Brian Scott Stanley
Brian Scott Stanley, age 47, of Blountville passed away on Thursday (April 24, 2008) and is now in heaven with God and his family and friends.
He was born in Shelby, Ohio and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He was a graduate of Northeast State. A veteran of the US Army, he was a Christian and a very noble man.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors included his mother, Jo Ann Stanley of Kingsport; father, Robert Carrol Stanley of Brownsville, TX; sons, Brian Stanley of Knoxville, Dustin Stanley and wife Ashley of Kingsport, Austin and Jacob; sister, Teresa Sturgill of Blountville; brother, Robert Stanley and Linda of Bristol, the mother of his children, Cheryl Stanley and Neil McCann, TN along with several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Mountain Home National cemetery in Mountain Home, TN conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Gate City Post #265 and the TN National Guard with Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the home of Cheryl Stanley, 151 Valley Drive, Blountville, TN.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley Family at P.O. Box 1129, Kingsport, TN 37662.

Jon Rasnick
Chuckey, TN - Jon Stephen Rasnick, age 50, Chuckey, TN, passed away on Saturday (April 19, 2008).
Born in Kingsport, Jon had lived in this area all of his life. He was owner of Moody Electric, Precious Property Organic Farms and had also worked for Jarvis Reality and Arcadia Graphics. Jon also served on the Kingsport Electrical Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Charlotte Robinette Rasnick.
Mr. Rasnick is survived by his daughter, Carmen Rasnick; son, Zac Rasnick; sister, Jane Shaffer and husband, Joe; special nephew, Brett Shaffer; several other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Chip and David.
A remembrance service will be conducted 6 p.m. Friday (April 25, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport with Joe Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the remembrance service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, Association-Tenn, 208 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601 and TN Baptist Adult Home, PO Box 728, Brentwood, TN 37024.

Pamela E. McCurry
Pamela Elaine McCurry, 60, passed away on (April 21, 2008) after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 30, 1947.
Pam was predeceased by her father, the Reverend Frank R. McCurry; her maternal grandfather, Kelly C. Fields; her paternal grandparents, J. A. and Mattie McCurry; her uncles, Jack McCurry, and Lester McMillan; her aunts, Dorothy McCurry Buchanan, Frances McCurry Dean and Eula McCurry McMillan; and her former husband, John Randall Richmond.
Left behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are her mother, Joan Fields McCurry; grandmother, Lois Culbertson Fields; two sisters, Belinda Hawk and Donna Starnes; her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph A. and Tracy McCurry; one nieces and her husband, Joni and Brian Haynes; and four nephews, Meredith Hawk, Tyler McCurry, Michael McCurry, and Corbin Haynes.
Pam graduated from Lynn View High School in 1967. She married in 1969 and traveled with her husband through his tours of duty in the Marine Corp to Richmond, VA, Paris Island, SC, Hawaii, and Jacksonville, FL.
For the last several years she was the pianist at Bethany Baptist Church in Jonesborough, TN and for the Bethany Quartet. She was employed with Wal-Mart when she became ill.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (April 23, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. with Rev. Joe W. Byrd and Rev. Jerry Keasling officiating. Music will be provided by Sharon Martin.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday (April 24, 2008) at Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelly Wayne Strickler, Steven Dean, Brian Haynes, Dennis McMillan, Ron Morrison, and Meredith Hawk. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.

Ruth Kern Baldwin
Virginia Ruth Kern Baldwin
Kingsport – Ruth Kern Baldwin, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Thursday April 17, 2008 at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, VA (Fort Blackmore) and had made her home in Kingsport since 1962. Ruth attended Walnut Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray Baldwin; daughter, Mary Lucille Kern Neil; parents, Andrew Lee Kern, Sr. and Mary Ellen Wallen Kern; sisters, Odessie Viola Kern, Martha Jane Kern, and Beulah Pyle; brothers, Joe Neal Kern, Shelah Kern, Charlie Kern, Andrew Kern Jr., and Jasper Kern.
She is survived by her special friends, Jerlene and Gilbert Rexrode, Kingsport; nephew, Charles Kern and wife Kris; along with several great nieces.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday April 21, 2008 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Travis Boling and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Alvin Goins Singers. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

