Pauline Bledsoe
KINGSPORT - Pauline Jones Bledsoe, 89 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Wexford House following a long illness.
Born in Dungannon, VA, Mrs. Bledsoe had lived in Kingsport since 1942, where she remained active in sunday school and church for more than 58 years. She received the Mother of the Year Award from Holy Mountain Baptist Church in 1982. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Bledsoe was preceded in death by her husband, Quillen C. Bledsoe in 1985; her parents, Thomas W. Jones and Amnie Childress Jones; two sisters, Nancy Day and Mary Vermillion; and a brother, Thomas Jones, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bledsoe Crawford; son, Wayne Bledsoe and wife Debbie all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Kristeenia Weaver and husband John of Blountville, Brian Crawford and wife Kelly, Kim Crawford and fiance Chad Gabrielson and Sarah Beth Kerr and husband Linton all of Kingsport; great-grandchildren, Josh Kerr, Johnathan and Hannah Weaver and Blakley and Lana Crawford; sister, Evelyn Brewton and husband Bill of Mobile, AL and brother, Billy Ross Jones and wife Joan of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. Friends may also call anytime at the home of the daughter or son.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM at the church with Dr. Tony Gonzalez and Pastor Jerry Musick officiating. Music will be provided by The McGlothlin Family and The Potters. Pallbearers will be Jim Bishop, Woody Cauldwell, Isaac Hillman, Van Jones, Edgar Roach and Tim Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be O.B. Anderson, Claude Smith, Kit McGlothlin, Bob McGlothlin and Joe Bellamy.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday at Oak Hill cemetery with Dr. Shannon Salyer officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 AM.

Kenneth 'Bo' Campbell
Kingsport - Kenneth "Bo" Campbell, 70, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 12:15 am Tuesday morning, October 31, 2006, at Hillside Manor Health Care following a long illness.
He was a life-long resident of Kingsport and attended First Assembly of God Church on Brandon Lane.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam Campbell, Sr. and Berta Smith Campbell; one brother Kamaill Campbell, and one niece Rochelle Moore.
He is survived by his three sons, Chris Campbell and wife Janet of Georgia, Mark Campbell and wife Louise of Georgia, and Phil Campbell and wife Kerri of Church Hill; five grandchildren; three sisters, Leta Marshall and husband Jay, Pat Galloway and husband Carl, and Gay Nell Smith and husband Wayne; two brothers, Sam Campbell, Jr. and wife Retha, and Jack Campbell all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Mountain Home National cemetery, Mountain Home, TN, with Rev. Tony Marshall, officiating. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery at 9:55 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dogwood Terrace Resident Association, Bowater Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Ella Mae (Payne) Spears Combs
KINGSPORT - Ella Mae (Payne) Spears Combs, 82, of Hopkinsville, KY, departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Bristol Hospice House following a long illness.
She was born in Lee County, VA and lived in Scott County (Spears Ferry) having lived in Bristol for years, she then lived in Chicago, IL, Kentucky and then back to Kingsport, TN. Ella Mae was of the holiness faith. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a friend to all who knew here. She always loved listening to gospel singing and preaching.
She is the daughter of the late Sara Estep Payne. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Robert Harvey Spears; her 2nd husband, Jay Combs; a daughter, Wonda Fay Spears Garst and a sister, Annie Blair.
Surviving is her four daughters, Betty Houck of Dunbar, WI, Mary Jane Combs and husband Bill of Hopkinsville, Ky., Bertha Monday and husband Howard of Kingsport and Imogene Wynegar and husband Ray of Kingsport; three sons, James Harvey Spears and wife Katrina of Orangeburg, SC, Denny Ray Spears and wife Virginia Nicklesville, VA, and David Spears and wife Jeanie of Kingsport; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; special friends, Barbara Hooven, Helen Persinger, Juanita Grimms, Jeanie Spears and all the staff of Bristol Hospice House.
Calling hours are from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or friends may call anytime at the home of her daughter, Bertha Monday, 5849 Orebank Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marvin Winkle, Rev. Joe Gillenwater and Rev. Charlie Wallen, officiating. Music will be provided by the Winkle Family.
Graveside services will follow in Glenwood cemetery, Bristol, TN. Pallbearers will be Robbie Bishop, Billy Winkle, Henry Peters, Johnny Sims, Bob Desautels, J.W. Rogers, J.J. Jackson and Palmer Cumbo

