Mich.; brothers & sister in law, Thomas Corda of Bruce Crossing, Mich. and Earl & Joyce Corda of Rantoul, Ill., Donna Pannasso of Cheboygan, Mich., Jo Ann Von-Der-Osten of Maryester, Fla., Geri & Bernard Rosan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Karen Morzenti, Ashland, Wis. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she would do anything for them. We will miss her, but we know that we will all be together again someday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. DEATHERAGE, GLENDEN F. - age 80, of Fountain City, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Fountain City. A lifetime member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, International, serving as an officer in the local chapter as well as the Volunteer State Association, where he served as Treasurer for 20 years. He worked in the refrigeration business and was Owner and Operator of Store Specialty Sales, and taught refrigeration and air conditioning at Central High School for 10 years. World War II Veteran, serving 35 months as Staff Sergeant in Africa and Europe, in the Signal Corp. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Deatherage; brothers, Alvin and Herman Deatherage; sisters, Wilma Deatherage Slagle, Helen Deatherage Northern. Survived by wife of 59 years, Dorothy Cochran Deatherage; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and William A. Waldrip of Rockford, Karen and Michael Lane of Maryville; daughter, Glenda Faye Deatherage of Greenville, Tenn.; grandsons, Jeffrey Lane and Brandon Waldrip; step granddaughter, Alyson Lane; sister, Wannafae Deatherage Vlachos of Franklin, Tenn.; nieces, Christine Slagle Bradford and Kathy Deatherage Rivera; nephews, James T. Northern and Earl Deatherage; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday, First Baptist Church of Fountain City, Rev. Charles Craig officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Friday at Greenwood cemetery for a 3 p.m. interment. Military Honors will be provided by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. DeGRAND, ELIZABETH (BILLIE) SUE - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2001, at Park West Hospital. She was born March 6, 1918 in Struthers, Ohio. She came to East Tennessee in 1941, to work for T.V.A. She was a homemaker and a volunteer. She had been a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. The Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and more recently was a member of Westside Unitarian Universalist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ralph DeGrand and two sons, Tom DeGrand of Boulder, Colo. and David DeGrand of Worchester, Maine, and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request, memorials be made to the charity of your choice. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.

DUKES, MR. TED - age 71, of Luttrell, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at 7:15 p.m. at his home, after a lingering illness. He was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Mettie Dukes. Survivors include wife, Mattie Jones-Dukes; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Cindy Dukes of Memphis; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Don McRae of Luttrell; granddaughter, Jessica Dukes of Luttrell; grandson, Dylan McRae of Luttrell; step grandsons, Jason and Chyenne McRae; step great-grandson, Hunter McRae, all of Knoxville; brothers, Roy Dukes and Gene Dukes of Halls; sisters, Nalda Slaughter and Reba Herron of Galveston, Ind., Ilah Washam of Corryton, Judy Bailey and Brenda Pollard, both of Luttrell, Patty Henderson of Tompkinsville, Ky., and Freda Reed of Halls. EASTERLY, ANNA M. WALKER - born December 13, 1902, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at Briarcliff Healthcare Center. Member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in Knoxville, Tenn., having moved here at a young age. It was in Knoxville, where she met and married William Jess Easterly, who preceded her in death, November 4, 1994, after 67 years of marriage. Also preceded in death by their only son, William J. Easterly, Jr., who died in 1984. Survivors: daughter, Phyllis Davis of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Charles Knight of San Diego, Calif., Patricia and Robert Lucke of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Nancy and John Dunn of Knoxville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Jessie; grandsons, Charles Knight III, Richard William Knight, Gary Knight, Robby Lucke, George Lucke, David Lucke, Bill Easterly, Patrick Easterly, John Dunn, Jr., and Chris Dunn; 11 great-grandchildren including JR, and Jamie and Jordan Lucke of Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence & Melissa Stewart, Sr.; brothers, Lester Stewart and Clarence Stewart, Jr.; devoted husband, Willie James Harper, Sr.; very devoted children, Willie Jr. (Gloria) Harper, Charlotte (Johnny) Moore, William Harper, Stephanie (Anthony) Lenoir, Petrina Williams all of Knoxville, Charles Williams, Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Shirley (George) Gillispie, Cleveland, Ohio; brothers, Ralph Stewart, Palm Coast, Fla., and Larry (LaVern) Stewart; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, aunt, uncles, cousins, & many friends. JACKSON, MRS. JULIA D. - age 95, of Knoxville, departed this life Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at Brakebill Nursing Home. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Preceded in death by beloved son, David R. Davis. Survived by devoted granddaughter, Davene Davis (George) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Dawnita J. Wilson of Texas, and Dow Earnest Wilson; devoted nieces and nephews to include Margaret Gaines, David Jr., Donald (Francis) Richie, and Janice Griffin, and a host of great nieces and nephews to include Kathy Tate and family. The family will receive friends 1:30-2 p.m. Thursday at Jarnigan's Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., Rev. M. M. Solomon officiating. JOEL, EDITH S. - age 79, wife of Richard Joel, former head of the Department of Advertising, University of Tennessee, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2001, after a brief illness in Tallahassee, Fla. She was born in Sumter, S.C., and attended the Agnes Scott College and the University of South Carolina. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass., and a former member of Chapter T, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Knoxville. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her son, Richard R. Joel of Conyers, Ga.; her daughter, Madge J. Ringbakk of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; two grandsons, Jeremy Joel and Richard A. Ringbakk; a brother, Ramon Schwartz of Sumter, S.C. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee on Saturday, February 17, at 4:30 p.m.