David Ramey
David Ramey, age 55, of Kingsport passed away Thursday (April 10, 2008) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and he also loved coon hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Pearl Lane Ramey.
David is survived by his wife, Sherry Sluss Ramey, of the home; daughter, Sharon Ramey, Kingsport; sons, Bronson Ramey, James Ramey and wife, Lisa, both of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Isaiah Ramey, Matthew Ramey, Emma Ramey, and Luke Quillen; sisters, Inez Isley, Bell Ferguson, Annalee Cathy, Bonnie Fonseca, Martha Beverly, Linda Robenson, and Margie Sloan, all of Kingsport; brother, James Ramey, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday (April 11, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday (April 12, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Don Madden, and Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Music will be provided by True Faith Quartet and Charity Duet.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Donna Kay Tipton Wheelock
Donna Kay Tipton Wheelock
Donna Wheelock passed away Friday, (April 4, 2008) at her home in Chicago, IL after an extended illness. She would have been 56 on Saturday, April 5th.
Donna was preceded in death b her parents, Enoch and Thelma Tipton.
She is survived by her immediate family, Terry Wheelock; daughter, Heather Wheelock, and son Terry Wheelock, II. She leaves her brothers, Steve Tipton and wife, Vickie, Jerry Tipton, her twin, Dennis Tipton, and Jeff Tipton.
She graduated from Ketron High School in 1971. Donna had resided in various states from the east coast to the west coast. She was adept homemaker and loved traveling and spending time with her children.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport served the Wheelock family by making all arrangements in Chicago, IL.

Zelma Bell
Zelma Fawn Bell, age 100 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Monday (April 7, 2008) at Wexford House Following a brief illness.
Born in Cuba, IL, Mrs. Bell had lived there for most of her life. She had recently moved to Kingsport where she made her home with her granddaughter, Sue Hyatt and husband, Carl. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, and was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Bell; daughters, Donna Hazelhurst, and Helen Ferchau; one sister and five brothers.
Zelma is survived by her grandchildren, Ryki Hazelhurst, Sue Hyatt, Dawn Hoffman, Tom Hazelhurst, Candy Hazelhurst, Mike Ferchau, and Marc Ferchau; great grandchildren, Marc Hyatt, Fawn Coger, Tommy Hazelhurst, Sherry Hazelhurst, Brandi Hazelhurst, Ray Hoffman, Bruce Hoffman, Scott Hoffman, Thomas Hazelhurst, Michael Hazelhurst, Lori Wilkens, Jennifer Ferchau, Meridith Ferchau, Paige Ferchau, and Christian Ferchau; great-great grandchildren, Angel Marie Coger, Kyler Coger, Jazmine Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Samantha Hoffman, Saige Hoffman, Skyler Hoffman, Grace Wilkens, and Julia Wilkens.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her special friend, Sheryl Rochester and the staff of wing 100 and 500 at Wexford House.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Cuba, IL.

Alma Lyon Vaughn
Kingsport - Alma Lyon Vaughn, age 81 of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly Monday (April 7, 2008) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Hawkins County, TN (St. Clair) and lived in Middletown, Ohio for over 46 years. Alma moved to Kingsport 15 years ago and attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She attended Lincoln Memorial University.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Vaughn; parents, Neil and Celeste Pickering Lyon; and sister, Kathryn Huff.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Oglesby, Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday (April 9, 2008) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Edward J. Mills, III officiating. Music will be provided by Louise Ammons.
Burial will follow at McKinney cemetery in Rogersville with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Kingsport, 2141 Idle Hour Road, Kingsport, TN 37660, Welmont Holston Valley Hospice House, 130 W Ravine Road, Kingsport, TN 37660 or the donor's choice.
