She was a member of Mill Baptist Church, Harriman. Preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Smith, and father and mother, Arthur and Bertie Jones. Survivors: son and daughter in law, Greg and Marlisa Smith, Harriman; grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Tiffany Smith and Brandon Smith, all of Harriman; brother and sister in law, Raymond and Wilma Jones, Caryville. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. The family will also receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Cross Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Garvin Walls and Rev. Sonny Harvey officiating. SMITH, WILLIE IRENE HARMON - age 85, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell Co. She was a member of Indiana Ave. Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Homer Lee Smith; father, William Harmon; mother, Carrie Harmon Meredith; sisters, Faye Retherford, Oral Alexander and Mary Ruby Meredith; brother, John Meredith and son-in-law, Dan Bowman. Survivors: sons, John E. Smith of Knoxville and Bobby Smith of LaFollette; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Bowman of Speedwell, Judy and Jack Molique of Knoxville, and Sandra Lee and Wayne Richardson of Jacksboro; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Tivis Meredith, Jr. of LaFollette; sister, Joie Ols of Chesteron, Ind.; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Tuesday, Indiana Ave. Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Wednesday, Fincastle cemetery. STAGGS, MYRAH C. - age 64, of Powell, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 25, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. A member of Sharon Baptist Church, Blue Lodge #45 F&AM and Eastern Star #85 in Jackson, Tenn. Survivors: wife, Judy Staggs and son, Billy Staggs and daughter, Faye Powell, all of Powell; grandchildren, Kalya and Johnathon Staggs and Christian Powell; mother, Wilma Staggs of Jackson, Tenn.; brother, Ronnie Staggs of Jackson, Tenn.; sister, Catherine Derryberry of Lonoke, Ark. Family and friends will meet at George A. Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Maple Springs cemetery in Jackson, Tenn. for a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Rev. James Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mynatt's.

WHITE, T.J. - age 66 of Rutledge, died Sunday February 25, 2001 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member and deacon of Clinchdale Baptist Church; He was retired from Berkline Corp. after 28 ½ years. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by parents, Sam & Hallie White. Survivors include: wife, Edna White; daughters & sons in law, Joan & Herb Coffey and Darlene & Ron Seals of Rutledge, Donna & Donnie Kitts of Bean Station; son and daughter in law, Jeff & Angie White of Bean Station; grandsons, Scott Coffey & wife Darlene, Justin Kitts & fiancee', Amanda Miller, Daniel White & Morgan Seals; granddaughters, Misti Smith and husband, Scott, Brandy Johnson, Shanna Coffey & fiancee', Scott Johnson & Candace White; great grandchildren, Kaylee Smith & Jasmine & Noah Coffey; sister, Laura Johnson of Rutledge and five special nieces, Linda, Brenda, Betty, Vickie & Peggy and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. at the Clinchdale Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Buell, Rev. Dwight Bull, and Rev. Glen Bruner officiating. Burial will be at Helton's cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Coffey, Justin Kitts, Scott Smith, Scott Johnson, Keith Diamond and Mike Conard. WHITTIER, EVAN A. - age 83 of Sevierville, died Sunday, February 25, 2001. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School in Fla., and was an Army-Air Corp veteran of WWII. Mr. Whittier retired from GTE with 42 years of service and from the St. Petersburg Times in Fla. He was a member of Loretta United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Whittier. Survivors: wife, Bertha Whittier; daughter, Victoria A. Whittier; son, James A. Whittier; brother, Basil Whittier; sister, Louise Heritage, Funeral service 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Greer officiating. Interment icon will follow in Middle Creek cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, Tenn.

WILKERSON, GERALDINE MURIEL - age 67, of Powell, and of late the Mariner Health Care of Norris, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center, at 3:05 a.m. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Greenwood cemetery 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for interment icon at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

