CLEMENTS, ROSALIND CLAIBORNE - age 80, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at her home in Nashville. Mrs. Clements was born and raised in the Knoxville area, attending public schools here and the University of Tennessee, Class of 1944. She and surviving husband, Capt. Daniel C. Clements, USN (RET), were married 57 years ago in the Lincoln Chapel of New York Ave. Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C., by the noted Scottish Presbyterian Minister, the Reverend Peter Marshall. Following their 30 years together as a Navy family in various locations and travel abroad, Mrs. Clements and her husband retired to country life in Morgan County, operating a small farm until 1992, when they moved to Nashville. Mrs. Clements was a member of the Presbyterian Church most of her adult life and an avid Genealogist. She had been in declining health from Alzheimer's disease for several years. Besides her husband, she is survived by their three children, Diane Claiborne Clements of Nashville, Jerome Baird Clements of Bartlett, Tenn., and Ann Dobson Clements of New York City; six grandchildren; older brother, Carl E. Claiborne of Powell; younger sisters, Neva Claiborne Burke of Oak Ridge, and Ruth Claiborne Rose of Loudon. Family and friends will meet at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood cemetery for a 4 p.m. Graveside and Interment icon Service with the Reverend Wendy Neff officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Middle Tennessee Chapter, 4004 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

COLLINS, RIDGLEY KYLE - age 50, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Baptist Hospital, following a valiant battle against cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Freeman and Nancy Collins and mother-in-law, Anne Noell Myers, all of Pennington Gap, Va. Survived by wife of 24 years, Rita Myers Collins; aunt, Anna Collins Brake; father-in-law, Fred Myers; sister-in-law and husband, Cathy and Terry Bailey; brother-in-law and wife, Bill and Sherry Myers; nephews and niece, Anthony, Jonathan, and Justin Bailey, and David and Brandi Myers. Ridgley was an impassioned sports fan with an astronomical retention of sports trivia. His partiality was for the New York Yankees, and the University of Tennessee, where he had not missed a home football game since 1976. Ridgley was a man of keen wit and an uncanny ability to ascertain fact from fiction. He was loved by all who knew him and his memory will be with us always. Special thanks to Dr. Tom Kim, Dr. Raymond Brig, Dr. James Baker, and special ICU angels, Christie and Sharyn. CUTSHAW, MARY LYNN CLARK - age 78, passed away Monday June 18, 2001 at home. Member of Meridian Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Floyd Cutshaw; parents, Edward and Mona Clark; brothers, Thelbert Clark and Clyde Clark; sisters, Dorothy Hall and Juanita Rigsbee. Survivors: sons & daughters in law, Howard and Kathy Cutshaw, Chattanooga, Jeff and Leslie Cutshaw, Knoxville; daughter & son in law, Bridget and Michael Wier, The Woodlands, TX; grandchildren, Clark and Aaron Cutshaw, Emily Weir; sister, Anna Mann, West Palm Beach, Fla.; same as a sister, Barbara Gregg. DAVIS, HELEN M. - age 82, went to her eternal home Sunday, June 17, 2001, at U. T. Hospital. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of the Knoxville area, and a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian and a loving mother. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Horton T. Davis; brother, Ervin Crace; sister, Josephine Delinger; granddaughter, Allison Rebekah Davis, and son-in-law, Denver Stair. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles C. and Janice Davis and children, Michael and Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Harold L. and Susan Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Larry P. and Ginger Davis and child, Preston, all of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Linda Davis and children Darrell, Carrie, and Misty of Marietta, Ga.; daughter, Donna Holden and child, Rob; daughter, Janet Stair and children, Sonia Birchfield and Bryan Overton, all of Knoxville; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brother Jim Crace of Hurricane, Va.; sisters, Pauline Keelin and Barbara Crace, both of Cattlesburg, Ky. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Davis memory to the Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37917. DOTSON, MARGIE GOODMAN - age 75 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Sanford, NC , passed away Sunday evening June 17, 2001 at the home of her daughter. Margie was affectionately known by her grandchildren as Monnie. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles H. Dotson who pastored at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Troy, NC, Sanford, NC, Blacksburg,VA and Washington, DC. Margie served faithfully with her husband in the churches as a pianist, Sunday school teacher, missionary society leader and other church activities. She later worked for the U S government in Washington as a secretary and also worked in the White House during her employment with the government. Margie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dr. Morris Tate with whom she made her home; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy W. and Connie Dotson of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Charles Tate of Nashville, TN, Jeff Dotson of Manassas, VA, Alisa Tate of Nashville, TN and Jay Dotson of Manassas, VA; sisters, Grace Wall Pilot Mountain, NC and Betty Hart of Sanford, NC; several nieces and nephews. DUNAWAY, VICKI CLAIBORNE - passed away Monday June 18, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a graduate of Karns High School Class of 1967. Graduate of UT class of 1970, and received her graduate degree from Union College. She was an English teacher & Dept. Chair 1970-1985, Assistant Principal 1986-1992, and Principal of Powell High School from 1992 to the present. She received the Met Life NASSP Principal of the Year in Tenn. for 1996 and was selected Tenn. Secondary Principal of the Year 1995. She was one of 100 educators selected to the Headmasters Association, a national organization. Member of the Renaissance National Advisory Board for Jostens & a member of Education National Board Education Class for the greater Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, she was one of three finalist for Principal Resident for the U.S. Dept. of Education, selected