She was a member of M C M Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tivis and Emma M. Ford Cupp; step mother, Flora Massey Cupp, and one infant brother. She is survived by her husband, James Day of New Tazewell, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Loy and Bonnie Day of Tazewell, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Jim Webb of Maryville, Tenn.; daughter, Danna Day of New Tazewell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Ricky and wife Indy Webb of Morehead, N.C., Suzanne and husband Stacey Anders, Stacie and husband Barry Reed, all of Tazewell, Tenn., Shelley and husband Scott Stooksbury of Knoxville; 3 great-grandchildren, Aaron and Gracie Reed, and Jonah Stooksbury, twins expected by Suzanne and Stacey Anders in June 2001; sisters, Goldie Hunsucker, Inez Keck, Georgia Rolen, Christine Russell, and Susie Hubbard; brothers, Beech, Fred and Glenn Cupp, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Rev. Dallas Harrell and Rev. Tommy Russell officiating. Music by the Liberty Quartet. Burial in the Fairview cemetery. Coffey Funeral Home, in charge.

DIXON, STEVE G. - age 41, of Grand Lane, Dandridge, Tenn., passed away suddenly Monday, February 26, 2001, at home. Steve served as a Vice-President of the Trust Department for First Tennessee Bank of Knoxville, and was an avid golfer and gardener. Survivors: father and mother, William Glenn Dixon and Nan Wright Dixon of Turkey, N.C.; brother, Gregory Bryan Dixon of Raleigh, N.C.; grandmother, Louise O'Quinn Wright; niece, Jacqueline Riley Dixon; nephew, Gregory Cole Dixon. Funeral services Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Dandridge, with Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Interment icon graveside services Friday, 11 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton, N.C. In lieu of flowers, and due to the body being returned to Clinton, N.C., the family request memorial gifts be made to the Knoxville Zoo, Steve Dixon Memorial Fund, Attn: Judy, P.O. ELLIS, JOHNNYE SUE JONES - age 66, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Loudon, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. Preceded in death by parents, William Ernest "Humpy" and Clara Chaney Jones, and a sister, Annie Rae Veal. Survivors include son, Greg Ellis and daughter, Candy Ellis, and special friend, Charlie Harbin, all of Huntsville; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FOX, GLEN - age 82, of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., formerly of Cocke County, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001, at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee in Knoxville. He is survived by his beloved son, Steve E. Fox and daughter, Glennita Fox. Rawlings Funeral Home, is in charge of the arrangements.

