TWEED, EARL ALLEN - of Oak Ridge, passed away February 25, 2001, at the Methodist Medical Center. Mr. Tweed was born December 7, 1919, in Marshall, N.C. A graduate of Maryville College, he retired from Union Carbide as a supervisor in the chemical plant K-25. Mr. Tweed was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church, the BPOE/Lodge #1684, and the Boat Club of Oak Ridge. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed ballroom dancing as well. Preceded in death by his parents, Chapel and Jessie Mary Tweed; his first wife, Dorothy Zinser Tweed; a daughter, Ruth Ann Tweed Eubanks; brothers, Ray Gibbs Tweed and Mark Glen Tweed, and sister, Gloria Tweed Spaugh. Survivors include wife, Glendora Johnson Tweed of Oak Ridge; son-in-law, Kenneth Eubanks and wife, Cindie of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Terri Eubanks Weiler and husband, Phil of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susie Eubanks Woods and husband, Greg of Dayton, Ohio, Gloria Eubanks of Columbus, Ohio, and Jason Stidham of Athens, Ohio; sisters, Louise Tweed Sanford of Laurinburg, N.C., and Doris Tweed Morgan and husband, Ray of Marshville, N.C., and several nieces and nephews; step daughter, Glenda Johnson of Kingston and a special friend, Ned Sams of Hershey, Penn. Funeral services will be Monday, February 26, 2001, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Michael Prince officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Phil Weiler, Greg Woods, Jason Stidham, Stephen Morgan, David Morgan and Noran Sandford. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.C. Price, W.T. Northcutt, Rhea Rector, Doyle Thomas, Jim Liafsha, Marvin Shanks, Ray Morgan, and George McGown. Memorials may be made to Robertsville Baptist Church, 251 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

WALKER, PAMELA MYERS JOHNSON - age 41, of Maryville, passed away Saturday evening, February 24, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Preceded in death by father, Robert D. Myers and sister, Sandra Myers Webb. Survivors: husband, Alan Walker; son, Bradley Doyle Johnson of Maryville; daughter, Cassie Johnson of Maryville; mother, Yvonne Murr Myers of Maryville; brothers, Robert Myers and Randall Myers, both of Maryville and Timothy Myers of Knoxville; sisters, Lisa Myers Vittetoe and Robin Myers, both of Maryville; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jewell McCollum officiating. Interment icon 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clark's Grove cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

WALLACE, OPAL STOOKSBURY - age 90, of Andersonville, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Mariner Health Care Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andersonville, where she was a former choir member and Sunday School Teacher. Born September 14, 1910, in Union County. Preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Myrtle Witt Stooksbury; sister, Lennie Stooksbury; brothers, James Stooksbury and Lowell Stooksbury. Survivors: Opal and her surviving husband, Walter Wallace celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this past June. Also surviving are daughter, Dana and husband, Gene Cash of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; grandson, Christopher Cash of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers, Conley and wife, Barbara Stooksbury of Norris, and Maurice and wife, Thelma Stooksbury of Norris; sister-in-law, Laura Robbie Stooksbury of Andersonville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001, at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Andersonville with Rev. Terry Moore and Rev. Charles Hobbs officiating. The interment icon will follow at Andersonville cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Andersonville, 3949 Andersonville Hwy., Andersonville, TN 37705. WHITE, BETTY JO - age 64, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001. She is survived by her husband, L. E. White; sons, DeWayne (Janet) White and Michael (Shelli) White; brothers, Robert Lee Jones and Frank Leon Jones; sister, Anna Lee Burchell; grandchildren, Patrick Jackson, Cory, Alex, Amber and Amanda White. Mrs. Whites' remains are at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Hendersonville, where services will be Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Sam Phillips officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex White and Patrick Jackson. Active Pallbearers will include Jim Ballard, Luther McDaniel, Kelly McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, Larry Alderman and Cory White. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment icon will be in Woodlawn East Memorial Park. WILKERSON, FLOYD - of Knoxville, departed this life Saturday, February 24, 2001, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.

WILKERSON, GERALDINE MURIEL - age 67, of Powell, and of late the Mariner Health Care of Norris, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center, at 3:05 a.m. She peacefully went to be with Jesus, whom she has loved since early childhood. She was born February 8, 1934, a precious daughter and sister. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar L. and Pearl Lewis Wilkerson; brother, Malcolm E. Wilkerson and nephew, Gerald W. Wilkerson. Geraldine was a longtime client of Sertoma Center and a member of the Special Ed Sunday School Class of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Geraldine dearly loved her family and home, and her devoted friends who were so dear to her. She especially loved and appreciated her many pets and cattle, even some wild animals and really all of Gods Creation. She was such an integral part of her family, the effects of her loss cannot be expressed or measured. "To know her was to love her." Survivors: sisters, Jeanette Wilkerson of Powell, Kathleen Cortner of Tullahoma; sister and brother-in-law, Lucile and Floyd Livingston of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Marybelle Wilkerson, and Glenn and Thelma Wilkerson of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. BAKER, JIMMIE LOUISE - 69 of Black Rock Knolls Rd. passed away Feb.24, 2001 in Fidelia Eckard Care Center. A native of Fulton County Ga. and the daughter of the late Bennie Wofford and Francis Louise Spinks Brown. She was a third grade Elementary School teacher and also taught GED classes in jails and developed other ministries in jails. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Homeless Council in Atlanta and read to children born with aids. She was a graduate of Tift College and was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church in Highland, NC and Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga. where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member. Surviving is her husband, of 50 years, Rudolph R. Baker, Jr.; one daughter, Laura Jean Baker Bowers of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, R. Richard Baker, III of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert B. Baker of Augusta, Ga.; her step mother, Edith W. Brown of Rosewell, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Stephens of Lynn Haven, Fla. and Alice Williams of Alpharetta, Ga.; six grandchildren also survive. Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday March 1, 2001 in Briarcliff United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga. with Dr. Randall Williamson, Dr. Herchel Sheets, Rev. Jack Bozeman and Bishop Lindsey Davis officiating. Burial will be in Westview cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stephens, John Williams, Rev. Richard Long, Andy Cash, Wilbur Peck, Ryan Sheffield, Jim Wesley and Rev. Steve Lyle. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 28, 2001 at A.S. Turner and Son Funeral Home in Decatur, Ga. BEATTY, MR. EDWARD (RON) - 56 of Ten Mile, Tenn. passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001. Preceded in death by parents, Harve and Marie (Galloway) Beatty. Survived by two sons, Jackie and Ronnie Beatty, both of Wayne, Mich.; two grandsons of Mich.; sisters, Beverly Clough of Harriman, Loretta and Jack Patton of Wayne, Mich., Sue and Lanty Walters of Wayne, Mich., Phyllis and Thurman Freels of Cornesville, Ga.; brothers, Alvin Beatty of Harriman, Bobby and Teen Beatty of Jackson, Ga.; several nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Feb. 27, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services 8 p.m. with Rev. Ron Nordan officiating. Graveside services Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Byrd cemetery.