JOHNSTON, BEN E. - age 81, of Knoxville, peacefully went to be with the Lord, in his bed at home, Wednesday morning February 14, 2001. Ben was born in Van Tassell, Wyo. and raised in South Dakota and Idaho. Sixty one years ago he married Norma Hope Barr, his high school sweet heart. He volunteered for service in the U.S. Army during WWII and received medals for meritorious unit, Asiatic Pacific service, Good Conduct and Victory. He learned construction in the mineshafts of Kellogg, Id. and started a home construction business that built over 1000 custom homes throughout the inland empire of eastern Washington State before he retired. In addition, he served as a Commissioner for Shoshone County, Id. And as manager for the water district in Pinehurst, Id. He was a Past Master and lifetime member of Rose Lake Masonic Lodge #89 in Cataldo, Id. and a life long member of the American Legion. He is preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, Oliver, and Robert; sisters, Mildred and Nellie. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Blaine A. Johnston of Tucson, Ariz. and Spokane, Wash., and a sister, Fay Warren of Spokane, Wash., as well as 2 children; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. The 1st generation includes his sons, Ben E. Johnston, Jr. and his wife, Mary Jo Marino of Knoxville, Tenn. and Reverend Allan R. Johnston and his wife, Judy of Selah, Wash. The 2nd generation includes grandsons, Ben E. Johnston, III of Polk City, IA, Brad Johnston of Astoria, Or., Julie Whitlock of Kingston, Wash., Michael Johnston of Auburn, Wash., David Johnston of Black Diamond, Wash., and Robert Johnston of Yakima, Wash. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans cemetery Friday for a 2 p.m. graveside service with Mary Lee Bergeron officiating. Military honors will be provided by Volunteer State Veterans' Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made tot the American Heart Assoc. East Tenn. Region, 4708 Papermill Dr. Knoxville, Tenn. 37909. His grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Family and friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

KILGORE, MRS. LULA PEARL - age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at the Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville. She was a member of the Lonsdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Kilgore was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn J. Kilgore; a granddaughter, Shirley Leann Bradley; sisters, Emily Rainey and Bert Price; one brother, Clarence Johnson. She is survived by one son, Hugh Kilgore and wife Darlene of Knoxville; one daughter, Hazel Bradley and husband John W. of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Bart Shawn Bradley and wife Wendie, Melissa King and husband Scott, and Hugh Kilgore II and wife Bonnie; four great-grandchildren, Emmalee Sierra Bradley, Trevor and Keely Bradley and Alex King. She is also survived by nieces and cousins and many other friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2001, at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the service to be conducted at 7 p.m., the Rev. Marc Sasser will officiate. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Highland Memorial cemetery. Family will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request, a gift may be given to the Norwood Baptist Church Building Fund. KIVETT, LLOYD G. - age 80, of New Market, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at U.T. Hospital. He was a member of Nances Grove Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Fielden Funeral Home, New Market.

LAWSON, MILDRED JANE - age 74 of Fountain City, passed away Wed. morning Feb. 14, 2001 Hillcrest West Nursing Home. Charter member of Arlington Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. French K. Lawson (founder of Norwood Clinic); and parents, Fred and Mildred Lusk of Knoxville. Survived by son and daughter, Gary and Debbie Lawson of Madison, Ala.; daughter and son in law, Vicki and Don Davis Knoxville; daughter and son in law, Mary Jo and Wally Houser of Knoxville; grandsons, Jonathan Davis, Travis Lawson and Beau Houser. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Dr. Thomas B. Drinnen officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10: 30 a.m. Saturday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel and proceed to Lynnhurst cemetery for graveside service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Tenn. LEONARD, ANNA MAE - age 76 of Lenoir City passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon February 13, 2001, at her home. Anna Mae was a member of First Baptist Church. She was retired from Yale and Towne. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Galyon. Survivors: husband, John K. Leonard; son and daughter in law, Edd and Nell Stalsworth of Lenoir City; step children, Johnny Lee and Ann Leonard, Shelby Jean Rose, Harold Leonard, Katherine Barlow, Harriet Ellis; several step grandchildren; sister, Nora Gladys Jones of Bremen, Ind.; nephews, Mike, Tom and Ted Jones. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating.
