Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and John Brooks of Spring City, Tenn., Alice and Ronald Burress of Pensacola, Fla., Laura and Ralph Marlow, and Mary and Danny Disney, both of Stony Fork Rd.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Polly Davis of Lynn, Ind., Tommy and Sandra Davis of Stony Fork Rd., Albert and Donna Davis of Avalon Beach, Fla.; 21 special grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; sister, Jimmie Davis of Stony Fork Rd.; sisters-in-law, Reda Tackett of Jacksboro, and Amanda Reed of Clinton. She loved the Lord, her Children, and her Church. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Cross Chapel, Rev. James Adkins and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment icon 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Beech Fork cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. prior to services Wednesday. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.

DELAY, LOIS RUTH SHEPHERD - age 80, of Heiskell, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Mariner Health Care Center in Norris. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, quilting and different types of needlework. Preceded in death by first husband, Buster House; infant daughter, Linda Carol House; father, Russell Shepherd and mother and stepfather, M.C. and Josie Adkins Martinez; son-in-law, Frank Hooks; sister, Minnie Beach; brothers, Harvey, Dave and Oatha Russell Shepherd. Lois was born January 11, 1921, in Independence, Kansas. Survivors: husband, Charles A. Delay of Heiskell; sons, Doug House and wife Libby of Houston, Texas, Jimmy House and wife Sarah of Arab, Ala., Jerry House and wife Susan of Clinton, Jackie House and wife Carol Lee of Michigan, and Gary House of Michigan; daughters, Kathie Miller and husband Greg of Clinton, and Inez Hooks of Heiskell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8 p.m., in the chapel with Rev. Tom Aiken officiating. Interment icon will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Andersonville. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.

HOLLAND, DAIL C. - 71, passed away Sunday morning, June 24, 2001 at Northhaven Health Care Center. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He is survived by sister and brother in law, Chloe and Rev. Joel Johnson, Elkin, NC; sister and brother in law, Dora Dean and Max Banks, Jefferson City; brother and sister in law, Wilford and Argel, Knoxville; sister, Carolyn Strunk, Louisville, Ky.; brother and sister in law, Rev. John and Pat, Knoxville; brother in law, Ernest Gelhar, Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. Family & friends will meet Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel by 10:15 a.m. to proceed to Thorngrove cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service with Dr. James Robertson officiating. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

HOPE, ROBERT AVERY - age 71 of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, June 24, 2001, at the Loudon Health Care Center. Bob was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the Army and was awarded 4 bronze stars. Bob was a painter and barber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Virgie McCuistion Hope. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Billie Hope, Jimmy and Lois Hope all of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and David Hylton of Knoxville, Sheena Gulvartian of Lenoir City, Connie and Bob Stone of Loudon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Alma Goss of Boynton Beach FL, Edna Jett of Knoxville, Ruby Llewellyn of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Vinet Hope of Sweetwater and Neil Hope of Columbus, GA; several nieces and nephews; mothers of his children, Grace Evelyn Kelley of Knoxville and Ruth H. Daye of Lenoir City. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather at 12 noon Wednesday at the Tennessee State Veteran cemetery in Knoxville for graveside services with full military honors conferred by the East Tennessee State Veteran Honor Guard. JAMES, RAYMOND CALVIN - age 69, of Strawberry Plains, passed away at 11:57 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains. A retired employee of the Jefferson County Board of Education and a farmer. Preceded in death by parents, Lee and Lola James; sisters, Iva Wilson and Edith Vineyard, and brother, John James. Survived by wife of 39 years, Mary Martha James; sons, Gerald Calvin and Donald Ray James; sister and husband, Mary and Pete Acuff, all of Strawberry Plains, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, Fielden Chapel with Revs. Rex Eledge and Mike Boatfield officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Wednesday, Pleasant Grove (Piney) cemetery. Pallbearers, Bob Gaddis, Edgar Bruner, Dennis Gann, Gerald Patterson, Robert Turley and Tommy Sartin. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home, New Market.

