Annie M. Parris
Kingsport - Annie M. Rayburn Parris, 74, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday (April 28, 2006) at Brookhaven Manor, Kingsport.
Born in Mississippi and lived in Kingsport most of her life. She was a United Methodist Church member.
Annie was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jane Parris; her parents, John and Annie Rayburn and three brothers.
Surviving are her husband, Don Parris of the home; a daughter, Ivy Jo Michaels and husband Howie of Dayton, Ohil; two sons, Don Parris, Jr. of Fall Branch and Jonathan Soper of Kingsport.; six grandchildren; one great grandson; her mother in law, Sula Britts of Kingsport; a brother, Johnny Rayburn of Atlanta, GA along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service only will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport with Rev. J. Spurgeon McCartt, officiating. It is requested that the family and friends meet at the cemetery by 1:55 pm.

George Jaynes Jr.
Kingsport - George Jaynes, Jr., 74, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Avery Co., North Carolina, George had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He was a self-employed auto mechanic.
Surviving are his daughter, Vivian McKinney of Kingsport; his son, Arnold Jaynes of Salem, MA; two grandchildren, Stefan McKinney and April Garland; two great grandchildren, Jacob McKinney and Patrick Owen Quinn; a sister, Louise Cook of Newland, NC; a brother, Bill Jaynes and wife Georgia of Elizabethton along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 28, 2006 a teh George Mottern cemetery, Elizabethton, TN. Pallbearers are his Family and friends.
It is requested that the family and friends meet at the cemetery by 11:55 am.

Verlin D. Hale
Kingsport - Verlin Dan Hale, 80 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2006 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was retired from the TVA, where he traveled for all of the TVA locations. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Dunn Hale in 2001, three brothers, Carl, Jim and Paul Hale.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Vermillion and husband Carl of Kingsport, Sue Treadway and husband Tim of North Carolina, Shirley Grisham and husband Houston of Kingsport, Wilma Day and husband James of Kingsport, sons, Rodney Hale and wife Judy of Kingsport, Randle Hale and wife Marie of Georgia, Johnny Hale and wife Connie of Kingsport, Wayne Hale and wife Melissa of Georgia, Billy Hale and wife Shanda of Kingsport, and Bobby Hale and wife Summer of Kingsport, twenty-four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, sister, Minnie Dunn and brother, Walter Hale both of Kingsport, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. However, friends may call anytime at the residence at 2804 E. Center Street, Kingsport, TN. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Pactolus cemetery with Pastor Jim Mullins officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at the cemetery at 2:55 PM.

Michael David Pless
Kingsport - Michael Jason Pless, 28 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Alexandria, LA, he had lived in this area since 1987. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a member of Oakwood Forrest Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole Normandeau Pless and daughter, Megan Elizabeth Pless both of the home; his parents, John W. Pless and Sheila Luster Pless of Kingsport; his grandmothers, Lyn Brandmeir of Nashville and Charlene Luster of Kingsport; brother, Danny Pless and wife Stephanie of Johnson City, mother-In-law, Pamela Masterson of Kingsport; sister in law, Melanie Materson of Kingsport; one niece, Savannah Pless and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call at the home of his parents, 1704 Osage Dr., Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10 am on Friday, April 28, 2006, with Marlin Jaynes, Sr. Minister, officiating Music will be provided by Kendall Horton.
Burial will follow in the Sulphur Springs cemetery, Sulphur Springs, TN with Military honors conducted by the VFW Post #3382. Pallbearers will be Jason Normandeau, Landon Maness, Bo Brewer, Danny Hammonds, Travis Sexton and Adi Habul.

Walter "Bud" Shipley
Holiday, FL - Walter Ben "Bud" Shipley, 88, of Holiday, FL, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday (April 20, 2006) at Countryside Healthcare Center in Palm Harbor, Fla following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sullivan County, he had resided in Kingsport for most of his life until he retired and moved to Holiday, Fla., later moving to Countryside. He retired from Eastman Kodak Corporation following over 41 years service. He was a wonderful dad and was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by all of us. He was a member of Golda Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Hattie Shipley; two sisters, Elizabeth Collins and Lochiel Barger; one brother, Edd Shipley; and the mother of his children, Loretta Morrell Shipley.
He is survived by his daughters, Caroletta Hall Stump and husband Ray of Clearwater, Fla., Gloria Jean Carr and husband Wayne of Kingsport and Margaret Carpen and husband Walter of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Thomas Hall and wife Missy of Haltom City, Tx, Kevin Carr and wife Lisa and Ben Carr, all of Kingsport; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Amber, Preston, Larae, Breanna, Brandy, and Brett; one sister, Margaret Ragland; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport Services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tony Gonzalez, officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport with Rev. Carl Strickler, officaiting. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am. Pallbearers will be Ben Carr, Kevin Carr, Thomas Hall, John Mitchell, Tim Grills, Tony Grills and Tommy Grills.