Geraldine Jo (Grissom) Hoppers
Kingsport - Geraldine Jo (Grissom) Hoppers, 75, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly, on Friday, October 27, 2006, at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, Sevierville, TN.
She was a life long resident of Sullivan Co., (Kingsport) and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd F. and Cora Parker Grissom and several sisters and brother.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll C. Hoppers of the home; daughter, Lois Ann Hayes and husband Rodney of Kingsport; her sister, Edith Smith; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Rhoton, Barbara Trent and husband Jack and Janice Sims and husband Joe; brother-in-law, Rick Hoppers; a special niece, Cora Lane all of Kingsport and several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm Monday, October 30, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or friends may call anytime at the home of her daughter, 1101 Shipp Street, Kingsport.
Entombment services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Kingsport, with Pastor Wayne Baker, officiating. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Willard H. Beverly
KINGSPORT - Willard H. Beverly, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, October 26, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Coeburn, VA, Willard had been a resident of Kingsport for most of his life He was a well known contractor and homebuilder in the Kingsport area and managed Beverly Apartments unitil his recent illness. Willard was a member of Heritage First Church of God and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by by his parents, A. L. and Thelma Williams Beverly and a brother, Marshall Beverly.
Surviving is his loving wife of 66 years, Emma "Jean" Parker Beverly of the home; two daughters, Sharon May and husband Donald of Beaufort, S.C. and Teresa Skipper and husband Harry of Garden City, S.C.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Willard and Nichóle Parker; two great grandchildren, Alliyah Willard and Emma Madison Parker; two brothers, Vernoy Beverly and wife Ruth and Mayson Beverly all of Kingsport, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 2 - 4 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 30, 2006 at Heritage First Church of God, with Pastor Steve Tilley, officiating. Music by Mark Stayton. Mr. Beverly will lie in state one hour before the service.
Graveside services will follow in the East Lawn cemetery, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be George Bruner, Gene Tittle, Jeff Beverly, Ralph Parker, Jr., Don LaFerney and Scott Gentry.

Robert Eugene Epps, Sr.
KINGSPORT - Robert "Bob" Eugene Epps, Sr., 69, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at his residence following a long illness.
Born in Hanford, California, Robert had lived in Kingsport for most of his life. He was a truck driver, retiring from USA Truck in 1999 and was a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delmer C. Epps and his mother, Hortense Bentley Epps; step-father, Frank Walker and a sister, Louise Godsey.
Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Julia Haynes Epps of the home; two daughters, Lisa Zaephel of Indianapolis, IN and Robin Epps of Orlando, FL; son, Robert "Rob" Epps, Jr. of Clarksville, TN; step-daughter, Sherri Brooks of Kingsport; step-son, Rob Brooks of Jonesborough; granddaughter, Raven Epps of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Betty Jo Trent of Gray and Patsy Glenn and husband Jim of Kingsport; mother-in-law, Hazel Haynes along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe W. Byrd and Donald Kilday, officiating. Music will be provided by Carol Hackler

Mildred Garst
Fall Branch - Mildred Lane Parker Garst, 75 of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Colonial Hills Healthcare in Johnson City. Born in Scott County, VA, she had lived in the Kingsport area for most of her life. She was retired from Burlington Coat Factory after several years service, where she worked in sales. She was prviously a member of Coomunity United Methodist Church for a number of years, before moving to Fall Branch. She was presently a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Parker and her parents, Curtis and Monnie Herron Lane.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby D. Garst of the home, two daughters, Jeannie Williams and husband Alan of Kingsport and Jo Ann Barrett and husband Pat of Fall Branch. Five grandchildren, Wesley Williams, Eric Williams, Sarah Barker, Matt Barker and Stacey Barrett, brothers, Charles Lane of Texas and L. D. Lane of Blountville and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5-7 PM on Monday April 10, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the home of a daughter at 126 Maxine Road, Fall Branch, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Danny Garst.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday at Holston View cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:55 AM.

Donna McLain Crawford
KINGSPORT - Donna McLain Crawford, 73, of Kingsport, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 16, 2006, after an explosion and fire at her residence, which also took the life of her grandson, Jeffery Crawford.
Born in Greene County, TN, Donna had lived in Kingsport for the past 10 years. She was a member of Riner's Tabernacle Church and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Crawford; her parents, Clarence and Lecta Malone McLain and a granddaughter, Tiffany Crawford.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Crawford and wife Sherry of Rogersville and Jeffery Crawford and Teresa Dorton of Fall Branch; two grandchildren, Jordan and Morgan Crawford; two brothers, Alton McLain and wife Mary of Kingsport and Bud McLain and wife Georgia of Rockford, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM, Wednesday October 18, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Norman Sauceman officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at Brown's Mountain cemetery in Greeneville, TN. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 PM.