BORSTELMANN, MARTHA - age 83, of Athens, passed away Monday, Feb.26, 2001. She was a member of Athens Lutheran Church. She and her late husband, Gerhard Borstelmann, Sr., owned and operated Borstelmann Grocery Store for over 40 years in New York City. Survivors: daughter, Linda Borstelmann of Athens; two sons, Gerhard Borstelmann, Jr. of Athens, and Harold Borstelmann of New York, N.Y.; sister, Hanalore Reinekirchen of Germany; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services 11 a.m. Thursday at U.S. National cemetery in Chattanooga. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, before the service at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home, in Athens, Tenn.

BOYD, DOTT LOUISE - age 93, of West Knoxville, died Saturday, February 24, 2001, at her home. She was born April 18, 1907, in Mounds, Ill. Dott was a charter member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She previously worked in Oak Ridge, during World War II. Prior to her husband Lee's death, they both traveled on many cruises through out the Caribbean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Boyd and her sister, Claudia Cole. Survivors: brother, William L. Boyd of Knoxville; niece, Kay Sue Hopkins of Madison, Wisc. and nephew, Thomas Cole of Knoxville; great nieces and nephews, Kelly Gistelli, Craig Hopkins, Edie Dahlgren, Caitlin Cole, Adrian and Mallory Bardet. Memorial service 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, the Rev. C. Alex Barron officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Great Hall.

BURDETTE, VIRGINIA - (Mrs. George), age 90, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Burdette was born in Maryville, Tenn., and was a former resident of Knoxville. She was the retired Director of the Tarleton Home for Children in Knoxville. She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville, and was affiliated with First Broad Street United Methodist Church, while she resided in Kingsport. She was also a member of the Progressive Education Organization, and was a supporter of the Cotty Cottage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hamilton and Sally Cress Eggers, and husband, George Burdette. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ford Quillen of Gate City, Va.; three granddaughters, Madre Forsha of Kingsport, Carter Brown of Johnson City, and Lenior McClung of Gate City, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Kristopher Forsha, Anna McClung, Matthew McClung, Connor Brown, and Patrick Brown; one brother, Len Eggers of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown. Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles T. Neal and Dr. Toombs H. Kay, Jr. officiating. The body will be taken to the Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Knoxville, where calling hours will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, with Dr. Toombs H. Kay, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial cemetery. CASE, BERTHA LUELLEN KELLER - age 92, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Sevier County Health Care Center, after a lingering illness. Preceded in death by husband, James H. Case, Sr.; son, James H. Case, Jr.; grandson, James H. Case, III. She was a member of Bell's Chapel Baptist Church for 57 years. Survivors: daughter, Marie Crowe of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Joyce Case of Sevierville, Bruce and Barbara Case of Decauter, Tenn., Bill and Eula Case and Glen and Pat Case, all of Seymour; daughters-in-law, Mayme Case of Seymour, Emily Case and June Fox, both of Sevierville; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Erwin Keller of Newport, Vic Keller of Parrotsville, and Bill Keller of California; sisters, Ethel Clark of Johnson City and Ruth Tenpenny of Murfreesboro. CHAMBERS, KATHERINE KERR - of Morristown, passed away Saturday Feb.24, 2001 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was born in Union City in west Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker Kerr. She graduated from Stephens' College in Columbia, Mo. She and Dr. Chambers were married in 1940. They moved to Morristown in 1942. She was active in First Baptist Church, the Ladies Reading Circle, and the Garden Club. She has made her residence at the Grand Court since 1992. Her husband, Sam died recently. The had two sons, David who is an Optometrist in Orlando and James Lee, Ph.D., who was a university teacher in Mo. Mrs. Chambers is survived by her son, David; his wife, Gene, and their son, Sam. She is also survived by the children of Dr. James, Nicholas and Kama. Linda Carpenter Chambers, the widow of Dr. James, is a very dear survivor. She also has one sister, Mrs. P.H. (Frances) Tritschler of Nashville, and her husband, Phil, as well as a brother in law, Dr. Joe Chambers and his wife, Emily of Rogersville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2001, at Mayes Mortuary will Rev. Danny Georges officiating. Interment icon will follow at Jarnagin cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the services. Mayes Mortuary is in charge.