Juanita Weeks
Kingsport - Juanita Weeks, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday ( April 19, 2006), at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Dungannon, VA, Juanita had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life, and was a christian.
Surviving are her daughter, Margie Wagner; her two sons, Eugene Weeks and wife Marla and Robert Weeks all of Kingsport, four grandchildren, five great grandchilden; two great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Estel Talley of Richmond, VA and Doris Sexton of Kingsport; a brother, Everett McCoy of Greeneville along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roy Brickey, officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, April 21, 2006 at the East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery at 10:55 am.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 2nd and 3rd floor nurses at Wilcox Hall (Holston Valley Med Center).

Andy Forbes
KINGSPORT - Andy R. Forbes, age 100 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Glamorgan, VA, he had lived in Kingsport for most of his life. He was a farmer and an active member and supporter of Highland Park Holiness Church for over 80 years and was currently a member of Power Point Ministries. He was retired from Eastman-Holston Defense Corporation after over 31 years service.
Mr. Forbes was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine "Josie" Newman Forbes; a son Donald Lee Forbes; sisters Jennie Penley and Fannie Adkins; brothers David Forbes, Garland Forbes, Harvey Forbes, Morgan Forbes, Lewis Forbes and Simon Forbes, Jr.
He is survived by his sons, James Howard Forbes of Gray, Joseph Paul Forbes of Kingsport, and Andy Forbes, Jr. and wife, Noraine of Harmony; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sally Holliday of Lincoln Park, Mich, Betty Maskewitz of Oak Ridge and Hazel Dolloff of Detroit, Mich; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM, Wednesday December 20, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jack Forbes and Bishop G.D. Peters officiating. Music will be provided by Special Friends, Irene Conkin and Joan Adkins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steven Forbes, Rodney Forbes, Brandon Forbes, James Inabinett, Henry Adkins and Gary Gray. Honorary Pallbearers are Judy Larkin, Bonnie Wilson, Helen Alley, Mary Jones, Toni New, Viola Adams and Vicky Ford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Power Point Ministries, 456 Lenoir Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
The family would like to thank his special caregiver, Margaret Bishop.

Ernest Stewart Hamilton
KINGSPORT - Ernest S. Hamilton, 87, went to join his Lord and Savior, his loving wife Juanita "Daisy" and his son "Jr" Sunday morning at the Mountain Home Veterans Nursing home following a brief illness.
He was born July 24, 1919 in Coeburn VA, on Caney Ridge. He was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the son of the late Rufus and Rachael Hamilton. Five brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II, after which he was employed with W.M. Ritter Lumber Co. Kentucky, serving as CEO for 20 years, after which he was employed with Life of Georgia Insurance Co helping people with their needs until his retirement.
Ernest was an avid gardener, beekeeper, and had a life long love of the great outdoors, he was known in his family as the "master" of the tomatoes. He was a member of American Legion Post #0003 Kingsport, TN, a life member of DAV Chapter 38, 50-year member of United Commercial Travelers of America Kingsport Council #749 and a member of the Kingsport VFW Post #3382.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Kay Culbertson and husband Butch, Betty Skeen: his grandchildren Robin Price and husband David, Becky Mitchell and husband David: his great-grandchildren Ryan Burke, Lindy Jean Ferguson, Kenzie Thomas; David, Zach and Jordy Mitchell; Cortney and Chloe Culbertson: his great-great grandson Brennan Collie. Surviving is one sister Elizabeth Stidham, Florida and one brother Richard Hamilton, St. Paul, VA. : Three sisters-in-law, Florence Click, Mt. Carmel, TN, Liz Beringer and husband Bernie, Gray, TN and Vonda Zieman, Lexington, KY. Several nieces and nephews and numerous friends also survive him.
A celebration of his life's journey will be held from 5 -7 PM Tuesday December 19, 2006 at Carter Trent Funeral Home downtown Kingsport, or anytime at the home of his daughter Linda Culbertson, 2009 Harrison Avenue, Kingsport, TN.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Mountain Home Veterans Nursing Home who took such wonderful and loving care of "Our Dado" in his time of need. Special thanks to the nurses and aides on his ward, they showed such compassion and love for him and the entire family. Thank you so much and may God Bless you all!!

Anthony H. Bradley
Kingsport - Anthony H Bradley, 43 of 516 Sequoyah Drive, passed away at his home on Monday, April 17, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, (who raised him) Willie Estelle Morelock (March 2005).
He is survived by his best friend, David McCready of the home; three brothers, Jerry, Terry and Randy Bradley all of Kingsport; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces; a close friend, DeWayne Cox of Kingsport and his 2 dogs, Foxster and Patchie.
It was Mr. Bradley's wish to be cremated. Memorial service information will be announced later.
