Joan Casteel Bright Hall, 74, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Sunday at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow. Graveside services will be held on Friday in Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life at 11 a.m.

Julia Gragg, Lenoir, N.C.
Julia Elizabeth Bolick Gragg, 93, died on Sunday at her residence. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Pendry's Funeral Home, Lenoir, N.C.. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Pendry's Chapel. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in the Globe community.

Dorothy Archer, Kingsport
Dorothy Padgett Archer, born Dec. 10, 1916, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, April 30, 2009, at the Wexford house. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating. Graveside services will follow the funeral on Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport.

Margaret DeVault, Bristol, Tenn.
Margaret Masengill DeVault died Wednesday. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at State Street United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The committal service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Glenwood cemetery. Oakley-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory, Bristol, Tenn. is in charge.

Harold "Kip" Churchwell, Kingsport
Harold "Kip" Churchwell, 44, passed away on Thursday at his residence. Calling hours are from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill. Graveside services will be conducted following the visitation at Old Union cemetery.

Jeanette M. Manis, 69, of Rogersville, died Tuesday at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Choptack Baptist Church cemetery.

Lillian P. Sammons, Bristol, Tenn.
Lillian P. Sammons, 70, of Bluff City, died Thursday from Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in Erwin. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Lillian will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. The committal service and interment icon will follow in Gardener's Chapel cemetery.

Martha B. Johnson of Kingsport passed away Thursday. A private internment service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at the First Baptist Church, Kingsport at 2 p.m. The family will meet friends immediately after the service in the church parlor. Oak Hill Funeral Home is in charge.

M.C. Elam, 84, entered into rest April 30, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gate City Funeral Home in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Charlie Taylor officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Grassy Creek cemetery, Nickelsville, Va., conducted by American Legion Hammond Post #3 Kingsport and Gate City Post #265 and the VA Army National Guard Honor Guard. Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Elam family.

Mrs. Sarah Gennette "Nettie" Caldwell, 93, of Church Hill, passed away peacefully Thursday at Holston Valley Medical Center. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McPheeters Bend cemetery.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Morris-Baker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge.