KINSER, JAMES GORDON - age 57, of Knoxville, passed away Monday morning, June 25, 2001. Mr. Kinser was a member of the Belmont Heights Baptist Church for 19 years. He was formerly employed at Time D.C. with a membership in Teamsters Local 519; currently employed by Power Unlimited. He is survived by his wife, Linda Collins Kinser; 1 son; 1 daughter; grandchildren; brothers and sisters. KENNEDY, BETTY J. - age 58, passed away Saturday June 23 at Parkwest Medical Center after a long battle with heart & kidney disease. Member of Dante Baptist Church. KILGORE, KEITH ANN "KITTY" ALLEY - 51 years of age, of Grundy, Va., passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Dickenson County, Va., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on State Route No. 83 near Clintwood, Va. Born at Williamson, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Audley R. and Edna Hurley Alley. She had been a resident of the Grundy Area several years and was a member of Vansant Presbyterian Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College and University of Virginia College at Wise, Va., with a B. S. degree in Business. She was self-employed in the Cosmetology Business and was a Homemaker. Mrs. Kilgore is survived by her husband, William D. Kilgore, Jr., of Grundy, Va.; one son, Ashley Schwartz of Speedwell, Tenn.; one step daughter, Jennifer Hollon of Maryville, Tenn.; one step son, William D. Kilgore III of Maryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Norma Jean Justice of Kimper, Ky., Mildred Plymal of Freeburn, Ky., and Mary Jane Charles of Lexington, Ky. Also, survived by four grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews, 28 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Alley. Funeral services for Keith Ann "Kitty" Alley Kilgore will be conducted Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Va., with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Grundy, Va. LEATHERWOOD, JAMES EDWARD - age 58, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001. Survivors: children, Leslie A. Nelson and Wendy Brooks; two grandsons, Matt and Mark; sister, Brenda Shamblin Flowers; brother, Jack Leatherwood, and two nephews, Bill and Mike. Memorial Service 7 p.m. Tuesday, Berry Chapel. LYON, PEARL PAULINE CARTER - age 85, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Fairpark Healthcare Center in Maryville. Mrs. Lyon was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Roseanna Morris Carter; husband, Roy Lyon; sisters, Georgia Danner, Grace Lyons, and Sylva Stout. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chesley and Margaret Lyon; daughter, Gayle Lyon; step daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Bud Hale; brother, James Carter; sisters, Mabel Jenkins and Alice Danner, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon with a funeral service at Noon in the Highland South Chapel with the Rev. Dudley Cockrum officiating. Interment icon will be in Highland South cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, P. O. MASSEY, ROSS LEE, JR. - age 47, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Florida. Mr. Massey was a construction worker with Jacobsen Homes, and he served in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma E. Massey. Survivors: father, Ross L. Massey, Sr.; son, Ross Lee Massey III; daughter, Melissa Massey; granddaughter, Erica Massey; brothers, Danny M. Massey and Larry Massey, all of Knoxville; sister, Pam Morris of Chattanooga; sister, Shirley Pile of Cleveland, Ohio; Ermigene Howell of Texas. A graveside service will be conducted today, June 26, 2001, at 5 p.m. at Highland South cemetery with the Rev. George Williams and Rev. W. C. Thornton officiating. McCLAIN, LUCY MAE - age 84 of Knoxville, passed away Monday June 25, 2001 at Park West Hospital. Member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church and retired from the Knoxville City School Special Education with 30 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Elizabeth Hamrick; brothers, Oscar Hamrick and son, Kenny McClain. Survivors: husband, Granville McClain of Knoxville and son, Jerry McClain of Fla.; brother and sister in law, Paul and Carolyn Hamrick; several nieces, nephews and special cousins; special friend, Irene Vaugh. Service 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Mynatt's Chapel, Rev. Bruce Robinson and Rev. Raymond Long officiating. Family and friends will meet 1 p.m. Wednesday Highland Memorial cemetery for interment. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. at Mynatt's.

NORMAN, MRS. ESCO (PRUDIE) WHITE - age 76, of the Hardin Valley Community, passed away suddenly on Sunday June 24, 2001. She was a member of the Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Maw was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was also a very avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. White and Ida McLemore White and husband, Esco (Eck) Norman. Mrs. Norman is survived by her children, Marie Cagle, Janice Norman, Brenda and Ron Graves, Cleo and Judy Norman, Jane and Ken Lowe, and W. Edward Norman; grandchildren, Lisa Cagle, Dewayne Cagle, Jason Graves, and Jamie Wilder; great grandchild, Sarah Marie Cagle; brothers and sisters, Dora Wade of Madisonville, Tenn., John White of Maryville, Austin White of Knoxville, Charles White of Knoxville, Gene White of Knoxville, and Joe White of Solway. Mrs. Norman is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday with the service to follow at 8 p.m. The Revs. Jean Richardson and Bill Middleton will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 27, 2001 at the Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery on Hardin Valley Road. The family will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. on Wed.. Serving as pallbearers will be, Virgil Hubbard, Paul Satterfield, Michael Satterfield, Jim Stafford, Jake Stafford, and Roger Yarnell. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Norman.

