He was preceded in death by his father, William Green, and grandparents, Lon and Pauline Green and Oren and Frances Moore. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Green; daughter, Nicole Green; stepson, Judd Sherlin; mother, Vera Green; brother, Jim Green and wife, Tammie; sister, Kim Griffin-Milsaps and husband Jimmy; niece, Kasey Griffin, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 14, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at McCarty's Evergreen Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Steve Evans officiating. Interment icon will be at Trentville cemetery. Cousins will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trentville United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund, 9215 Strawberry Plains Pike, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871. HAYSLIP, STEVEN DWAYNE - age 46 of Sevierville, died Tuesday June 12, 2001 at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was an honorary member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Survivors: wife, Anita Hurst Hayslip; son, Derrick Hurst; daughter, Becky Hayslip; special friend, Paul Russell; several caring friends and family members. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday at the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Parton and Rev. Greg Parton officiating. Interment icon to follow in Middle Creek cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

HEMBREE, REECE GALLAHER - age 89, of Poplar Springs Community, Loudon, passed away Wednesday morning, June 13, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Harriett Lineham. Reece was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was retired from Bacon Hosiery Mill. Preceded in death by husband, Jim Hembree; parents, John H. and Minnie Smith Gallaher; infant son, Earl Hembree; grandson, Bobby Hembree, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Amanda Haun; sisters, Virgie and Lucy Gallaher; brothers, Tommy and Frank Gallaher; stepchildren, Polly Littleton and Carl Hembree. Survivors: sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Hazel Hembree, Billy Hembree of Loudon; daughters and sons-in-law, Hazel Haun of Loudon, and Nancy and Troy Costner of Columbia, S.C., Harriett and Robert Lineham of Lenoir City; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; brothers, Burton Gallaher of Lenoir City, Edward and Charlie Gallaher of Kingston; sisters, Vida Russell and Jean Gallaher of Kingston. Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gene Russell officiating. Interment icon 10:30 a.m. Friday, Loudon County Memorial Gardens. HENDERSON, FLOYD B. - 84 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday evening, June 12, 2001, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army in WWII and he was a member of Local 917, Operating Engineers. Preceded in death by wife, Myrtle Beeler Henderson; parents, James and Elizabeth Henderson; baby brother, Hobert Henderson and sisters, Pearl Lowery and Helen McCarley. Survivors include: son and daughter in law, Steven and Verna Henderson of Maryville; daughter and son in law, Joyce and Rex Everett of Maryville; grandson and wife, Josh and Heather Everett of Maryville; grandson and wife, Michael and Stacy Henderson of Alcoa; grandson, Sam Myers of Maryville; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friend, Argust Ogle. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 15, 2001 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. George Macht officiating. Military honors will be presented by Volunteer State Honor Guard. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mynatt's Funeral Home.

HILL, VERNON ARLEN - age 76, went to be with Jesus on June 12, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Velma Hill; sisters, Hazel Stout, Juanita Horner and Francis Horner; brother, Virgil Hill. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Clifton and Sue Hill, Randy and Cathy Breeden, Lynn and Sandy Hill, Mitchell and Tammy Hill, Phyllis Hackworth, Ronnie and Angel Hill, Donnie Hill, Mitch and Susan Humphrey, Terry and Tonya Hill, Richard Hill, Steve and Leslie Hill, Kim Hill; 19 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. "We Love You Daddy" Serving as pallbearers will be the grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2001 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of McCarty Mortuary with Rev. Jerry Cox officiating. Family and friends will meet in the Marble Hill cemetery Friday at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. interment icon service. The Hill family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. McCarty Mortuary 4004 Holston Dr. in charge of arrangements.

HOUSE, HENRY F. - age 96, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Brakebill Nursing Home. He was a retired engineer from the City of Knoxville. He graduated from Haverford College and was a Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina B. House and nephew, Charles Coffman, Jr. Survivors: wife, Dorothy V. House; step son, Clayton Greene; step daughter, Carolyn Rogers; nieces, Mary Theg and Lillie Wallace, and nephew, J. F. Hall, Jr. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. G. Carswell Hughs officiating. Interment icon will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice. Family and friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

