Arthur Morehead
Kingsport - Arthur O'Neil Morehead, 80 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Life Care Center of Gray following a long illness. Born in Concord, North Carolina, he had been a resident of this area for most of his life. He retired from TEC in 1986 after 38 years service in the shops and services and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church in Yuma, VA, but had attended the Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Kingsport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Cox Morehead and Chloe (Bledsoe) Morehead; brother, Bill Morehead.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Fields Morehead of the home; daughter, Sandra Lane and fiance Donald Ketron of Kingsport, sons, Curtis Morehead and wife Linda of Pensacola, Fla., Bobby Morehead and wife Juanita of Roanoke, Va.; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Betty and Jackie; brothers, Kenneth and Jim; several neices and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday (August 16,2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Burton officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park, with the American Legion Post 3/265 and TN National Guard conducting the rites. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m.

Clifton Lynn Frazier
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord
Lynn Frazier, 64 of Kingsport, walked out on glorious clouds to meet his Jesus Christ on Monday (August 13, 2007) following a brief illness.
Born in Dungannon, VA, Lynn had lived in Ohio for several years before making his home in Kingsport. He was a tractor-trailer operator for over 30 years. Lynn was a member of Parkers Chapel Church, and was a wonderful husband, Father and loved his grandchildren so much. His goal in life, was to see his whole family saved and to see his grandchildren grow up. He loved his Lord and church family very much.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 46 years, Reba Jayne Frazier, of the home; daughters, Nickie Mabry and husband Tony, Morristown, Joy Mallory and husband Scott, Church Hill, Sherry Pearcy and husband Barry, Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Ethan, Kaley, Cierra, and Mason; sister, Judy Gray, Johnson City; brothers, Richard Frazier, and wife Shelby, Weber City, Gary Frazier and wife Sharon, Gray, Michael Frazier and wife Sharon, Surgoinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (August 15, 2007) from 5 to 8 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at funeral home chapel at 8 pm Wednesday with Pastor Gary Calhoun, Rev. Mark Ball and Larry Hommel officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday (August 16, 2007) at 11:00 am at Oak Hill cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Franzus, the men of Parkers Chapel, and his many close friends. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Parkers Chapel Church Building Fund at 437 Parker Drive, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.

Bertie Lee Skeen
Bristol, TN - Bertie Lee Sensabaugh Skeen, 97 of Bristol Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Hawkins County, as a minister's wife, Bertie had lived in several locations within the Holston Methodist Conference but, had made her home in Bristol, TN since 1980. She was an active member of the Cozy Corner Club, The Eastern Star and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, as well as, many other community services. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bristol and involved with many activities within the Holston Methodist Conference.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Carroll Skeen and her son-in-law, H.M. "Stokey" Collins.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Collins of Kingsport; grandchildren, Carroll Collins and Barbara Malone of Blountville, Mary Bacon and husband Alan of Kingsport, Jerry Collins of Knoxville, Michael Collins and wife Julie of Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Matthew Forbush, Brad Bacon, Chad Bacon and wife Tara, Allison Cordell and husband John, Lexia Honeycutt and Logan Honeycutt; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Aileen Peoples and husband Lester; brother-in-law, Hugh Harold all of Morristown; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at First United Methodist Church of Bristol, 322 Vance Drive, Bristol, TN.
Services will follow at 7:00 PM at the church with Rev. Joe D. DowlingSoka and Rev. Carole R. Martin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Oak Hill cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shaw Anchor Bible Class and those who were called into the clergy under the ministry of Rev. Carroll and Bertie Skeen. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Bristol, 322 Vance Drive, Bristol, TN 37620.