PRICE, RALPH ROBY - of Caryville, Tenn., passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001. He was born May 1, 1914, in Independence, Preston County, West Virginia. He graduated High School in 1932, graduated Diesel Engineering School, Syracuse, New York in 1934. He owned Price Coal Company until retirement in 1979. He was preceded in death by wife of 56 years, Ora Jane Price. Survivors: daughter, Carol Lee Leeds; sons, Ralph Clark Price and William Randolph Price; granddaughter, Stacy L. McQuown; grandsons, Brian C. Price, Roby M. Wray, Matthew P. Wray, and William R. Price, Jr. Mr. Price is at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, where the family will receive friends from 12 Noon till 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Greenwood cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday for a 2 p.m. Graveside Service. Arrangements by Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 588-0567.

REAGAN, WILLIAM F. (BUD) - age 66 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospice. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Preceded in death by son, Ray Reagan. Survivors include, wife of 48 years, Billie Jean Reagan; son, Bobby Reagan; grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Ray, Jr. and Ashley Reagan; brother and sister in law, James and Barbara Reagan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at 8 p.m. in the McCarty Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ray Ridgeway and Rev. Keith Vaughn officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Chilhowee cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. prior to service. SMITH, MAJOR WILLIAM T. (BILL) - age 55, of Powell, died suddenly Sunday, June 24, 2001. He was a United States Air Force Veteran seeing active duty in Vietnam and retiring in 1989, after attaining the rank of Major. He was presently employed by the Tennessee Department of Childrens' Services. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola Smith and sister, Sarah. His survivors include daughters, Shasta Thompson of Knoxville, and Kristina Smith of Powell; brothers, Ted Smith of Powell, Don Couch of S. Dakota, and Clarence Couch of Sevierville; granddaughter, Ravyn Thompson and his beloved Ann Robinette. Memorial service 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel wit Rev. Larry Brannon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Ave., Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215. REITZ, THEODORE (TED) JENNINGS - age 70, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Member of Concord Methodist United Methodist Church. Ted is a native of Sarver, Penn., a suburb of Pittsburg, a graduate of Freeport, Penn. High School. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in the Philippines. Ted retired from the U. S. Dept. of Defense in Washington, D.C., with honorary rewards in 1986, after 36 years. After retirement he continued working with the U. S. Federal Retired Members and was President for 7 years. He had been a member of the Lions Club in Beltsville, Md., and had been President several years. He was a co-owner with his wife of a flower shop "Margarets Flowers" in Beltsville, Md. for 10 years. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eva Mae Reitz. Ted was a very devoted and loving husband and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Survivors: devoted wife of 38 years, Margaret Mitchell Reitz; sisters, Laura Ricail (Louis) and Gearalding Gerry Hughs (Bob) of Sarver, Penn.; brothers, Larry Reitz (Terri) of Berwyn Heights, Md., and Carl Reitz (Lois Jean) of Placentia, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Reitz is at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5313 Kingston Pike, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Highland Memorial Chapel, Rev. Beecher Dunsmore officiating. Entombment in Highland Memorial cemetery. RUCKART, CONNIE E. - age 42, of West View Community, passed away Sunday June 24, 2001 at home. Member of Second United Methodist Church. She was employed by Trinity Child and Development Center as a Teacher's Aid of 3 an 4 years olds. She loved taking care of children. Preceded in death by her father, Ivan Cook, Sr.; and father in law, Fred Ruckart. Survivors: she leaves behind her wonderful husband of 22 years, Frank Ruckart; 4 year old son, Clint Ruckart; step son, David and wife, Sharr Ruckart; mother, Frances Cook; mother in law, Cora Ruckart; sisters and brothers in law, Jackie and Buddy Qualls, Fay and Charles Neeley; brothers and sisters in law, Stoney and Pat Cook, Wayne and Sharon Cook, Donnie and Jean Cook; brother, Ivan Cook, Jr.; brothers in law, Clayton and wife, Barbara Ruckart, Robert and wife, Judy Ruckart; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday at the Lynnhurst Greenwood Chapel, Rev. Carl Oakes, Rev. Monty Howell, and Rev. Gerald McFarland officiating. Interment icon 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood cemetery.