JONES, BOB J. - age 70, of West Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, after a brief battle with leukemia. A member of Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Bob was born in Decatur, Georgia, on November 23, 1930. He grew up with his two sisters and his parents on the campus of Agnes Scott College, located in Decatur. Bob was a Military Veteran with service in the Seabees, during the Korean War. He married his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Vanosdale in 1952, and they moved to Knoxville in 1958. He was past president and a member of the Cedar Bluff Optimist Club, a member of the Lions Club and the Charter President of the Cedar Bluff-Farragut Little League. Employed with the West Knox Utility District in 1974, as General Manager, and formerly served as Assistant Manager at the Hallsdale-Powell Utility District. He was the appointed chairman of the Utility Management Review Board in Nashville by Gov. McWherter and Gov. Sunquist since 1987, and the chairman of the Utility Management Federation since 2000. Bob was also the commissioner of the Webb Creek Utility District. A member of the Board of Directors at Tennessee Association of Utility Districts, as well as the Vice President of the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts, having served a two year term from July 1999 through June 2001. A member of the American Water Works Association, the National Rural Water Association and Water Environment and Technology. Bob was the newly elected president of the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts and inducted into the T.A.U.D. Wall of Fame. Survivors: his wife, Margaret Ann Vanosdale Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Gary Acquaviva, and Beth Ann and Mark Skeen; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Laura Jones, and Mark and Lynette Jones; grandchildren, Aletheia and Jonathan Worley, Andrea Acquaviva, Bobby Jones, Jennifer Skeen, David Jones, Megan Skeen, Nathan Jones, Sarah Grace Jones, and Amanda Kate Jones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Jack Symborski and Jean and Bob McWhinney; brother-in-law, Bill Vanosdale, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Dr. Don Groham and Rev. Chris Leonard officiating. Special music by Dr. and Mrs. Don Grohman. JULIAN, LOUIS RAY - age 82, passed away, after a long illness, at Hillcrest South Nursing Home. Member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. Retired from Armour Packing Co. Survived by wife, Anna Kate Sims Julian; two sons, Gene Julian and wife Eloise of Franklin, Tenn., Robert Julian and wife Debbie of Nashville, Tenn; seven grandchildren, Shelia Newman, Gina Maness, Ken Julian, Brent Julian, Patrick Julian and Bryan Julian; two great-grandchildren, Julia Grant Newman and Taylor Jade Maness; two sisters, twin sister, Mae Stone and Emily Ford. KINNEY, IAN DREHER - age 16 of Farragut passed away suddenly Tuesday evening June 12, 2001, in an automobile accident. Ian would have been attending Farragut High School as a Senior. He was a member of First Farragut United Methodist Church. Ian was an avid paint ball player, golfer, enjoyed air soft, boating and family activities. Survivors: mother and step father, Shirley and Harold Freedman of Farragut; father and step mother, Dreher and Maria Kinney of Columbia South America; step brothers, Jonathan and Mark Freedman, and Daniel De La Guardia; grandparents, Howard and Dorothy Kinney of Atlanta Ga; step grandmother, Frieda Freedman of Nashville; uncle and aunt, Harry and Saundra Gillman of Lenoir City, aunts, Pat Crawford of Texas, Anita and Howard Taradash of Nashville; cousins, Stephen Gillman, Kim Turner and her children, Kayla and Kristina Turner, Chance and Carie. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services 1 P.M. Friday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. LOVE, JEWELL WEBB - age 79, of Holston Hills, passed away Monday, June 11, 2001, at Baptist Hospital. Member of Second United Methodist Church and also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, serving in all capacities. Retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after 42 years, serving as a Railroad Engineer. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers at Holston Country Club. Heserved in the U. S. Air Force in World War II. He was in charge of the Food Ministry at his church for 14 years, which exceeds about a 100 people every Monday, and had great compassion for the homeless, helping in many ways. He was a great supporter of his church from Knoxville Opera Co. and oversees missionaries. Preceded in death by son, David Lawrence Love; parents, William and Lula Webb Love; one sister and two brothers. Survivors: wife, Ruth Loy Love; daughter and son-in-law, Melodie and Randy Williams of Knoxville; grandchildren, David Barrett Williams, Lauren Elizabeth Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Willis (Bill) and Alma Love, and nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Caskey of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Templeton of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Culin of Washington, D.C., and Mr. and Mrs. David Reyno of Alexandria, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cooper of Seymour, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Billy Love of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Elwell of Oakland, Calif; and several great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at the West Adair entrance to Lynnhurst cemetery 10:45 a.m. Thursday for interment icon at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Tripp, Rev. MARLOW, FRANK WILLIAM - age 77, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, S.C. Mr. Marlow was born at Pawley's Island on June 24, 1923, the son of the late Harry Lee Marlow and Ida Mae Miller Marlow. He was a graduate of Winyah High School in Georgetown and a life-long resident of Pawley's Island. Mr. Marlow served in the Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific. He was the owner and operator of Marlow's, a general mercantile store at Pawley's Island, until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Marlow was a communicant of All Saints Church, Waccamaw, and a member of Pawley's Island Lodge #409, A.F.M. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to chat with people. Surviving are his wife, Fay Rials Marlow of Pawley's Island, and a daughter, Leslie Gail Marlow Inman and her husband, Marvin Duane Inman of Magnolia, Ark. Memorial services will be Friday morning, June 15, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the graveside in All Saints Church, Waccamaw, Churchyard at Pawley's Island. Officiating will be the Rev. Manney C. Reid and the Rev. David C. Bryan. Interment icon will follow under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. A reception will be held at Frank's Restaurant at Pawley's Island immediately following the memorial service.

