Anthony 'Rick' Rogers
Kingsport - Anthony "Rick" Rogers, 58, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, (May 23, 2006) at his residence following a brief illness.
He was a Vietnam Veteran having fought with the 4th Infantry Division during the 1968 TET offensive in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans and a member of Faith Chapel Church. Rick was a very strong and religious person who anticipated going home to be with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter D. Rogers and a sister, Beverly Cole.
Surviving are his two daughters, Rhonda Johnson and husband Tim of Kingsport and Vickie Bishop and husband David of Church Hill; his son, Rich Rogers of South Carolina; mother, Valarie Rogers of Kingsport; a special granddaughter, Casey Hatley; grandchildren, Justin & Jessica Bishop, Matthew Johnson, Cody Orfield, Alex Rogers and Madison Rogers; his sister, Charlene Weaver and husband Ralph of Blountville; two brother, Mike Rogers and wife Kathy and Larry Rogers and wife Gaye all of Kingsport, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 12 noon -1 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday at Holston View cemetery, Weber City, Va, with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 conducting the rites. Rev. Charles Hicks will also officiate. The American Legion Color Guard will serve as pallbearers.

Abigale Loren Peters
Abigale Loren Peters, 6 month old daughter of Charles Peters and Racheal Brooks, passed away on Tuesday (August 14, 2007) at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents Abigale is survived by her maternal grandparents, Daniel and Barbara Brooks, Kingsport; paternal grandparents, Cecil Peters and Dianne Wills, Greeneville; great grandparents; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held Friday (August 17, 2007) at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill cemetery.

Clarence Dannelly, Jr.
Kingsport – Clarence C. Dannelly, Jr., 89 of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday (August 11, 2007) at Asbury Center (Baysmont) following an extended illness. Born in Eureka, Kansas, Clarence had been a resident of Kingsport since 1950 and was retired from the Eastman Chemical Division where he worked as a chemist.
Survivors include his wife, Jo K. Dannelly of the home; daughters, Bobbie Bishop and husband Jim of Kingsport, Sharon Carter of Kansas and Kathleen Dannelly of Michigan; son, David Dannelly of Alabama; several grandchildren.
At Mr. Dannelly’s request, he was cremated. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday.
A special thanks goes to his caregiver, Joan Robinson and the nursing staff at Baysmont for their wonderful care given during Clarence’s illness.

Jenny Harvey
Virginia “Jenny” Thompson Harvey, 72, Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Friday (August 10, 2007), at SunBridge- Hillside Nursing Home, Kingsport, TN.
Born in Kingsport, TN, she grew up in Bluefield, West Virginia, where she graduated from Beaver High School in 1954. She moved back to Kingsport shortly after her graduation. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Kingsport, where she was a greeter for years. She was a former employee of Giant Food Markets, working in the meat department where she was known as “Peanut”. She retired from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church as a teacher in May 1996 after over 21 years in service.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen H. Thompson; father, Alfred W. Overby, Sr.; mother, Oneida McDermitt.
She is survived by her husband, Ellery Howard Harvey, Kingsport; daughter, Glenda Whitehead, Kingsport; step-son, Greg Harvey and wife Abby, Kingsport; step-daughter, Joretta Morgan and husband Rusty, Kingsport; grandson, Eric Whitehead, Myrtle Beach, SC; step-grandchildren, Chris Harvey and Brittany Morgan, Kingsport; sisters Shirley Lilly, Orlando, FL, and Lois Overbay, Live Oak, FL ; brother, Alfred Overbay Jr., St. Cloud, FL; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Jenny Harvey will be Saturday (August 11, 2007), from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Family and friends may also visit at anytime at the residence of her daughter, 944 Starling Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.
Services will be Saturday, 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. LeRoy Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Melinda Hite.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday (August 12, 2007), at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Northeast Tenn. Chapter, 207 N Boone Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Adventa Hospice Services and the staff at the Hillside-SunBridge Nursing Home.

Gunnard Carlson, Jr
Kingsport - Gunnard Charles Carlson, Jr., 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22, 2006, at Bristol Hospice House following a long illness.
Born in Chicago, IL, Mr. Carlson had resided in Kingsport for the past 11 years. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea and was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gunnard Charles Carlson, Sr. and Evelyn Granso Carlson.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene E. Carlson of the home; his sister, Arlene Page and husband Mack of Clarksburg, KY; his brother, Ronald Carlson of Mill Town, WI; two step-sisters, Phyllis Carey of Las Vegas, NV and step-sister, Pat Carlson of Chicago, IL; three step-brothers, Terry Westman, Ernie Westman, and Bradley Westman all of Chicago, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Walters, officiating.
Military Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Mountain Home National cemetery, Mountain Home, TN conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post # 265. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:55 am.