Jerry Harkleroad
Jerry Wynn Harkleroad, 60, Kingsport, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning (August 8, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a member of Bellmont Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force and the United States Army having served in the First Gulf War and retired from the Army Reserve as a Master Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Dorothy Dykes; and sister, Brenda Stone.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Garland, Church Hill; son, Chip St.Clair, Nashville; grandchildren, Paige Garland, Cannon St.Clair; twin sister, Sherry Surgenor and husband Howard, Kingsport; sister, Mitsey King and husband, Bobby.
Calling hours will be Thursday (August 9, 2007) from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may call at anytime at the residence of 444 Hooven Street, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Adams officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted Friday (August 10, 2007) at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill cemetery with American Legion post 3/265. The Honor Guard serving as pallbearers.

George Price
George F. Price, 86, of Kingsport, left Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital early Monday morning (August 6, 2007) to be with the Lord.
Born in Southwest Virginia, he lived most of his life in Kingsport. He was employed by Eastman Kodak for 43 years. Mr. Price was a devoted and well-loved father, grandfather, and brother. He was well liked by all; there was no stronger Democrat or Sullivan South athletic fan in Sullivan County. He lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Jones Price; parents, Molly and Daniel Price; siblings, Mary Clipse, Harmon Price, Gale Price, Chrystel Bledsoe, and Roma Pennovich.
He is survived by his son, Tony Price; daughter and son-in-law, Teddi and Mark Adler; sister, Dorothy Price, all of Kingsport; sister, Kathleen Wolfe, Gate City; he was “granddaddy” to many but most lovingly to his three grandsons, Troy Forrester, Oak Ridge, Craig Forrester and Sean Price both of Kingsport, as well as Bryant, Alena, and Zach Adler, Knoxville.
Calling hours will be Thursday (August 9, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1238 Pine Street, Kingsport, TN. Friends may also visit anytime at the home of his daughter Teddi Adler, 605 Whispering Way, Kingsport, TN 37663.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Frank Crawford officiating. Music will be provided by Cross Roads Quartet.
Graveside services will be Friday (August 10, 2007) at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Senior Men’s Sunday school class at Calvary Baptist Church and Sullivan South’s football team. Friends and family who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m.

Nellie Helton
Nellie Burton Helton, 89, Kingsport, TN went to be with the Lord, Sunday, (August 5, 2007), at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
She was born in Hawkins County, TN (Poor Valley) and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a Christian and a member of Summerville Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and a friend to all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dean F. Helton in 2001; parents, Mark and Elora Helton; brother, Earl Burton; half brothers, Ray Burton and Gale Burton; and step mother, Lizzie Burton.
She is survived by her daughters, Margie Cleo Helton, Kay Helton Wood and husband, Harry, both of Kingsport; special niece, Sue Burton Darnell, Gray; half sisters, Helen Didonato and Jean Barnard both of Mooresborg, TN, Cecile Holt, Monie Jones, and Elizabeth Helton all of Rogersville, Mildred Williams Bulls Gap, and Evelyn Stout, Elizabethton; half brother, Luther Burton, Lenoir, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (August 8, 2007) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Bolden officiating.
Graveside service will be conducted following the funeral service at East Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randle Helton, Larry Helton, Roger Helton, Dennis Helton and Bill Ball.

Lois Parker
Lois Agnes Parker, 86, Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord Saturday, (August 4, 2007), at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport, TN.
She was born Sept 20, 1920 in the Moccasin Gap area of Hansonville, VA and had lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was retired from Holston Valley Medical Center, Dietary Department, for over 20 years. She had a great faith in the Lord, and is with her angels now. She lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was of the Methodist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Bernard and Katherine Easterly; sisters, Fannie Woodrow Easterly Cross and Emily Sue Ellen Easterly; brother, William Macelhaney Easterly.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Diana L. Parker, Church Hill and Cynthia J. Bishop, Gray; grandchildren, Lori Anne Crossnoe and husband Jeff, Kingsport and Christopher Scott Bishop, Johnson City; brother, Bernard S. Easterly Jr., Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday (August 06, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Monday, 7 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Stout, officiating.
Graveside services will be Tuesday (August 7, 2007) 11a.m., at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
