Knoxville - Bobby Lynn Starnes, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (October 9, 2007) at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
He was born in Sullivan County, and attended Lynn View High School. He lived in Knoxville the past 5 years and was self-employed.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Callie Kerns Starnes; brother, Ed Starnes; sister, Nancy Davis.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Donna Kay Dingus Starnes, Kingsport; daughter, Natasha Goodwin and husband, Brad, Kingsport; son, Chris Starnes and wife, Amy, Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Carriella Starnes, Evan Starnes, Trey Jarrell, Landon Goodwin, Alex Goodwin; sisters, Judy Jones, Kingsport, Betty Tribble, Kingsport; brothers, Bill Starnes, Church Hill, Rick Starnes, Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be 5 to7 p.m. Thursday (October 11, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Friday (October 12, 2007) in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Owston officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robbie Ramsey, Todd Freeman, Todd Davis, Jeff Jones, Bill Starnes Jr., and Ron Smith.

Margaret Delores (Brummett) Harris
Kingsport – Margaret Delores (Brummett) Harris, 72, went to be with the Lord Saturday (October 13, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Mendota, VA and lived in Kingsport most of her life. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Lee and Virgie Ann Fullen Brummett; sister, Pauline Lovelace.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald Edward Harris, Kingsport; daughter, Brenda Ann Hutson and husband John, Surgoinsville; son, Rev. David Lee Harris and wife Robin, Kingsport; grandchild, Kayla Ann Hutson, Surgoinsville; brother, Hugh S. Brummett, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday (October 15, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Harris and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Hugh Brummett, Paul Belcher, James Marshall, John Hutson, Sean Harris, Dave Draper, Bob Hammonds and Charles Cline.

Joyce Arnold Ketron
Joyce Moore Arnold Ketron of the Bloomingdale community passed away Monday (October 22, 2007) after an extended illness.
The youngest child of Dr. W. L. Arnold and Lida Moore Arnold, she was born in the McPheeters Bend community on October 26, 1924. She graduated from Church Hill High School in 1941. Later that year she married Samuel Gardner Ketron of Kingsport, their marriage lasting until his death in 1991. Together they operated S. G. Ketron Realty and Auction Co. for more than forty years. She was an active member of Kingsley United Methodist Church as longs as she was able. She was honored with a lifetime membership of the United Methodist Women and was a lifetime member of the PTA at Ketron High School. She also loved the outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dorsey Kyle Arnold and William Roger Wayne Arnold; and sisters Blanche Arnold Click, Marjorie Arnold Begley, and Grace Arnold.
Survivors include her son, Lawrence Gardner Ketron of Kingsport, his wife Martha, and daughters Jamie, Jodie, and Jessica; son, Edward Pierce Ketron of Cary, NC, his wife Linda, and daughters Cathy, Sara, and Amy; her daughter, Nancy Joyce Ketron of Kingsport; sister, Dorothy Arnold Wolfe; sister-in-law, Margaret Smith Arnold; a nephew, several nieces, and several great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday (October 25, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home for the daughter.
Graveside services will be at Oak Hill cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday (October 26, 2007) with Rev. Joel Campbell and Aaron Pierce, officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:55 p.m.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, (October 28, 2007) at Kingsley United Methodist Church, 2828 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport with Rev. Joel Campbell officiating. Friends and family are invited.
If desired please make memorial contributions to the Kingsley United Methodist Church, 2828 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport, TN 37660, or a charity of your choice.

William David Thornburg III
William David Thornburg III, 42, passed away on Friday (October 26, 2007) at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County (Kingsport). He graduated from Sullivan North High School in 1983; he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Sage Thornburg, Kingsport; father, Bill Thornburg, Kingsport; sisters, Beth Thornburg, Kingsport, Stacia Thornburg, Kingsport; several aunts, uncles, cousins.
Funeral service will be Monday (October 29, 2007) at 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Gibson officiating. Music will be provided by Wendy Aistrop. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
In Lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the Thornburg family at P.O. Box 1129, Kingsport, TN 37662.