MARTIN, ALICE PAULINE "POLLY" - age 82 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She as a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Walter L. Martin; parents, Joe and Jessie McGhee; sister, Martha Boling. Louise Luttrell, Lucy Barton and Ruth Moore; brothers, Tommy, Earl and Buford McGhee. Survivors include, son, Johnny Myers; sisters and brothers in law, Nina B. and Herbert Howard of Strawberry Plains, Cora and Herbert Etherton of Sevierville; brothers and sisters in law, James and Mae McGhee of New Market, Ruth McGhee of Strawberry Plains; sisters in law, Gladys McGhee of New Market; special sister in law, Bessie McGhee of Morristown; brother in law, Doye Boling of Mascot; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday June 15, 2001 at 8 p.m. in the McCarty Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Al Smith officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. (Formerly Eastview Memorial Gardens) The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday prior to service. MASSIE, JESSE F. - age 87, of Fountain City, passed away 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. He was retired from Plasti Line, a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Seabees. Preceded in death by parents, Jesse F. and Louise Massie and two sisters. Survivors: wife of 65 years, Anna (Hill ) Massie; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Buster McMahan, all of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Don, Sr. and Janice Massie of Whitman, Mass.; grandchildren, Don Jr., Jason and Ryan Massie, and Spike McMahan; great grandchildren, Andrew and Kristin Massie, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Greenwood cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service, Rev. Pete Rowlett and John Needy officiating. MILLER, HELEN ALICE - age 86, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, June 11, 2001, at Hillcrest South. A lifelong member of Broadway Baptist Church, where she taught kindergarten for several years in the Child Development Center.Preceded in death by husband, Charles L. Miller. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Bob Arden of Seymour, Charlotte and Jim Locher of Knoxville, and Bobby Jarrett of Orlando, Fla.; son, Alfred Miller of Highlands, N.C.; grandchildren, Barry Arden, Laura Arden Brinson, Cara Arden Moore, Dr. Jim and wife Amanda Locher, and Michael and wife Cathy Locher; great-grandchildren, Miles and Chase Brinson, Ashley and Chase Alan Arden, and Ashley and Justin Locher. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Thursday for graveside services at 2 p.m., Dr. Dudley Cockrum and Rev. Tim Bounds officiating. MORRIS, EULAH SUTTON - age 80, of Sweetwater, Tenn. passed away at her home, Wednesday, June 13, 2001. She was a longtime employee of the Sweetwater Hospital Assoc. She was a member of the first United MethodistChurch, Sweetwater, also a member of the United Methodist Women and Chancel Choir. Preceded in death by her parents, James O. And Arda Ann Studdard Sutton; sister, Estell Sutton Dickey; husband, J.C. Morris, Jr. Survivors include; sons and daughters in law, John C. & Arlene Morris, III, Rockchester, Minn., James Sutton & Pam Morris, Sweetwater, Kelly L. & Cindy Lish, Morristown; grandchildren, Lindsay & Evan Morris, Matt & Melissa Morris, Chesnay & Calin Lish; brother and sister in law, James O. & Emma Sutton, Jr., Sweetwater. NOE, IDA D. - age 91, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001, 3:20 p.m. at the home of her daughter, in Philadelphia, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. (Bill) Noe; granddaughter, Carla Hicks. Survived by son and daughter in law, Charles and Jerri Noe; daughters and sons in law, Blanche and Charles Clifton, Judy and Jay Conaster; daughters, Evelyn Hicks and Elizabeth Smith; 13 grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. Graveside service 11 a.m. Friday at Boyd's Creek cemetery with Rev. Al Smith officiating. Pallbearers Jimmy Noe, Darrell Conaster, Tony Hodge, Michael Warren, and William Oody, Leonard Clifton.