as Student Escort for the Panasonic Japanese Cultural Exchange trip in 1996. She was selected Business Person of the year in 1996 by the Powell Business & Professional Association. Member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Zeta Chapter, member of Ball Camp Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Vick Claiborne. FISHBACK, KATIE RUTH FREEMAN - of 1109 Beaman Lake Road, departed this life Sunday, June 17, 2001, at Fort Sanders Hospital. Preceded in death by husband, William Fishback. Survivors: God daughters, Regina King (Kenny) Buford and Joyce King Harris; God son, William G. King; God grandchildren, Misty King and Miss Williams, and many devoted friends to include staff of Golden Age, Robin Johnson, Teady and Yvonne Goins. GRANT, GERALD ALLEN - age 46, of South Knoxville, passed away Monday June 18, 2001 at Baptist Hospital. He was preceded in death by father, Robert Grant and brother, Larry Hooper. HEATON, IMOGENE BRIGHT - age 87 of Greenback, passed away Monday morning June 18, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Imogene was a member of Axleys Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Heaton; sister, Gay Bright; brothers, Ben Bright, Baxter Bright and Kenneth Bright. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Heaton of Greenback; daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Grady Thompson of Greenback; grandchildren, Jim Heaton of Greenback, Debbie Scarbrough and husband Tom of Greenback, Lori Guillemet and husband Mike of Lenoir City, Julie Ricketts and husband Chris of Greenback; great grandchildren, Sam Ricketts and Riley Guillemet; sister, Annie Milsaps of Greenback; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Anna Lou Bright, Allan and Barbara Bright all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. HUTCHISON, LEONARD RODNEY - born Feb. 24, 1966, age 35 of the Karns Community, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 17, 2001 (Father's Day). He was baptized in the Lord at Good News Ministry. Rodney was a 1984 graduate of Karns High School, employee of Crete Carrier Corp. for 14 years. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Delmer D. Hutchison & James Price Hughes, Sr.; grandmother, Louise Landers Hughes; uncles, James Price Hughes, Jr. & David W. Hutchison. Survived by devoted and loving wife, Kim Hutchison; his precious son, Dillon Hutchison; loving parents Pauline (Hughes) Hutchison O'Dell & Leonard D. Hutchison; loving & special grandmother, Dorothy Hutchison; special aunt, Joyce (Hughes) Tindell & special cousin, Joii (Tindell) Villarreal; special step parents, Shirley Hutchison and Otis O'Dell; step brother, Victor Harper & step sister, Melissa Reynolds; other special people in Rod's life were his niece, Amanda Ferguson; mother in law, Joyce Thompson; sister in law, Judy Ferguson. JOHNSON, JERRY LYNN - age 47, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 17, 2001, in a boating accident. Jerry was self employed as a painter and carpenter. He attended the First Church of God in Lenoir city. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Thelma Johnson; sister, Patsy Dobine and grandmother, Ella Bond. Jerry is survived by his sons, Wesley Estes Johnson of Knoxville, and Shane Johnson of Loudon; sisters, Tammia Ketron of Kansas and Brenda Cook of Loudon; brothers, William Michael Johnson of Philadelphia, Harold Dean Johnson of Loudon, and Bradley Jerome Johnson of South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. KERR, ARTHUR D. "BIGGEN" - age 94, of Blaine, passed away Monday June 18, 2001. He was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Rohm & Haas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Mary Ann Kerr; wife, Ann Belle Kerr; sisters, Pearl Bowling, Iva Shoemaker and Martha Hickman. Mr. Kerr is survived by his son and daughter in law, James A. "Buddy" and Mayme Kerr of Blaine; grandchildren, Greg Kerr and wife, Ellie, Robin Hubbard and husband, Terry both of Blaine, Cindy McHaffie and husband, Bobby of Jefferson City; great grandchildren, Dylan and Madison Kerr, Shane and Tyler Hubbard and Jimbo and Catie McHaffie; many other family and friends. KING, W. FAYE TOWNSEND - age 69, went home to be with Jesus Monday morning, June 18, 2001. She was a member of Sevierville First Baptist Church and faithful member and sometimes teacher of Katie Blalock's Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dowe D. Townsend and Maude Maples Townsend. Survivors: She was the Christian wife of Carroll L. King for almost 46 years; son, Daniel Blair King; daughter, Connie Lee King; grandchildren, Summer King of Sevierville, and Blair and Crystal King of Florida; sister, Beatrice (Bea) Barnes and brothers, David, Delmar and Wade Townsend. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating. Interment icon 10 a.m. Thursday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Carroll King's Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers. Faye's Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. LONG, NAOMI PERSHING - age 86 of West Knoxville, died Sunday June 17, 2001. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband of 51 years, Robert L. (Bill) Long. She is survived by son and daughter in law, Lawrence and Marlene Long of Knoxville; daughter and son in law, Myra and Mick Fancher of Farragut; brothers and sisters in law, J.E. and Mae Pershing of Maryville, William and Alice Pershing of Knoxville; sister and brother in law, Lydia and James Brady of Knoxville; grandchildren, Barry and Ellen Long, Janice and Eric Hullemeyer, Darrin and Stephanie Wilcox, Rob Long, Beau Fancher and Brittany Fancher; great grandchildren, Christine, August and Josef Hullemeyer, Joshua and Ashley Wilcox, Erin Long; special caregiver, Ruth Carter. LYNSKY, DOROTHY J. - age 77, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Kalamazoo, Mich., passed away Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Medical Center. Dorothy was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband, Edmund Lynsky of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law Joan and Lawrence Markel of Knoxville, and Arlene and Randall Labnon of Gorham, NH; four grandchildren, Evan and Andrea of Knoxville, and Katherine and Christian of Gorham, NH. A service was held on Sunday, June 17, 2001, at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19, 2001, from 8:30-10 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. at the Higgins Funeral Home in Roslindale, MA.