WILSON, ARNOLD BILLY (JR.) - age 59 went to be with the Lord from Lake City Health Care Sunday Feb. 25, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Selma Wilson and brother H.G. Wilson. He was a member of First Apostolic Church and attended the Cerebral Palsy Center here in Knoxville. Survived by brothers and sisters in law, Arlie and Betty Wilson of Tellico Plains, Dean and Brenda Wilson, Gerald and Mary Wilson, Stan and Kathy Wilson all of Knoxville; brother, Ernest Wilson of Knoxville; sisters and brothers in law, Bertha and Art Duncan of Ky., Ruby and Denny Ledford, Del and Dick Boudreau, and Edith and Mayford Richmond all of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 12:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 28, 2001 at the First Apostolic Church with Rev. Billy McCool officiating and interment icon to follow in Highland Memorial cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the staff and nurses of the Lake City Health Care for all the love and kindness shown to our special brother. WILKERSON, FLOYD MARVIN - of Knoxville, Tenn., departed this life Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Ft. Sanders Park West Hospital. On February 23, 1937, Marvin was born to William Willkerson, Sr. and Thelma Springs Wilkerson in Dayton, Tenn. Rhea County. He had fifteen years of formal education and was a veteran of the US Army. After his tour of duty he worked at the Pikesville Correction Center in Pikesville, Tenn. On June 10, 1967 he united in marriage to Eunice Kincaid. In 1968 he moved to Oak Ridge, Tenn. where he worked for Lockheed Martin, retiring in 1995. He joined the Oak Valley Baptist Church in 1995 where he served as Director of the Worship Committee Ministry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 354 of Oak Ridge, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Nelson Wilkerson. Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Eunice K. Wilkerson. Other survivors include a step son, James Kincaid (Margie); grandchildren, Michael Kincaid, Atlanta, Ga., Yarrick Kincaid, Knoxville, Tenn., Yamon Kincaid, Knoxville, Tenn., Stephanie Kincaid, Washington, DC; a brother, William Wilkerson, Jr. (Jennie) of Great Falls, Mont.; brothers in law, Paul & (Maggie) White and Leroy White (Vera, deceased), Oak Ridge, Charles White (Maxine), Cleveland, Ohio, John White (Earnestine), Hartwell, Ga.; sisters in law, Fannie Mae Harper (Fess, deceased) and Margurite White (Clifford, deceased); cousins, Annie Angel (Edward, deceased) Dayton, Tenn., Lela Freeman (John), El Paso, TX, Eleanor Nichols (Calvin) Louisville, Ky., Connie Lusco (Eugene) Jacksonville, Fla., Sandy Warmack (Al), Detroit, Mich. and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends, Ft. Sanders West Rehabilitation Group; and very special friends, the Charles Vanosdale family of Knoxville, Tenn. ATCHLEY, DOROTHY N. - age 90, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2001, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She is a member of River View Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Dot Atchley and parents, Roscoe and Rachel Nelson; four sisters and one brother. Survivors include daughter, Brenda and husband Earl Whitson; grandson, Robbie Speer; great grandchildren, Laura and Ben Speer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McCarty Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove cemetery. BREWER, WILLIAM PAUL - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Baptist Hospital. He was born in Townsend, Tenn. Member and Deacon of Ramsey Heights Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Steward and Lillie Brewer and brother, Glen Brewer. Survivors include wife, Marie Brewer of Knoxville; children, Dalores Holmes and husband Norman of Aiken, S.C., William Paul (Buddy) Brewer Jr. and wife Susan of Riverbank, Calif., Ronnie Brewer and wife Brenda of Chattanooga, Tenn., David Brewer and wife Janice of Knoxville, and Carolyn Gervais and husband Gary of Knoxville; sisters, Margie Lee and Hubert White, Bernice and Wilford Boring, Ada Arden, Flo and Wayne Keller, and Helen Tipton; grandchildren, Kelly Cheslea, Susan Kelley, Rhonda Gordy, Alison Holmes, Elaine Holmes, David Brewer, Mark Brewer, Jeannie Smith, Anne Bell, Mary Brewer, Jonathan Brewer, Darren King, and Emily Acuff; 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. CASE, BERTHA LUELLEN KELLER - age 92, of Seymour, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Sevier County Health Care Center, after a lingering illness. CRAWFORD, RUTH LEE - left her earthly home, Monday, February 26, 2001, to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father. She was born May 12, 1919, in Anderson Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Crawford; parents, George and Tilda Lee; one special sister, Miss Jennie Lee; brothers, Paris and Howard "Mutt" Lee. Survivors: sister, Pearl Lyndon of Oak Ridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at Highland Memorial cemetery for a 10 a.m. graveside service, Dr. Terry Kirby officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews.
