William Rogan
Kingsport - William Lewis Rogan, 80 of Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2007, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Hawkins County, Tn, Mr. Rogan served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #3382. He was retired from Clinchfield Railroad and attended Victory Baptist Church when health permitted. He was known and loved by many people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Belton Rogan and Ollie (Wills) Rogan; his first wife Cathleen Monroe Rogan; brother, Odell Rogan; brother and sister-in-law, Fayne and Wanda Falin.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pauline Grimm Rogan of the home; nieces and nephews, Donnie Rogan, Gerald Rogan, Vickie Rogan Morris, Tammy Rogan, Rose Rhoton, Sondra Dotson Bridwell, Shirley Dotson, Diana Dotson Fleming and John C. Dotson, III; several other nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Grimm, Stewart and Juanita Grimm, Bill and Linda Starnes, Herbie and Wilma Namendorf; his pets, Punkin and Tiger.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Anderson officiating. Music will be provided by the Dotson Sisters.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday at Bellamy cemetery, (Stanley Valley) with the American Legion Post 3/265 and the TN National Guard performing the rites. Pallbearers will be Fred Falin, Don Fleming, Billy Falin, Donnie Rogan, Chuck Grimm and Bill Starnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Monroe, Ken Starnes, Gerald Rogan, David Falin, Steve Falin and Daniel Falin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Fellowship Church, 401 W. Sullivan Street, Kingsport, TN 37662.

Doris Steffey
Kingsport - Doris Annie (Garrett) Steffey, 56 of Kingsport, Tenn., passed away on Friday, December 14, 2007, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Russell County, Virginia, she had lived in Kingsport for most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents John S. Garrett and Irene (Woods) Overbay; an infant sister; brothers, Vernon Garrett and Willard Garrett.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Phillips and Gabriel Riggs; daughters-of-the-heart, Ashanti and Motoya King; grandson, John Phillips; step-father, Clarence Overbay; sisters, Donna Gillenwater and husband Norman and Patricia Cody and husband Nick; brother, Ruben Garrett and wife Nancy all of Kingsport; special friends, Patricia Morelock, Josh Harvey and Charles Alvis; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday December 18, 2007 at Spiritual Church of Jesus, 1133 Lowell Drive, Kingsport, TN. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Tammy Phillips at 1934 Lowell Drive, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM at the church with eulogies by family and friends. Elijah Woods will provide the music.

Gay Nell Boggs Dingus
Kingsport - Gay Nell Boggs Dingus, 81 of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday (December 12, 2007) at her residence, following an extended illness.
Gay Nell was born in Derby, Virginia, and moved to this area at an early age. She was employed by Arcata Graphics for over 17 years, retiring in 1985 from the Bindery Department. She was a Christian, a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church and has gone home to be with the Lord. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Dingus; parents, Charles and Mary Bush Boggs; sisters, Lillie Upchurch, and Ella Mae Large; brother, Charles Boggs.
Gay Nell is survived by her two sons, David Dingus and wife Mary Ann, Kingsport and Sam Dingus and wife Donna, Wichita, KS; grandsons, Casey Dingus and wife Jessika, Matthew Dingus and wife Holly, and Caleb Dingus; great grandson, Ethan Dingus; sister, Joan Morgan, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday (December 14, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe W. Byrd officiating.
Graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

Charles William Carberry
Rogersville - Charles “Chip” William Carberry, 63, of 106 Petersburg Road went to be with the Lord early Monday morning (December 10, 2007) at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Kingsport where he lived the majority of his life. Charles retired from Holston Valley Medical Center with 40 years of service. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church in Kingsport. “Chip” was an avid ham operator and loved to watch wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh & Jamie McCracken Carberry along with his infant brother, Paul Blaine Carberry.
Charles William Carberry is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Mamie (Gerry) Gibson Carberry; a sister, Diane Carberry (Kingsport, TN); his brother, James Carberry (Piney Flats, TN); his six wonderful sisters-in-law; a special nephew, Randy Frost along with several additional nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (December 12, 2007) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence, 106 Petersburg Road, Apt. # 32, Rogersville, TN.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday (December 12, 2007) in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Bussell and Rev. Jim English officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday (December 13, 2007) at Double Springs Church cemetery at 11 a.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Evelyn Buckingham Alley
Evelyn Buckingham Alley, age 77 went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday (December 11, 2007) at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Tenn (Kingsport). She was employed at Rental Uniform Co. from 1956 thru 1984 and retired with over 28 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Emerson M. Alley; parents, R.E. Buckingham and Rosa Belle Hammett Buckingham; three sisters, Lucy Cox, Mescal Smith, and Venice Yates Lane; and brother, Lee K Buckingham.
Evelyn is survived by her two nieces, Jerrie Bevington, Seattle, WA and Carolyn L. Smith, Kingsport; four nephews, Larry W. Yates and wife Barbara, Canton, OH, Rev. Bob Yates and wife Shirley, Kingsport, James T. Yates, Logan, OH, and Larry Manis, Kingsport; and sister-in-law, Lowelle "Lola" Manis, Kingsport.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday (December 14, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday with Rev. Bob Yates officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Bob Yates.
Entombment services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to Wellmont Hospice and personal caregivers.

Kingsport – Hal Henry Bond, 50, went to be with the Lord Saturday, (December 8, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Minnie P. Bond.
He is survived by his wife Vickie M. Bond, Kingsport; daughters, Kimberly Allene Hedger, London, KY; Ashley Askins, Barbourville, KY, step-daughter, Amanda Walters, Chesapeake, VA, Allana Warren, Mt. City, TN; sons, Hal Henry Hedger, Jr., London, KY, Andrew Walters, Hampton, TN; step-sons, Michael J. Hedger, Cincinnati, OH, Brandon F. Hedger, Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Emma Marie Wallter, Hampton, TN; sisters, Elizabeth Bray, New Carlisle, Oh, Janet Walters, Cincinnati, OH, Barbara Wells, Cincinnati, OH; brothers, William Bond, Cincinnati, OH, Larry Bond, Coburn, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 11a.m. to 1p.m. Friday (December 14, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Flats Church cemetery, Scott County, VA. Pallbearers will be Larry Bond, Stan Black, Wayne Walters, Larry W. Bond, and Johnny Walters.

Alice Charline Harville Woods
Mooresburg - Alice C. Harville Woods, age 33 went to be with the Lord Friday (December 7, 2007) at the Morristown Hamblen Hospital.
She was a member of Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church and former member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Cherokee High School.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elum Harville; brother, Tim Harville; niece, Angel Woods; grandfather, John H. Woods; grandparents, Rev. Gus & Laura Belle Harville, and Louis & Dolly Purkey.
Alice is survived by her husband, Michael A. Woods, Mooresburg, Tenn; mother, Edna Harville, Mooresburg; sister, Minnie “Sue” Watkins and husband Donnie, of White Pine; brother, William Charles Harville and wife Christina, Mooresburg; 6 nieces; 3 nephews; several aunts and uncles; and special friends, Barney and Racheal Helton, Mooresburg.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (December 10, 2007) at Higher Ground Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins, and Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating. Music will be provided by Glory Land Trio and Elijah Woods.
Graveside services will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dewey Crigger, Johnny Conkin, Tim Baker, James Woods, Buford Ray, and Travis Baker.

Christine Melissa Cummings, 88 born in Roda, Virginia passed away Tuesday morning (December 4, 2007) following an extended illness.
