Zella Mae "Boss" Droke
Kingsport - Zella Mae "Boss" (Hite) Droke, 94, Kingsport, went to be with her family in Heaven on Tuesday (June 5, 2007) at Church Hill Health Care in Church Hill, Tenn. following a brief illness.
Boss was a lifelong resident of Kingsport (Rock Springs community), and was retired from Eastman Kodak following 42 years of service. She was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Droke; and two sisters, Norma Williams and Ruth Scism.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (June 7, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Joseph Manis and Rev. Regina Shelton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday (June 8, 2007) at East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Springs UMC Building Fund, 227 Church View Drive, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664, or to the charity of one's choice.

John Robinette, Sr.
Kingsport - John Wesley Robinette, Sr., 82, Kingsport, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday (May 29th, 2007) after complications from pneumonia.
He was born September 11, 1924 in Appalachia, Va. and had resided in Kingsport most of his life. He served our country in the U. S. Air Force in World War II, was a truck driver and auto mechanic for 40 years. He was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church and attended Higher Ground Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents, William Wesley and Easter (Maness) Robinette; brothers Bill, Charlie, Earnest, Owen, and Earl; sisters, Ethel, Ruth, Madge, Maxie, and Ella.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, JoAnn (Wheat) Robinette of the home; daughter, Libby Weatherly and husband Anthony, Knoxville, TN; son, John Robinette, Jr. and wife Kristin, Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Bekah Rose, Zeke and Seth; sister, Louise Vicars, Nickelsville; several nieces and nephews; and special buddy, Jake.
Calling hours will be Thursday (May 31, 2007) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Phil Hoskins, Dr. Tony Gonzalez, and Dr. Shannon Salyers officiating.
Military Graveside services will be conducted Friday (June 1, 2007) at 12 noon at Oak Hill cemetery with American Legion # 3, # 265 and Tennessee National Guard will be performing the rights. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:55 a.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Rose, Norman Carter, Randy Osborne, Ronnie McPherson, Claude McPherson, Jr., Tim Gammon, Jack Fleming, and Crew and Friends from McDonalds.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Higher Ground Baptist Church (building fund) at 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, TN 37665.

Dan "Mr. Dan" Gibson
Kingsport - Dan "Mr. Dan" Gibson, 68, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
Mr. Dan was born in Kingsport, where he had lived all of his life. He taught Sunday School for 25 years, volunteered at Johnson School and was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Gibson .
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Gibson of the home; mother, Louise Ball Gibson of Kingsport; sister, Barbara Pryor and husband Howard of Monroe, GA; brother, James E. Gibson and wife Ruth of Lincolnton, NC along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1238 Pine Street, Kingsport, TN 37664. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the church with Pastor Frank Crawford, officiating. Music will be provided by Crosswise.
Entombment services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Oak Hill Mausoleum, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be the Members of Calvary Baptist Church. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery at 10:55 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.

Helen Gay Burk
Kingsport - Helen Gay Burk, 56, Church Hill, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday (May 28, 2007) at Residence in Church Hill, Tenn.
Born in Bath, N.Y., she had lived here since an early age. She was a graduate of Ketron High School and was a graduate of Bill Wampler Hair Design School. She owned and operated her own business for over 30 years. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Glen Ratliff; one sister, Margaret Ratliff Bellamy; and one brother, Robert "Bobby" Ratliff.
She is survived by her husband, James H. "Jay" Burk, of the home; two sons, Jamie Burk and wife Shannon, Sanford, N.C., and Ronnie Burk, Church Hill, Tenn.; mother, Thelma Salyer Ratliff, Church Hill, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Macy Kaye Burk, Bailey Burk, and Taylor Burk; three sisters, Glenda Evjen, Roanoke, Va., Barbara Ratliff, Kingsport, Tenn., and Patrica Hart, Church Hill, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (May 30, 2007) at Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the church, with Pastor Dr. Phil Hoskins and Rev. David Foster officiating.
Music will be provided by Bo Stewart.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday (May 31, 2007) at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery at 11:55 a.m. Thursday.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Hayes, Bobby Burk, Eric Rolland, Jason Gray, Chase Hart, Doug Price, Robbie Ratliff, and Matthew Evjen.

Vernon L. Milan
Kingsport - Vernon L. Milan, 70, Blountville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 24, 2007) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
He was born in Mississippi and spent most of his life in Florida before moving to this area in Oct., 2004. He was retired from Florida Rock Industries as a drag line operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus Enlow and Annie Mae Foster Milan.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Bledsoe Milan, of the home; two daughters, Kertrina Milan, of North Carolina, and Anita Gifford and husband Delbert, of North Carolina; son, Vernon Milan, Jr., Surgoinsville; six grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Edwards and Doris Whitt, both of Mississippi; brother, Tom Milan, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday (May 27, 2007) at the home, 352 Boozy Creek Road, Blountville, Tenn. 37617.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the home, with Rev. Greg DePriest officiating.

Jack Mosley
Imperial Beach, Calif. - Jack L. Mosley, 58, Imperial Beach, Calif., went to be with the Lord on Sunday (May 20, 2007) at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego, Calif.
Mr. Mosley was born in Sullivan County, Tenn. and lived in California since he was 16 years old. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Dona (Christian) Mosley; and a brother, Robert Mosley.
He is survived by his sister, Rosetta Bridwell and husband Larry, Gray, Tenn.; four brothers, John Mosley, Kingsport, Tenn., Patton Mosley and wife Sue, Kingsport, Tenn., Ernie Mosley and wife Betty, Blountville, Tenn., and Everette Mosley, Kingsport, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday (May 26, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Michael Baird officiating.
Music will be provided by Larry Bishop and New Grace.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday (May 27, 2007) at Holston View cemetery, Weber City, Va.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

James Ray Bingham
Kingsport - James Ray "Jimmy" Bingham, 62, Kingsport, Tenn. (Orebank community), went to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 17, 2007) at his residence in Kingsport, Tenn. following a brief illness.
James was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He had been a roofer all his life and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He attended Mt. Vernon Independent Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beatrice Hite Bingham; and brothers, Johnny Bingham and Christopher Bingham.
He is survived by his wife, Ama Lee Bingham, of the home; two sons, James Kenneth Bingham, Kingsport, and Chad Bingham and wife Patricia, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Marjorie Bingham, Valerie Bingham, Brittany Bingham, and Chad Bingham, Jr.; one sister, Tina Bingham, Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday (May 19, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (May 20, 2007) in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Grady Lee officiating.
Music will be provided by the Singers of Mt. Vernon Independent Methodist Church, Kingsport.
Burial will follow at Old Kingsport cemetery, Kingsport, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Gary Smith, Dave Brooks, Danny Caldwell, David Caldwell, Scott Bingham, Al Bingham, Willie Bartley, and Dennis Gent.