Dana Sylvia (Salyers) "Fields" Bogart
Dana Sylvia (Salyers) “Fields” Bogart, 74 of Bedford, VA died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Montvue Nursing Home in Luray, VA.
Mrs. Bogart was born on March 22, 1933 in Scott County, Virginia, daughter of the late T.R. and Vista Salyer.
Surviving are three sons, Randall L. Fields and wife, Ellen of Luray, Danny R. Fields and wife, Jo of Waynesboro, VA, S. Wayne Fields of Charlottesville, VA; two daughters, Marline Sims and husband, Randy of Staunton, VA, Tina D. Ramey and husband, Kenneth of Gate City, VA and their father, Maynard Fields, Gate City, VA; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one great-grandchild.
She is also survived by a brother, J. W. Salyer, Pumpkin, Nevada; three sisters, Alice Barton, White Falls, Idaho, Norma Jean Gray, Afton, TN and Delphie Ann Hutson, Berkley Springs, West Virginia and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her second husband, William Bogart; two brothers, Rayburn Salyer and Kenneth Salyer.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (Nov. 7, 2007) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2007) at Holston View cemetery with Rev. Randy Sims officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Ramey, Jeremy Falin, Keith Fields, Donnie Gray, David Eads and John Burns.

Patty Riley
Corinth, KY – Patty Jane Crumbley Riley, 42, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, (November 4, 2007) in Williamstown, KY.
Born in Hawkinsville, GA and had lived for the past 10 years in Kentucky. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Jimmy Riley; father, David Crumbley.
She is survived by a loving companion of the home, Mark Fogle; mother, Mary Ivey Cole and step-father, John Cole, Peru, IN; sons, Mark Fogle, Jr., of the home, Matthew Crumbley and Christopher Crumbley, both of Peru, IN; sister, Barbara Patton and husband Floyd, Peru, IN; brothers, Lamar “Stumpy” Crumbley and wife Joanne, Port St. Lucy, FL; Ronald Crumbley and wife Shawn, John Crumbley and wife Donna, Bruce Crumbley and wife Janet, all of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with her nephew, Gary Bruce Crumbley, Jr. officiating.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 9, 2007) at Hill Top Mission cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary R. Crumbley, Derrick Crumbley, Brandon Crumbley, Chad Patton, Junior Patton, Rickey Patton, Ronnie Crumbley, Jr., Stevie Crumbley, Jason Crumbley, Shawn Crumbley, and Johnny Patton. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sullivan Baptist Church and Hill Top Mission Church for the Love and Prayers.

Mrs. Betty Jane Schmoldt
Kingsport – Mrs. Betty Jane Schmoldt, 81, Kingsport, went to be with Jesus, Tuesday (November 6, 2007) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Wisconsin and was of the Lutheran Faith. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be sadly missed in our home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Schmoldt on April 3, 2006 whom she was married to for 63 years.
She is survived by a son, Donald C. Schmoldt and wife Sharon, Kingsport; grandchildren, Erik Schmoldt and Tammy LeMaster, both of Kingsport, Wesley Schmoldt, Church Hill; great-grandchildren, Jacob Collier, Johnson City, Alexus Schmoldt, Kingsport, Savannah Schmoldt, Church Hill.
Calling hours will be from 11a.m. to 12 noon Friday (November 9, 2007) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Mountain Home National cemetery with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends and family will go in procession following the calling hours.

Barry Wayne Bishop
Barry Wayne Bishop, 43 of North Roan Street in Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 9, 2007, at his residence due to complications from diabetes. He was a graduate of Sullivan South High School and loved ballgames and racing.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Minnie Pendleton; paternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Bishop.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Bobbie Bishop of Kingsport; sister, Kim Pierce and husband Loren of Gray; maternal grandmother, Jo K. Dannelly of Kingsport; special niece, Erika H. Pierce of Gray; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Sisco.
A private graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
