Wilma Conkin Coleman
Kingsport - Wilma Elizabeth (Conkin) Coleman, 89, Kingsport, passed away Saturday (April 14, 2007) at her residence in Kingsport.
She was born in Schuyler County, Mo., a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Mullins) Conkin. Wilma was a resident of Kingsport for most of her life. She was a member of Belvue Christian Church for many, many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Macon H. Coleman; and five sisters, Iva Lee, Hattie, Rose, Laura, and Maude.
She is survived by her son, David Coleman and wife Mary Lee, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Sara Bruce and husband Scott, Knoxville, Mary Ellen Coleman, Chattanooga; two great-grandchildren, Ana Elizabeth Bruce and Sophia Grace Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday (April 16, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may call anytime at the home, 1564 Carolina Avenue, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. John Owston officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday (April 17, 2007) at East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport, Tenn. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Belvue Christian Church, 2700 Center Street, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664.

Wen-Chi Huang
Kingsport - Wen-Chi Huang, 79, Kingsport, Tenn., died Monday (March 26, 2007), at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
He was born in Kwangsi, China, the son of the late Jin and Shyrshyh Huang. He retired from China Air Force and later taught Chinese history in Taiwan, was an author of several books on the history of China, and was also an artist. He moved to Kingsport in 1998.
Wen-Chi was a great and loving husband, father, grandfather, friend to all who knew him, was respected by all and was a great teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Tsuei H. Huang, Kingsport and Taiwan, China; daughter, Chien Ching Huang of Taiwan; son, Tsung Chi Huang, Taiwan, China; three grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Mei Yuan and husband Howard Yuan, Chattanooga, and Tracy Law, Kingsport; and brother-in-law, Chao Lin Lee and wife Jin Lee, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (April 14, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Pastor John Ma officiating.
Music will be furnished by the Chinese Church of the Greater Tri-Cities.
Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
Burial will take place in Taiwan, China

Friel Quesenberry
Kingsport - Friel Aaron Quesenberry, 88 of Kingsport, Tenn., passed away Friday, April 6, 2007, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Wythe County, VA (Peck), Mr. Quesenberry moved to Kingsport in the 1930's. He served in the South Pacific, in the U.S. Navy, during WWII as a Seabee. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the VFW and a 50-year plus member of the Masonic Lodge #193 in Hillsville, VA. He was also a Boy Scout leader and avid sports fan. Mr. Quesenberry was a road supervisor for Mason-Dixon Truck Lines, retiring after over 45 years service. He was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church where he was a member of Dobyns Men's Bible Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malchi and Mary (Turman) Quesenberry; three sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Clara Bolt Quesenberry of the home; daughter, Sharon Q. Flowers of Greenville, GA; son, Richard Quesenberry of Manchester, GA; grandchildren, Leon "J.J." Palmer and Joshua Flower; great-grandchild, Lexie Palmer; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday (April 9, 2007) at First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport, with Rev. Jack Edwards and Rev. Jack Weikel officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
The body will be taken to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Inc. 1035 N Main Street, Hillsville, VA where the family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM on Tuesday. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Masonic Lodge #193 of Hillsville, at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Quesenberry Family cemetery in Sylvavus, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1346, Kingsport, TN 37662.

Willard O'dell Garrett
Kingsport - Willard O'dell Garrett, 53, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday (April 2, 2007), at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a retired concrete finisher. He was a kind and gentle man who loved the outdoors, fishing and jigsaw puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Woods Garrett; wife, Linda Garrett; and brother, Vernon Garrett.
Willard is survived by his daughter, Linda M. Pyrtle and husband Scotty, Francisco, N.C.; two sons, Kenneth O. Garrett and wife April, John A. Garrett, both of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Austin and Autom Williams, Destiny and Dakota Garrett, Ethan Garrett and Tyler Gardner; two sisters, Doris Steffey, Donna Gillenwater, both of Kingsport; one brother, Ruben Garrett and wife Nancy, Kingsport; step-father, Clarence Overbay, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (March 4, 2007) at the Civic Auditorium in Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday (March 5, 2007) at 2:00 p.m. at Old Kingsport cemetery, Kingsport.