HALL, JOHN H. - age 79, of North Knoxville, passed away 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at NHC of Knoxville. He was a member of Gillespie Avenue Baptist Church. Retired from John Beretta Tile Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by parents, John Hall and Dixie Belle Hall Pierce; sisters, Lois Parsons and Doris Fallon. Survivors: wife, Jean Bates Hall of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Rosa and Chris Linville of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughter, Kathy Callahan of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jeanie and husband, Andy Harvey of Chattanooga, Tenn., Amy and husband, Mike Sliger of Maryville, John David Linville of Chattanooga, Tenn., Anna Laura Callahan of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Seth Sliger of Maryville and Bryce Harvey of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister, Judy McGill; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Mayford Galyon; several nieces and nephews. HAMMOCK, JACKSON LEE "JACK" - age 61, of Norris, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, after being in receding health for several years. He was of the Baptist faith. Jack was born May 25, 1939, in Anderson County. Preceded in death by father, Rev. Clarence Hammock. Survivors: wife, Ann Chilton Hammock of Norris; daughters, Gail Cunningham and husband Randy of Halls, Pamela Harmon and husband Joe of Andersonville, and Sherry Stooksbury and husband Gerald of Andersonville; mother, Jean Hammock of Clinton; grandchildren, Jodi and Callie Harmon and Mallory Stooksbury, all of Andersonville; brother, Robert A. Dallas was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, a former Deputy of Loudon Co., and retired Supervisor of Maremont Corp. He was preceded in death by parents, Homer and Harriett Dawn Hart; sister, Gladys Hart, and brother, Alvin Hart. HELTON, EMERY RAY "HEN" - age 36, of Maynardville, passed away suddenly, Saturday, February 24, 2001, due to injuries received in an automobile accident. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church on Tater Valley Road in Luttrell, and was a dedicated employee of Plasti-Line Co. for 17 years. Preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Jenny Kelley, and Frank Helton; uncles, J.B. Kelley and Jerry Wayne Helton; aunts, Bessie Golberman and Brenda Kay Postrick, and special aunt, Geraldine Kelley. HIGGINS, JANE BLAIR "DANA" WEBB - of Athens, passed away Monday afternoon, February 26, 2001, at Wellington Place of Athens. A native of Bradley County, she was the daughter of the late B. M. and Jane Blair Webb and was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Webb Knox. She attended Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Va., and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. She and her husband moved to Athens in 1946. During her years in Athens, she has given of herself in many ways in support of community projects, the church, the local college, as well as other agencies and worthwhile events. She worked with Contact for many years as well as supported and worked with the Meal's on Wheels program. She has been an active member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church and served on the Administrative Board. She was honored by Keith Church as "Woman of the Year" in 1982, and "Woman of Distinction" in 1983. In recognition of her outstanding leadership, Keith Church has honored her by naming one of its Women's Guild's "The Dana Higgins Circle". She has also received other community awards which include the "Dick Dyer" award for her contribution to the United Way Program and the "Mary Mildred Sullivan" award sponsored by Tennessee Wesleyan College. In 1987, she received the "Mother of the Year" award presented by the Athens Chamber of Commerce. In October of 1994, she received the "Vivid" award presented by the Athens City Council for recognition of her volunteer service in the community. Surviving is her husband, Kenneth D. Higgins of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Jane Webb Higgins and Robert L. Elliott, of Lexington, Ky.; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth D., Jr. and Cathy Prescott Higgins of Athens; two granddaughters, Lloyd Blair Elliott Clark and her husband, Richard A. Clark and Holly Elizabeth Higgins. Jerry Smith Funeral Home, Athens, in charge.

HODGE, LOUISE MAPLES - age 73, of Rutledge, passed away with God, Tuesday morning February 27, 2001. Louise was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a retired employee of Citizens Bank. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, W.C. (Bill) and Maude Maples, her sister, Mary Morgan and her husband Hurdle Hodge. Louise is survived by her sister, Ruby Maples; children; Jimmy Hodge, Darlene Farmer and Roger Hodge; grandchildren, Jennifer Maden, Jim Hodge, Shantel Hodge and Kendall Farmer; nieces and nephews, Jeannie Hopper and Johnny Morgan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2001, at 8 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kerry Bond officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Grainger Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. HUTCHISON, RUTH WARWICK - age 77, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 26, 2001, at 2:15 p.m. from St. Mary's Medical Center. A member of Emory Valley Baptist Church and special friend to Third Baptist Church. Preceded in death by loving husband, James Everette Hutchison, the special people who raised her, J. E. and Kate Violette. Survived by sister, Vaunee Fortner Thomas; sister-in-law, Juanita Hutchison; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special friend, Ruby Byrge. A special thanks to Dr. Fred Hurst and staff, Dr. Bill Campbell of St. Mary's Emergency Department and staff, and Rural Metro Ambulance Service for their kindness. Jerry was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Louise Walker, Amos and Elsie Johnson. Survived by his parents, Howard (Bob) and Martha (Marty) Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Chris Witt; nieces, Christie and Jennifer Witt; nephew, Christopher Witt II, all of Loudon; several aunts and uncles of Ohio and Tennessee. McINTOSH, LYDIA S. - age 89, of Lake Carroll, Ill., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at his home. He was born August 21, 1911, in Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, James and Pearl Osborne Cash, husband, Frank McIntosh, one daughter, Anne Marie Compton, one grandson, Richard Collins, and nine brothers and sisters. She attended the Shannon Baptist Church in Shannon, Ill. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Carpenterville, Ill. She enjoyed being with family and friends. The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon, Ill. Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2001, at Shannon Baptist Church in Shannon, Ill., Pastor David Wood officiated. Burial was in Lanark cemetery, Lanark, Ill. Survivors include sons, Frank McIntosh of Lake Carroll, Ill. and Thomas McIntosh of Knoxville, and daughter, Mildred (Max) South of Byron, Ill.; sister, Christine Hickman of Knoxville; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established. Hermann Funeral Home, Shannon Illinois, in charge.
