Robert Leonard Carter
Kingsport - Robert Leonard Carter, age 71 of Kingsport, went to his new heavenly address on Saturday morning, June 3, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Scott County VA on July 30, 1934, Mr. Carter had lived most of his life in Kingsport. He was a retired truck driver with ABF and a member of the Local #549. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Carter attended Apostolic Gospel Church and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all and will surely be missed. He would want everyone to come see him at his new address.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie William Carter and Martha Ellen Fields Carter, sisters, Ruth Darnell and Myrtle Hass and a brother, James Carter.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Helen(Spivey) Carter, daughters, Lisa Newland and husband Tim, Theresa Potter and husband Jay, son, Robert William Carter and wife Tammie, step son, Terry McClellan, sisters, Beulah Mayes and Janet Marshall, brother, Wallace Carter, grandchildren, Brandon Bishop, Brittany Carter, Autumn Loggans, Justin Carter, Ashley McClellan and Jackie McClellan, step-grandchildren, Jessica Keene, Dustin Newland and Cody Newland, great-grandson, Bryant Chase Bishop, step-great grandchildrn, Haley Keene, Dalton Keene, Hannah McClellan and Nevah McClellan, several very special nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Monday June 5, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Street officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
Military graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Oak Hill cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 conducting the rites. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Gospel Church, 1780 Granby Road Kingsport, TN 37660.

Glen H. Huff
Kingsport - Glenn Harold Huff, age 79 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Castlewood, VA, Mr. Huff had been a resident of Kingsport for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII and retired from Anderson Ford. He was a member of Mercy Seat Ministries (formerly Gospel Assembly Church) and stood by the work of God all the days of his life.
Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents; Arnold and Gladys Crawford Huff and a brother Marvin Neal Huff.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Herron Huff of the home; daughters, Patricia Faye Huff and Deborah Christine Barnett and husband Michael; sons, Freddie Glenn Huff and wife Mary Jeanette and Danny Ray Huff and wife Sharon Rose; grandchildren, Susan White, Karen Boehm, Amy Frey, Jason Huff, Brian Huff, Isaac Atkins, Joshua Atkins and Seth Atkins; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Trusty of Ohio, Norma Elkins of Nashville and Barbara Bradley of Kingsport; brother, Kenneth Huff of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Monday June 5, 2006 at Mercy Seat Ministries, 376 Bob Jobe Road Kingsport, TN.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with the Pastor LeAnder Ray officiating. Pallbearers will be Men of Mercy Seat Ministries.
Military graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain conducting the rites. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 AM.

Eva Lee Brown Neil
Kingsport - Eva Lee Brown Neil, 85, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Brookhaven Manor, following an extended illness.
Eva was born in Middlesboro, KY but she resided most of her life in Kingsport. She was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin W. Neil; her parents, Tom and Lula Whitaker Brown; three brothers and two sisters
She is survived by her son, Larry A. Neil and wife Ann of Kingsport; her granddaughter, Kimberly Neil of Kingsport; a sister, Ruby Holton of Church Hill; a brother, Jim Brown and wife Opelee of Middlesboro, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, June 5, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport with Rev. Jessie Wooten, officiating. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 12:55 pm.
A special thanks to Doug Harris and all the staff at Brookhaven and to Fran Cook with Hospice for all the excellent care.

Lucille V. Peters
Kingsport, - Lucille V. Peters, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 2, 2006 at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended illness.
She has been a lifelong resident of Kingsport and attended the Bloomingdale Baptist Church.
Preceeding her in death were her husband, Virgil Peters; son, Michael Peters; two brothers, John W. Rogers and C. Keener Rogers; two sisters, Vessie Gilreath and Gladys Houser and her parents, John M. and Media Mae Ketron Rogers .
She is survived by her daughter, Wenonah "Wendy" McClellan and her husband, Jim of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Donna Quillin and husband Jeff and Robbie McClellan and wife Jennifer; five great-grandchildren, Caylin, Chayla, & Heath Quillin and Tori and Taylor McClellan; a brother, Arthur Rogers and wife Pauline; a very special and dear niece, Jeri Houser as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or anytime at the residence, 420 Chadwell Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe W. Byrd, officiating. Music provided by Carol Hackler, Patty Fletcher and Jerry Taylor
Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Monday, June 5, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 9:55 am.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 4th and 5th floor nursing staff of Indian Path Medical Center for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Peters during her illness.