Donald Rasnake
Kingsport - Donald Curtis Rasnake, Sr., 70, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, TN and was owner and operator of Don's Garage (Bloomingdale Pike). He was a member of the Kingsport Eagles Club for over 35 years and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Rasnake and Causby Ann Murdock Rasnake; three sisters, Myrtle Rasnake, Agnes Pierce and Ellen Tittle and one brother, Braidy Rasnake.
Surviving are his three daughters, Chris, Diane and Donna; three sons, Donnie, Pat and Ottie; several grandchildren; six sisters, Easter Smith, Hazel Rasnake, Eura Gibson, Betty Thacker, Jane Barnette, and Vivian Cox; a special neighbor and friend, Rosa Groves along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Johnny Gibson and Rev. Pat Rasnake, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Gunnings cemetery, Blountville, TN. It is requested that the family and friends meet at the cemetery by 9:55 am.

Nancy Louise Hutchins
Kingsport - Nancy Louise Hutchins, 75, of Kingsport, passed away at 8:15 pm on Friday (May 5, 2006) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nancy was a member of Victory Apostolic Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Sue Hutchins on May 1, 2006.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kathy Smith and husband Bill, Clara Necessary and husband Jackie; her son, Billy Hutchins all of Kingsport; 8 grandchildren, Billy, Bennie, Kim, Angela, Brian, Jackie Sue, Crystal and Tammy; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Vernie of Kingsport along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or anytime at the home of her daughter, Clara Necessary, 608 Bell Ridge Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Hagan Webb and Rev. Clarence Webb, officiating. Music will be provided by the Bowman Family.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Old Kingsport Presbyterian cemetery. Pallbearers will be R.C. Simpson, Gillis LeBlanc, Ken Johnson, Lynn Steffey, Brian Rogers and Larry Rogers. Is is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Connie Sue Hutchins
Kingsport - Connie Sue Hutchins, 50, of Kingsport, passed away at 1:30 pm on Monday, (May 1, 2006) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Kingsport, , she lived here all of her life. Connie was a member of Victory Apostolic Church. She loved her family, attending church ans was loved by all her chuch family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Hutchins.
Surviving are her Mother, Louise Hutchins of the home; sisters, Kathy Smith and husband Bill and Clara Necessary and husband Jackie; brother, Billy Hutchins all of Kingsport; eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport or anytime at the home of her sister, Clara Necessary, 608 Bell Ridge Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Hagan Webb and Rev. Clarance Webb, officiating. Music provided by the Bowman Family.

Velma Begley
Kingsport - Velma Allen Begley, 83, of Kingsport, graduated to her heavenly home on Saturday, (April 29, 2006) on her 83rd birthday.
Born in Hawkins County, she had resided in Kingsport since she was five years old. Mrs. Begley was a member of the West View Baptist Church, where she taught SUnday School for almost 49 years.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gerald R. Begley, former pastor of West View Baptist Church; her son, Gerald D. Begley; daughter in law, Elizabeth Sue Bays Begley and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Brooks Hain.
Surviving are her son, Terry Begley and wife Connie of Kingsport; her daughter, Cathy Quillen and husband Bobby; five grandchildren, Phil Begley and wife Traci, Jody Begley and wife Susan, Amy Begley Hain and husband Scott, Kent Begley and Holly Quillen and fiancee Jeremy Underwood; six great- Grandchildren, Blake Begley, Beau Begley, Jackson Begley, Sydney Begley, Kate Hain and Sam Hain; her brother, Kermit Allen; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday, May 1, 2006 from 4 - 7 pm at West View Baptist Church, 1037 Fairview Avenue, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Stout, officiating.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 11 am on Tuesday. Those wishing to attend should plan to meet the family at Oak HIll at 10:55 am. Pallbearers will be her son, son-in-law, grandsons, grandson-in-law, and great-grandsons.