Bishop "G.D." Peters
Bishop, Granville Delmer “G.D.” Peters, 83, Kingsport went to be with the Lord Sunday (August 5, 2007) following a brief illness at Holston Valley Medical Center.
G. D. Peters became pastor of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church September 7, 1952, having served as co-pastor for eight months prior to that date.
Bishop Peters was ordained April 5, 1952, by Bishops L. A. Parent, M. M. Hudson, and B. M. David in Miami, Florida, at the midwinter conference of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. He had served the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ in the following offices: Chairman of the Southeastern District for eight years, National Sunday School Director for four years, and Assistant General Chairman for four years.
Bro. Peters was the first chairman of the International Apostolic Fellowship, chartered in 1969, and was presently serving as Bishop. He helped form, and became a trustee of, the Apostolic World Christian Fellowship in 1970. Today, over ninety organizations have come together for fellowship with over 10, 000 ministers. Bishop Peters was chairman of the Missionary Arm of the AWCF and has been on every continent of the world.
He was educated in Scott County, Virginia, and Sullivan County, Tennessee. He finished High School after WWII at East Tennessee State University, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Indiana Bible College on May 22, 1983, a Honorary Doctorate’s Degree in Theology on September 5, 1987, and a Doctorate of Theology Degree on June 7, 1996 Parkersburg Bible College.
Bishop Peters was preceded in death by his parents, J. Patton and Hattie Hammond Peters; sister, Velma Forbes; brothers, Roy Peters, Malcom Peters, and Harold “Pete” Peters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 wonderful years, Lou Culberson Peters, of the home; daughters, Jewel Baker and husband, Stephen, Kingsport, and Gloria Livingston and husband, Dean, Blountville; sons, David Peters and wife, Cindy, Kingsport, Jonathan Peters, Blountville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman Peters, Kingsport, Rayford Peters, Bristol, Tenn, and Virgil Peters, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday (August 7, 2007) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Apostolic Lighthouse, Shipp Springs Road, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (August 8, 2007) at 4 p.m. at Apostolic Lighthouse, with Bishop Billy McCool, Bishop Dean Livingston and Lighthouse Elders officiating. Music will be provided by Lighthouse singers, and Shana Livingston.
An entombment service will be conducted following the funeral service at Oak Hill Mausoleum with The Lighthouse Ministry serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Denny Livingston, Chris Baker, Brandon Peters, Erik Peters, Jeff Davis, and Rev. Spencer McCool, Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be made to Lighthouse Christian School at P.O. Box 4158, Kingsport, Tenn. 37665. The school was founded as dream of Bishop Peters.

Jesse David "J.D." Hagy
Jesse David “J.D.” Hagy, 54, Kingsport went to be with the Lord, Thursday (August 2, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a heart attack.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, (Kingsport) and attended Dobyns Bennet High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and attended Evangel Family Worship Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Carson Hagy; and brother-in-law, Bobby House.
J.D. is survived by his mother, Nealy Roberts Hagy, Kingsport; sisters, Patricia A. Sells and husband Mark, Kingsport, Gail Newland and husband Mike, Church Hill, and Becky House, Kingsport; brothers, Pastor James Hagy and wife Penny, and Jeffrey Hagy both of Kingsport; very special aunt, Mary Fergins, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; special great niece, Lilly; and special great nephew, Tristal.
Calling hours will be Tuesday (August 7, 2007) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Hagy and Pastor David Townsend officiating.
A military graveside service will be conducted Wednesday (August 8, 2007) at 10 a.m. at Mountain Home National cemetery with American Legion Post 3/265, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplin. Pallbearers will be the American Legion Color Guard and honorary pallbearers will be Mark Sells, Don Coeburn, Daniel House, Mike Newland, Jake Sells, Andrew Hagy, Nicholas Sells, Joe Newland and Bobby Dezarn.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be made to Evangel Family Worship Center, at 1318 East Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37664.
The family would like to especially thank all the close family members, including aunts and cousins who provided food and support in our time of loss.

Belva Ramey
Belva Mae (Mullins) Ramey, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, (August 01, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.
She was born in Wise County, Va. and had lived in Kingsport since she was 21 years old. She attended Oak Glen Baptist Church (Yuma, VA).
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Etta Mullins; sister, Mary Gragg; brothers, Ewing Mullins, Virgil Mullins.
She is survived by her husband of 61 1/2 years, Rev. Robert L. Ramey, of the home; daughter, Dinah Freeman, and husband Alvin, Kingsport, sons, Jimmy “Jim” Ramey and wife Faye, Kingsport, Gary W. Ramey, Kingsport; four grandsons, Chris Ramey, Josh Ramey, Tyler Ramey, Grant Ramey; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Baxter; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla Ramey, Caden Ramey, Barrett Baxter; sister, Marie Cornett, Jonesville, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday (August 2, 2007) from 4 till 7 p.m. at Carter- Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Strong and Pastor Danny Sykes officiating. Music will be provided by Oak Glen Choir and Oak Glen Trio.
Entombment services will be conducted Friday 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Davenport, Norman Wilson, Larry Riddle, Reagan Riddle, Mike Riddle, and Jeff Tolliver. Friends and family who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Glen Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O Box 158, Gate City, Va. 24251.
