Quillen Clark
Kingsport - Quillen Clark, 66, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2006 at his residence.
He was a resident of Sullivan County (Bloomingdale). He was a graduate of Ketron High School and a member of the Bloomingdale Ruritan Club for many years. Haskell attended Bloomingdale Baptist Church most of his life and was a member of Herman United Methodist Church. He retired from the Bloomingdale Water Department, where he was the Filter Plant Operator for over 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bruce Clark, Sr. and Lillian Quillen Clark; one sister, Anna Lee Clark and two brothers, Bruce Clark, Jr. and Clarence "Pete" Clark.
Surviving are his two sisters, Edna C. Russell of Kingsport and Mildred Bishop of Blountville.; a special niece whom he helped raise and was like a father to her, Kristin Harris and husband Stephen; two special great nephews, Dustin Harris and Dylan Clark Harris both of Kingsport - Dylan was his name sake and Quillen loved them both like they were his own and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2006 in the chapel of Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Rev. Joe W. Byrd, officiating. Music by Vickie and Mack McCall. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Gunning’s cemetery, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be Stephen Harris, Wendell Clark, Joe Hommell, Jack Childress, Anthony Tate, Bryan Clark and Tommy Berry. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Thomas D. Tranbarger
KINGSPORT - Thomas "Tom" D. Tranbarger, 87, of Kingsport, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at his granddaughters home.
Tom was a life long resident of Sullivan and Hawkins counties, and had many loving friends and family members in the area. He owned Tranbarger's Furniture in Kingsport and Tranbarger's Grocery in Mt. Carmel. He was an avid fisherman and also loved church, gardening and UT football.
Tom proudly served in the South Pacific Theater of World War TT and was a Sergeant in the Ordnance Corps of the United Stated Army.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen and his only son, Tommy.
Surviving are his sister, Julia Tompkins of Mount Carmel; daughter in law, Jackie Tranbarger of Kingsport, six grandchildren, Tara Bunch and husband Wes of Kingsport, Tonia Tranbarger Castle of Kingsport, Tasha Tranbarger of Nashville, Kristy Bright of Kingsport and Tia Tranbarger of Kingsport; two great-grandchildren, Tyquia Tranbarger of Kingsport and Tre Tranbarger of Atlanta, GA as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Victor Wallace, officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Burial services will follow at the Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport.

Mary Lee Brooks
KINGSPORT - Mary Lee Brooks, 96, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Brookhaven Manor Healthcare following a long illness.
She was born in Wise Co., VA (Appalachia) and moved to Kingsport in 1973. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles David Brooks; her parents, John and Annis Wright Flanary; a step-daughter, Anna Lee Ocheltree; three sisters, Okie Grindstaff, Blanch Blevins and Vertie Lane and a brother, Orbin Flanary.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Judy Neece; two special nieces, Mary E. Quillen and Nell Hurd; a special nephew, Charles H. Courtney and several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5-7 pm on Thursday, September, 28, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Bob Gibson, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Holston View cemetery, Weber City, VA. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 1:55 pm.

Beatrice Henley Lawson
KINGSPORT - Beatrice Henley Lawson, 83, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center .
Born in Wise Co., VA, Bea had lived in Kingsport for most of her life. She had worked at Eastman and retired from the City of Kingpsort, Department of Education. She was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lawson; her parents, Steve and Frankie Riddle Henley; four sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her son, H. Steve Lawson and wife Fredna of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Anthony Lawson and Rachel of Cordova, TN and Aaron Lawson and Mary Ann of Kingsport; one great-grandaughter, Ashley Lawson along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Parrott, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Tennessee Chapter, Alzheimer's Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN, 37604.

Dinah Jones
KINGSPORT - Dinah Leigh Whetsel Jones, 52, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2006, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Greeneville, TN, Dinah had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole Burgin and her mother, Marie Whetsel
She is survived by her son, Terry Burgin of Kingsport; her two grandchildren, Seth Burgin and Autumn Brown; her two sisters, Kathy Britt and husband Tim and Sarita Gizzi both of Kingsport as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are private.

Ora Moore Harrison
KINGSPORT - Ora Moore Harrison, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Greene Co., TN, Ora had lived in Kingsport most of her life. She was retired from Kingsport City Schools, where she worked in food service. Ora attended Walker's Fork Missionary Baptist Church, sang in the Bays Mountain Quartet and worked in the prison ministry with Rev. Elmo Owens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Verlin "Bob" Harrison; her parents, A.M. and Emma Light Moore; and two brothers, Lee and Ed Moore.
Surviving is her brother, Frank Moore and wife Ingle of Indianapolis, Indiana; a cousin, Fred Moore; special friends, Eula Massey, Rick and Patty Bragg, Sandra Price, Kelly Price, and Ellis Dykes, Jr.; the lights of her life, Nathaniel and Deacon Bragg
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Elmo Owens and Rev. Gaither Townsend, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the Benard cemetery, (Beech Creek Community) Rogersville, TN. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Darien Kindle
KINGSPORT - Darien Lynn Kindle, 4 month old son of Marlina Kindle and Robert Diggs, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Diane Kindle and Donald Durall; maternal great grandmother, Kathleen Jeffers; sister, Harley Crawford; and brother, Donovan Diggs all of Kingsport, as well as, several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call anytime at the home of the grandmother, Diane Kindle at 128 Tranbarger Road in Church Hill, TN.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Wednesday September 27, 2006 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Cormier officiating.
Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:25 AM.

Deborah Crawford
KINGSPORT - Deborah Salyer Crawford, 58, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan Co. (Kingsport). She was an active member of Higher Ground Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lee and Lillian Perry Salyer and her mother-in-law, Freda Huffman Crawford.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry L. Crawford of the home; her daughter, Traci Lindholm of Nashville; her son, Jeff Crawford and wife Shelly of Nashville; four grandchildren, Sarah Crawford, Chelsea Crawford, Lily Crawford, and Jared Lindholm; a brother, Walt Salyer, Jr. and wife Maribeth of Franklin;a very dear friend, Irene Arnold of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 4 - 7 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the church with Dr. Phil Hoskins and Rev. Vic Wallace, officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport. Serving as pallbearers are Jared Lindholm, Tyler Joyce, Matthew Salyer, Richard Hicks, Johnny Crawford and Jason Crawford. It is requested that friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Higher Ground Baptist Church Building Fund, 1524 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, 37665 or to the American Cancer Society, C/ O Wanda Grills, 1217 Radcliffe Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.