Cathrin Bryant Williams
Kingsport - Cathrin Bryant Williams, 73, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday night (May 29, 2006) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Plant City, FL and had lived in Baltimore, MD until three years ago, when she moved to Kingsport. She was called Mother Williams, in her church where she was a faithful member at Abundant Life Church, Baltimore, MD. She was presently a member of New Life Tabernacle, Kingsport. She was owner of Cathrin DayCare Center for several years and retired 10 years ago.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha Ellis Bryant.
Surviving are her husband, Willie J. Williams of the home; her two daughters, Martha McCormick and husband Michael of Baltimore, MD and Barbara Williams and fiancé Donald A. Vent of Rocky Mount, NC; three sons, Charles K. Williams and wife Sheila of Baltimore, MD, Calvin Williams of Rocky Mount, NC and Rev. Michael J. Williams and wife Malinda of Kingsport; a special grandson, Torree Peay whom she raised and wife Jamee; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Bryant and wife Lorraine of Baltimore MD; special friends, Elois Lawerence, Deborah Belin, Linda Snapp, Vina Hoard and Venus Carrier, several nieces and nephews and a host of spiritual children in Baltimore, MD and Kingsport who called her Mother Williams.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, June 2, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will conducted at 2 pm on Saturday, June 3, 3006 at Scott County Funeral Home, 280 Hwy 23N, Weber City, Va. with Rev. Michael J. Williams and Rev. Jeremiah Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holston View cemetery, Weber City, VA with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Henry Giles
Henry Easley Giles, 63, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Richmond, VA and had lived in this area since 1988. He had attended St. Leo College in Florida. He retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Chief Warrent Officer, CW04 after over 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eley Yaple and Ida (Culley) Giles.
Surviving are, Janice Hibbits Giles of the home; his daughter, Chantele D. Giles of Griffin, Ga.; his son, Henry Easley Giles, II and wife Vivian of Blacksburg, VA; 2 step-sons, Christopher Greear of Kingsport and Matthew Greear of Bristol, TN; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Birdie Abrams of Owego, NY and Patricia Feuger of Virginia Beach, VA; 1 brother, Eley Giles of Lynchburg, VA; the mother of his children, Vivain P. Giles of Clearwater, S.C. along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Military Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Mountain Home National cemetery, Mountain Home, TN conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265, with Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain. Pallbearers will be the American Legion Color Guard. HOnorary Pallbearers will be Michael Hyatt, Robert Hicks, Henry Easley Giles, II, Chris Greear, and Matt Greear

Robert "Porter" Page
Robert “Porter” Page, age 73 of Kingsport passed away Sunday (April 27, 2008) at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, VA (Nickelsville) and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. Porter was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan and he loved fishing and hunting. He was retired from Baker’s Construction Co. as a drill operator and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Bertha Elam Page; wife, Doris; sons, Eddie and Dennis; three brothers, Coy, John, and Lloyd; two sisters, Brenda and Doris.
Mr. Page is survived by, Mable Rasnake, of the home; three sons, Richard “Buddha” Page, Tony Page, and Timmy Page all of Kingsport; four step children, Donna Rasnake Jones, Bristol, TN, Donnie Rasnake, Kingsport, Pat Rasnake, Big Stone Gap, Ottie Rasnake, Kingsport; grandchildren, Tammy, Amanda, Torrie, Cody, Cheyenne, Heather, Hunter, Logan, Lindsey, Josh, Kayla, Emily, and Jennifer; great grandson, Leland Marshall; brother, Donnie Page, Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. The family will also receive friends at the residence of 801 Ross Street, Kingsport, TN 37664.
Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. with Rev. Shelton Meade officiating. Music will be provided by Rick Harris.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday (May 1, 2008) at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Page, Chris Page, Kevin Hughes, Bob Page, Jesse Hickman, Don Begley, Mark Kolarsky, and Mike Quillen. Honorary pallbearers will be June Bug Cooper, Skip Lemons, Truman Tankersley, Hagan Bowen, Henry Quillen, and Ralph Page. Family and friends planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
