Former owner of Creech Coal Company and former West Knoxville Real Estate Broker. Preceded in death by parents, John William, Sr. and Edith V. Creech. DENMARK, PEARL WARWICK - born in Anderson County on July 29, 1909, died Feb. 28, 2001 in St. Paul, Minn., her home since 1964. Member of Peace Church and life member of V.F.W. She worked in tailoring for over 40 years. Preceded in death by husband, Henry Denmark; brothers, Clarence and Henry; infant sister; sister, Alma Melton; friend, Charles Roos. Survived by daughter, Grace and son in law, Donald Reeve; granddaughter, Delores (Steve) Priester; grandson, David Reeve, all of St. Paul, Minn. Also survived by great grandson, B.J. (Rachel) Priester of Washington, D.C.; brother, P.A. DAVENPORT, CALLIE HAZEL - 71, of Seymour, passed away suddenly on Fri. Mar. 2, 2001. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Gladys Cogdill; and her husband, Roy Andrew Davenport, Sr. She is survived by her loving family, son, Roy Davenport, Jr. and wife, Susan; their children, Roy III, Lara, and Robert; daughter, Vicki, and children, Daniel and Adam; daughter Lisa and husband, Larry Allen and their son, Andrew; great grandchildren, Drew & Crysania (Cricket), & Matthew & Jenna; also survived by several brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Mon. Mar. 5, at 10 a.m. at Highland South Chapel, with Rev. David Webster officiating. Interment icon will immediately follow in Highland South cemetery. DICKENS, MICHAEL THOMAS - age 31 of Knoxville, passed away March 2, 2001 at UT Hospital. Survived by wife, Hope R. Dickens; daughter, Breana A. Dickens; step daughter, Krystina D. DOTSON, DELORA THOMAS ROSE - age 99, of Morristown, Tenn., formerly of Harlan, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2001, at Heritage Center in Morristown, Tenn. She was born on April 11, 1901, in Cawood, Kentucky. Mrs. Dotson was a retired seamstress from Atlas Company, and believed in the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Rebeccah Lodge of Evarts, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Mary Mitchell Thomas; her husband, Quill Dotson, and two children, James Rose, and Ernest Rose. Survivors include five children, Virginia Rose Scott and husband Ed of Morristown, Tenn., Margaret Rose Barr and husband Bob of Indianapolis, Ind., Opal Knuckles of Ohio, Evelyn Hicks of South Carolina, and Billy Rose of Washington; one sister, Kyla Jones of Sunshine, Kentucky, a special granddaughter, Diane Rose Mastro Paolo of Indianapolis, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at 8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Lambert officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Resthaven cemetery of Keith, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be family and friends. FOGARTY, PEGGY JEAN LAWSON - age 72 of Knoxville, passed away Friday morning March 2, 2001. Peggy was a graduate of Knoxville High School Class of 1946. She was an avid golfer and a member of Fox Den County Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Dovie Lawson; brother in law, Joe Conine. Survivors; husband of 50 years, William G. Fogarty, Sr. (Bill); daughters and sons in law, Jackie and Bill Corbett, Nancy Fogarty and fiancee' Mike Albright all of Charlotte, NC, Cindy and David Miller of Powell; son and daughter in law, William G. Fogarty, Jr. (Bill) and Tricia of Farragut; grandchildren, Kristen Corbett, Richard Corbett, Brooke and Austin Fogarty, Elissa Miller; guardian daughter, Crystal Manganiello and husband, Joseph and their children of TX; sisters and brothers in law, Jodie and D.R. Hankins of TX, Nancy Conine of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers and sisters in law, Jack and Evelyn Lawson of Knoxville, Mickey and Rene Lawson of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews and many special friends. FORD, MARY VIOLA - age 96, of LaFollette, passed away early Sunday morning, March 4, 2001, at the St. Mary's Hospital of Campbell Co. Mrs. Ford was a member of the Ford Town Baptist Church. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by husband, Byrd D. Ford; son, Newman Ford; parents, William and Martha Pyle Longmire; grandson, Bill Ford; sister, Wilma Longmire and brothers, Edd and Jack Longmire. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Overton Knox of Dayton, Ohio, Glenna and Everett Gross, Alice and Rev. Ralph Leach, and Della Leach, all of LaFollette, Judy and Roger McCarter of Caryville; sisters, Grace Reynolds of Nashville and Virginia Partin of Louisiana; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. GASSER, WILLIAM R. - age 78, of Maryville, Tenn., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born January 19, 1923, in Baraboo, Wisc., and he lived most of his life in McLean, Va. He retired to Maryville, Tenn., in 1985. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran, serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lois P. Gasser; sons, Karl, Lloyd, Neal, and Paul Gasser; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Gasser. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darris Doyal, and Rev. Richard Richter officiating. The interment icon will follow in Grandview cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. HAMMONDS, MARGARET M. - age 66 of Knoxville passed Saturday evening March 3, 2001. Survivors: daughters, Myrtle Covington, Ruth Shipley, Sue Caughorn; sons, Mike Lane, Eddie, Freddie, Donnie and Robert Hammonds; sisters, Martha Wilson, Eva Clevenger and Willie Lane; brother, Sam Lane; several grandchildren. HANEKE, JESSIE LEE - age 94, of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, March 4, 2001, at her home. Jessie was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Haneke; son-in-law, Herman Bowers. Survivors: daughter, Virginia Bowers of Lenoir City; grandchildren, David Bowers of California, Debbie Sanzone of North Carolina and Michael Bowers of Lenoir City; four great-grandchildren; great-great granddaughter, Jennifer Bowers; brother, Charlie Taylor of Texas; sister, Zeola Shulta of New Mexico; special friends and caretakers, Sandy Slover and husband Roger, and their daughter Kayla; several nieces and nephews. HALL, JAMES W. - age 88, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Friday, March 2, 2001, at Baptist Hospital, after a short illness. He was a member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Gus and Emily Hall; wife, Helen Juanita; brothers, Robert, Earl, Alfred (Mr. Jack), and Charles Hall; sisters, Francis Hall, Augustas Conners of Detroit. Survivors: stepson, Edward Lillard; three grandchildren; brother, Henry (Nelleen); sister, Margaret (Jesse) Farmer, all of Knoxville, Carrie Lane and Agnes Lowery of Detroit; sisters-in-law, Anna (Earl Doc) Fraizier, Mary Edna Hall of Knoxville, and a host of nieces and nephews to include the Battle family. Otis Harness; son, Kyle Harness; daughters, Rena Bell Harness, Reba Nell Harness, and Blanche Harness; brother, Roscoe Duncan; sisters, Daffie Duncan, Edna Duncan, and Bernice Duncan.
