Lida Holley
Lida Lee (Widner) Holley, 69, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, (May 17, 2007), at the Wexford House following a brief illness. She was a life-long resident of Kingsport, and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Holley; parents, Garnie and Nannie Combs Widner; brothers, Billy Widner, and Ronald “Ye” Widner.
Lida is survived by her two sisters, Linda Widner and John Marshall, Clara Brooks both of Kingsport; brother, Bob Widner, of Spring Valley, Oh.; two sister-in-laws, Wilma Widner, of Moraine, Oh., Thelma Widner, of Charleston, SC; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, and friends at Friendship Manor.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday (May 19, 2007) at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the home of her sister, Linda Widner, 1904 Sweetbriar Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Hammonds officiating. Music will be provided by Elijah Woods.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday (May 20, 2007) at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill cemetery.

Donna A. Cole
Kingsport - Donna A. (Francis) Cole, 61, Kingsport, Tenn., entered eternal life on Wednesday (May 9, 2007).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Cole; parents, William and Blanche (Arquiette) Francis; and granddaughter, Chrissi Edwards.
She is survived by her six children, 12 grandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday (May 12, 2007) at her home.
A memorial service will be held at her home at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

David Lee King, Jr.
Colfax, La. - David Lee King, Jr., 65, Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday (May 5, 2007) at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home in Colfax, La.
Born in Sullivan County, Tenn., he was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his father, David Lee King, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Virginia Barger King, Kingsport, Tenn.; and two brothers, Joseph H. King, Collierville, Tenn., and Thomas W. King, Kingsport, Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday (May 9, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 3 and the TN National Guard at 11 a.m. on Thursday (May 10, 2007) at Oak Hill cemetery, Kingsport, Tenn. Family will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be sent to the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee, 9050 Executive Park Drive, Suite 104-A, Knoxville, Tenn., 37923.

Thelma Jeanette Laney
Thelma Jeanette (Smith) Laney, 62, of Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday (April 30, 2007) at her residence following a long illness.
Born in Pennington Gap, VA (Lee County) Thelma had been a resident of Kingsport for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Matilda Smith; two brothers, Paul Ray Smith and Lewis Smith; sister, Pauline Clark; and one grandson, Thomas Henry Laney, Jr.
Thelma is survived by her husband, R. J. Laney of the home; daughters, Kathy Laney Tomlin, Kingsport, Lisa Laney Lane and husband Denny, Fall Branch; sons, Thomas Henry Laney and wife Penny, Mark Anthony Laney both of Kingsport; grandchildren, Denny Lane, Sarah Lane, T. J. Laney, Makenna Laney; great grandchildren, Tyler Crawford, Layton Lane; sister, Hazel Clark; brothers, Roy "Buck" Smith and wife Stella, Painesville, OH, Billy Smith and wife Nellie, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Kristie Woods.
Calling hours will be held at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, Wednesday (May 2, 2007) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Owens officiating. Music will be provided by the Sluss Family.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Della Horton Good
KINGSPORT - Della Horton (Bloomer) Good, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Brookhaven Manor.
Born in Scott County, VA (Clinchport) Mrs. Good moved to Kingsport at an early age. She retired from Freel's Drugstore where she had worked for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan Karl Horton, her second husband, James Good, a daughter, Linda Simpson, and several sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Hall of Kingsport, grandchildren, Rhonda Carpenter, Theresa Hall, Karl Hall, Tammy Williams, Tracy Deal, Mark Simpson and Ken Simpson, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday at Bloomer Family cemetery (Fairview Community) Clinchport, VA, with Rev. Mitchell Whisnant officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 8:30 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice or your local church.

William Willis Taylor
KINGSPORT - William Willis "Gus" Taylor, 75 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Calloway, Kentucky, Mr. Taylor had lived in Kingsport since 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was employed at Indian Path Medical Center, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D. F. and Nora Gregory Taylor and a brother, Harold Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Martin Taylor of the home, a daughter, Sherri Thieme and husband Paul of Warren, MI, son, Ron W. Taylor and wife Deborah of North Little Rock, AK, grandchildren, Wayne Taylor, Chris Taylor and Alex Thieme
Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday July 5, 2006 at Temple Baptist Church, 220 Memorial Ct, Kingsport, TN.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM at the church with Pastor Brian Schuler officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Taylor and the church choir.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Temple Baptist Church (Building Fund), P.O. Box 3100 Kingsport, TN 37664.

Joyce Morelock Rector
Kingsport - Joyce Morelock Rector, 56, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Church Hill Health Care & Rehab. Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan Co., (Kingsport) TN. She was a graduate of Sullivan West High School in 1968 and was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, C.J. Morelock.
Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law, Mrs. Tommy (Monica) Hurd and Kendra Lawson all of Kingsport; her mother, Joan Birdwell Morelock; two sisters, Brenda Adams of Kingsport and Debbie Davidson of Rogersville; two brothers, Clay Morelock and Wesley Morelock both of Kingsport, three granddaughters, Maranda Lawson, Parker Jo Hurd, and Sydney Hurd; a grandson, Zackery Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia at a young age. She chose to donate her body to aid in the research for this disease. Anyone wishing to make a contribution to further the study of this disease should forward donations to: The National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane No., Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will be conducted at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Gerhardt, officiating.

Margaret Dunn
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith ...." II Tim 4:7
Kingsport - Margaret Hall Dunn, 78 of Kingsport, entered into the beautiful garden of Heaven on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at her residence. Margaret was born in Sullivan County, TN on May 4, 1929 to William and Ethel Blevins Hall. She was a 1947 graduate of DBHS and worked at Eastman for a number of years. She was married to the jewel of her life, her husband, Earl on January 23, 1949 and was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Dunn loved reading her Bible and working in her yard. She was a born again Christian, testified and sung many solos before her sickness. She loved the Lord and her Savior and looked forward to going to her Heavenly home. Mrs. Dunn was in Wellmont Cardiac Rehab for over 15 years but it never wavered her faith in Jesus or her testament of her faith in the Lord. She loved all the precious friends she met while there, and the RN's who were so kind to her. She always showed her love to all she met and was a blessing to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel (Blevins) Hall and her brother J. R. Hall.
She is also survived by her husband of over 58 years, Earl L. Dunn of the home; daughter, Linda Dunn Whitley and husband Larry D. of Kingsport; grandchildren, Aaron Whitley and wife Beth and Ashleigh Whitley; Great grandchildren, Elijah David Whitley and Bailey Elizabeth Whitley; sister, Virginia Foulk and husband Wendell; sister-in-law Joy Hall and nephews.
Entombment services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Oak Hill Mausoleum with Rev. J. W. Depew and Rev. Don McCann officiating. Aaron Whitley, grandson, will give the eulogy and Rev. Eddie Whitley will do the committal. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Salyers, Aaron Whitley, Ashleigh Whitley, Elijah Whitley, Dr. Lyle Smith, Rick Carrie and Sally Carrie. Those who wish to attend the committal service are asked to meet at Oak Hill Mausoleum at 1:55 PM.
The family will receive friends at the mausoleum immediately follow the committal service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice for all their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Drive Church, (Building Fund), 1020 Oak Drive Circle, Kingsport, TN 37665.
